I would be OK with it if we avoided the main cast for the most part. Of course, that means we are dead or monsters by the end of the War, but there is enough time there for some good stuff.

Exactly. We also don't know yet what other tricks they might have, like some gem-tech equivalent of body paint.

We don't know a gem type can be changed outside of fusion though.

Not quite, at least in my experience.
Freeform means, to me, there is no mechanical rules. Most are not directed by a GM like figure, but I have played in such once or twice.
Hmm, my idea is Halite, peachy (Halite can be many colours, even clear, but peach seems to be the most commonly associated colour) with a cube studded tetsubō. I'm so going to draw something!

Well, Pearl is a gem simply by virtue of being a precious mineral, so I imagine the bar is fairly low. :P

I imagine if I were to join I'd be Pyrite (or maaaaaaaaybe Bismuth but that's kind of a stretch).

EDIT: Hell, Desert Glass is a thing in this show, so I don't see why obsidian shouldn't be (though, admittedly, Desert Glass could just be an artifact rather than a full on gem...)

Yeah, I suppose that's true. I jsut figured that the fact that we built cities and fought our own wars against each other would mean that aliens would take more interest or at least treat us as more dangerous than any other given animal.
