Well. that's a thing that happened. Honestly, I don't know if it's real transphobia or not, given how bad badly written satire can go over. The whole thing could be someone misfiring horribly while making a point about transphobia, or could be intentional transphobia, or merely latent transphobia (wow, using that word a lot) slipping through. In any of those events, the article is horribly written, and that's enough to make me upset, especially in the context of issues I care about.

In Russia, Finland is generally associated with something calm, relaxed, leisurely and unhurried - mostly because of Finnish saunas and books by Tove Jansson (both are extremely popular - even more than, say, in America).

Yesterday I felt absolutely horrible. Then I had an attack of Dysarthria. There are no good things that cause dysarthria. There are no mildly bad things that cause it. Its range journeys from nerve or brain damage to parkinsons or brain cancer.

I'm hoping it's a one time problem from some fluke confluence of factors, but I'm tremendously scared. More so because my health insurance expires in a week, and my shiny new medical coverage is suspended in bureaucratic limbo with two institutions pointing fingers at each other for who's responsible to make sure that medical problems won't bankrupt me.

I'm scared, I'm feeling lonely, school feels crushing, and I really need a hug.

A lot of doctors here have emergency hours if you can't wait for an appointment but are not so desperate as to need to go to A&E. I hope it turns out to be fatigue and/or psychosomatic, or if it is something bad, it could be a transient ischemic attack which tend to be very treatable. ((more hugs))

Sounds like it. I have a lot of issues that turn out to be harmless when I ask someone more in the know but that drive me completely crazy beforehand because I worry about them.

No, but I might be able to be covered at certain places and be reimbursed or not charged later, because my application is in, my card is just taking months to arrive (the last time I called the folks responsible, they gave me a site to visit and told me to tell them I'm on Medi-Cal but my card hasn't arrived yet).

I'm still worried about the whole thing, but fortunately went yesterday without another incident, so I'm tentatively chalking it up to a horrifying fluke unless something else comes up.
