I dunno, I think it was more an emotional dependency than physical. She was using the booze as a crutch so she didnt have to deal with her problems. What she needs is an immediate appointment with her shrink and friends handy to talk things over with so she doesnt suppress and feel the need to drink to handle it.

Drinking enough gives you the physical dependency. I think Faye has drunk enough, often enough she's almost certainly got some level of physical dependency. She's likely going to have to sweat it out, I don't think there's any way around it. Addiction is both physical and mental, yeah she's self medicating her depression as her main reason for drinking but that doesn't mean that her GABA receptors are less susceptible to chemical alteration because she's doing it because she's sad.

I'd ask Dora or Marten or Hannelore if they thought a "get well," message was likely to help or cause an explosion, and I'd keep on keeping on. I wouldn't be trying to get back together, but I'd be worried about Faye.

I don't really see it that way. Claire knows what was going on and she has a strong emotional attachment to Marten. I would think it would be natural for her to rush over as soon as she knew that he could see her. She is obviously concerned for him and wants to comfort him. He has shown himself to be confident and self assured around her and he's a guy, so it's not really out of character for him to seek comfort that way.

I'm pretty sure she keeps her insurance until the end of whenever it was paid (generally the end of the month). Massachusetts has a “mini-COBRA” law that covers companies with less than 20 employees.

The Massachusetts mini-COBRA doesn't cover people fired for gross misconduct.... so perhaps Dora means that she is going to not list that as her reason of terminating Faye, so Faye will be eligible for continued insurance?
