    I'll form the head

It's a lot more similar to the model Parson was playing with in the last text update than I would have thought.

Also, I just noticed Parson's facial expression in the last text update.

It fits a tower's anti-air defense function, since this is presumably a Gradius Moai Interceptor Cannon.

I think Tool will be very disappointed with a tower that does nothing. However that Easter Island statue will turn out to be very useful. I speculate that it'll improve the city's efficiencies or a drastic reduction in upkeep cost, or it'll improve on the city's defense so much that troops are not needed to defend the capital (the city itself becomes one giant unit so you can only destroy it, but can't capture it)

I think the most likely outcome is that, just like the Easter Island counterpart in real life, the status does nothing and just sucks up large upkeep and Parson will get crap for it.

I hope not, that'd be distinctly unsatisfyingly out of left field and wouldn't really make much narrative sense.

It'll be funny though. Hopefully not to the level of running gag though, that might get annoying.

Well, it's a head. And heads can...talk, I guess. What might this one have to say? Does it know secrets of Jetstone? Secrets of the erf? It looks kinda taciturn, but it would be interesting if it had opinions. Maybe it won't have any direct battle utility, but it'll be a character.

Aaand the first update with the new Patreon-style system is missed. I guess there's zero buffer still.

Forgive me if this issue has already been raised; I remember we talked about it a few pages ago but I'm still unclear. The Kickstarter was supposed to fund Book 3 from start to finish. Why is there now additional funding required per update? What became of the original funding?

It was just funding draw part of book 3. Iirc it was called print book 2, draw book 3.

Yes but Book 3 isn't drawn. Real life happens but this is pretty par for the course for Erfworld.

Was there some deadline on Book 3? Anyway book is being written as we speak.

As far for pretty par for Erfworld comment it seems you are taking three independent points and constructing a narrative. I'm certain things will work out in the end.

No, but the Kickstarter goals specified that a comic page and a text update will happen every week.

Didn't stop other webcomics from updating. And this probably wouldn't even be mentioned if Erfworld wasn't having constant issues with consistent updates.

Maybe, just maybe, when promising an update schedule, going for a buffer - even a modest one, like two or three pages - would be a good idea?

Some did, some didn't. It's not really a big deal. One or two days late, versus silly April the First stuff that means you can't read any news for a day? I'm a lot happier with a couple of reasonable missing days that a lot of people take. I agree it is probably better to let people know beforehand rather than on the day, but even so it's not a huge issue for me.

Webcomics is a service industry now???

Perhaps a stronger point is that the comic going up on Friday is supposed to be done before Friday, not on Friday. At least, typically.

I think the thing that is very bothersome is the Kickstarter implied David was running a professional team of artists, and that's clearly not the case. It's not a big deal, but it's annoying that it was misrepresented.

Night at the Museum reference. There was a talking moai head in the first movie that called Stiller's character "Dum-Dum." It had a surprising amount of lung capacity for being, you know, made of stone.

I suspect that, at the very least, the tower's upkeep is now free (assuming towers themselves have upkeep). It may also have some antimagic or indestructible quality. Something that comes with it being now, apparently, an ur-tower.
