It seems likely Hel will vote aye, but what advantage can Hel derive from a tie vote?

The HPoH has been inscrutable thus far, and I really don't see what the endgame is here. So much time spent deceiving the party and now converting Clerics into Hel's fold, yet the HPoH seems to want to push the world to be destroyed? Unless the tie is specifically what he's after, to stall for some purpose.

When the Giant wants to make an exciting 1000th strip, he really goes all out.

My guess is that Hel doesn't actually care about the vote very much, she just wants the position of having the last vote so that she can offer her support to either side, if they give her other concessions.

I have a feeling Hel does not intend to vote one way or the other. Rather, she probably plans to vote for whichever side gives her what she wants.

Aw man, I wanted to see the other gods via proxy, too. But the design of those high priests and that adorable rat cleric made up for it.

I wonder whether Hel will simply vote, or whether she'll take this chance to announce something else.

Still, I love how some defaulted to following Thor and Odin, and the Moon god decided it was too much work to rebuild.

Ties might go to the affirmative, to prevent divine squabbling. Much the same reason there are ninjas.


However, since Durkula has explicitly dismissed petty* politics, I think it's more likely that a tie will require more debate, which will give the new members of his Church time to regain spells and revert the building to a mountaintop, turning the debaters into toothpaste

*I admit that this vote may not count as "petty".

The major temples of three pantheons, many of their followers, and it runs through the *entire* Norse pantheon and all its high priests. Rich, your character designs now are so amazing, as is the environment you're putting them in.

But why would the HPOH want to stall? It's not like he almost certainly has a few new vampire allies running around the Godsmoot, taking care of whatever Hel's REAL plan is (probably vamping the rest of the stone order).

I half expect belkar to race in attacking durkula screaming about how he's evil, just to throw the whole mess into disarray and confusion.

Then durk's new friends start assaulting the priests and war breaks out.


Of course, I expect that'll be 1001. 1000 will be an breakaway to elan on the ship "I hope it's going well. I wish Banjo had been invited, that would have been so cool!" :) filler 1000!
