Up until now, we only saw skirmishes. This is the first scene with massive destruction, with districts blown up.

Not a bad looking fireplace either. The soldiers there put a lot of work into it. But it is also in a way depressing. It means these people have stopped even trying to get out of the city.

At least some they have a nice place to stay in. It's too bad that knowing the Blastwave way of doing things, it's invariably going to get bombed/burnt/exploded to the ground.

But I kinda' hope the fireplace would be left standing. Because you have to admit: that is one fine piece of fireplace.

Aside from the content, it's the third page this year and the March barely started. Will Gone with the blastwave update regularly or something?

Nope! There are many explosives, which do not burn but simply decompose. The most commonly known is obviously nitroglycerinin, but there are many others like that and quite a lot of those involve some weird nitrogen compounds. Some really exotic examples can be found here (among other nasty chemicals).
