    Spoiler
    Show
    Wielders of the Axe of Prissan
    Starting with the most recent

    Big Ears - Male Goblin Paladin. One of the protagonists of the story and current wielder of the axe.
    Saral Caine* - Evil Male Half Stone Giant/Half Human. Ally of Dellyn Goblinslayer and minor antagonist in the Brassmoon arc.
    Dri Featherknife - Female Human Rogue/Paladin. She was killed by Goblinslayer and Saral Caine after uncovering their plot to frame the sherrif of Brassmoon for murder.
    Flejj Hillmover - Male Dwarf. He fought Kore twice and survived. His family was not so lucky. He shaved his beard in shame.

    ----

    Felsibeth "Soot" Blackbringer - Young Female Human Paladin. Youngest to ever wield the axe.
    Kelstride Blackbringer - Male Human Paladin. Soot's Father. Former chimney sweep. Killed by a Kobold stampede.
    Drose - Genderless Golem Paladin. Drose passed the Axe to Kelstride Blackbringer to prevent the demon imprisoned within from taking control of his body.
    Eled of the East - "Fat, over confident" Paladin. Was given the axe by Myorg.
    Mryorg* - Evil Male Ogre. Beat (but did not kill) Vilias Red in combat and took the Axe from her. Used it to cause great suffering before eventually giving it to Elad purely to make the demon contained within suffer after coming so close to freedom.
    Vilias Red* - Female Human Rogue. Was friends with Tivoth Fastfoot and took the axe after Tivoth died in battle with the intention of giving it to another Paladin.
    Tivoth Fastfoot - Male Paladin. Encountered Vilias Red looting a corpse and assumed she had murdered the man. Once he realized she was innocent, the two became friends and traveled together.

    ----

    Kevitch Gritland* - Evil Male... formerly... Human maybe... Fighter/Wizard. Horribly mutated by an evil swamp. Killed Eldrock Cloudcry and claimed the axe as his own.
    Eldrock Cloudcry - Known in name only.

    -----

    Cal - Male Gnome Paladin. Egotistic gambler. Had a powerful, icy magic effect.
    Jelbin Crae - Male Human Paladin. Gave Cal the Axe willingly. Nothing else is known.

    *Confirmed non-Paladin

    To get this thing going with something other than speculation on THunt's fate, I wanted to Point something out:

    In his first appearane Kore's Body was built rather different from now. I feel that his Handstand would look less egregious with this physique than with the current one.

    Still a bit preposterous, but it might indicate quite a lot of preplanning on THunt's part, since the trick would originally have been plausible. Unfortunately he didn't seem to have considered that when developing his style.

    What if this is the last page of Goblins? It kind of works as a Bolivian Army Ending.

    Clearly the next three pages are going to be so mind-blowing that it's taking this long to finish them. Naturally I expect them to be fully animated and in 3d with both lens flare and motion blur.

    So Thunt traded in his ability to keep to a consistsnt update schedule to really bring his story to life?

    Didn't Tempts Fate already do this? And shortly afterwards, was consigned to ultimate oblivion? Not a good sign of Forgath+Co. are following in his footsteps.

    Whoever he traded with got suckered. Thunt has never had the ability to keep a consistent update schedule.

    Well yeah, you typically make those kinds of trades at character creation.

    Are there many comics that can actually update consistently without having a buffer?

    I know DD did that, but outside of that one I'm not too sure. I know that having a buffer is helping me a ton personally.

    Yet Another Fantasy Gamer Comic updates nearly daily, but the art is deliberately unfinished. Rich Morris will "finish" some strips, but usually doesn't. Not sure how many strips he tries to keep in the buffer though.

    Thunt puts a lot more work into each strip, and if you ever watch the Live Cam, you know he is pretty busy and focused on the art. Goblins is not something he cranks out during his lunch break, and he usually posts as soon as one page is done, then takes at most a day off before jumping onto the next.

    Fixed. Daily updates haven't been the norm ever since the birth of his latest child. For example, the current strip is still the March 4 one, and the previous was from February 27.

    It's UserFriendly. Surprisingly, they still update daily.

    Questionable Content updates almost every day (exceptions are when the author is on con, vacation, ill or otherwise unable to).

    As for Goblins: Well, tbh, I'm starting to get a bit annoyed. Not at the lack of update, but the lack of information. Twice we were told Thunt would speak to us in the next day or so, and twice it hasn't happened.
    The last time was over a week ago now, and nothing since then.

    I wouldn't mind if Danielle or Thunt posted "Sorry, Goblin is on hiatus till the end of the month" or something like that, even. Don't want the details of what's going on if they think it's none of our business. But absolutely nothing?

    I know that I'm not paying for the comic, so save your comments on that front please, but it is Thunt's job. Treating his readers like that can't be a good thing for him.

    I'm assuming that many readers use rss like me and don't even notice when a comic doesn't update. But maybe reading so many comics that some of them update every day is not the norm.^^

    The update countdown clock now reads "Updates on hold for now! More info soon!"

    At least someone's alive and well enough to make that change, if not blessed with an overabundance of free time to elaborate further.

    Ehh, I was just making a cheap joke. Honestly, the delayed schedule doesn't really bother me. I mean, I'm on the OotS board, where weeks can go by without an update, then suddenly we get three in one week. Different creators have different processes.

    Well, that is because you can't really kill Schlock. He is the real creator (yes, the blob creature in the comic). Howard Tayler is his pen name.

    My list of current comics with "good, stable" update performance:

    Daily:
    * Dilbert
    * SchlockMercenary
    * UserFriendly

    At least once per week:
    * DataChasers
    * FreeFall
    * GirlGenius
    * Gunnerkrigg Court
    * Looking For Group
    * RustyAndCo
    * SandraAndWoo
    * xkcd

    Buffer? Don't know / dont care.
    Why would that be important (to a reader) ?
