This actually has nothing to do with actual rain. It is a week where a whole bunch of people make or have someone make them an avatar with some rain theme.

Speaking of which, we might want to add something about it being an avatar theme week to the OP for newcomers.

I'm all kinds of annoyed now. I spend almost an hour working on my rain week avatar (and matching signature picture (I had a rain form castform and everything!)) and I was almost done, when my Inkscape app closes itself and for some reason none of my probably 15 saves took. Uggh.

EDIT: Got the Avatar redrawn at least. Still working on the signature.

I've been doing so many Pokemon drawings because I've been making a Pokemon region for a PTU game at some point in the future. My avatar character is a gym leader from that region that I just loved.

Anyone have any advice on how to draw rain in vector graphics software?

I drew like five very light blue raindrops made them transparent and used the spray paint tool (I think its actually called the clone tool, but its icon in Inkscape is a spray paint bottle).

I'm still struggling with the more recent of PSE I got last month, but I pulled out a half-decent avatar.
(It's funny, I'd swear some options got lost - like I used to be able to have a hairbrush effect with my brush. Like in Gimp, by default, where, if you draw over your own line in the same stroke, it overlays it, it doesn't stay the same shade until you release the pressure and draw another stroke over it, if that makes sense. It's gimping [hah!] my style a lot. Oh well.)

So, my avatar is finally done. It's a bit rushed because I had trouble settling on a concept, but it's done.

The bottom is going to get a bit cut off as an actual avatar, but that's probably for the best.
