Just because someone expects something doesn't mean it has no effect on them, or that they're happy about it.

A minor inconvenience isn't worth the poison's cost, let alone the loss of reputation due to being so inelegant.

Actually, recruitment ends today, after I get home from work.

Then I will randomly choose an Alpha and finalize the rules.

The Alpha gets to choose the members of his team, then everyone gets their role PM.

I do have some skill with poisons, true. But, you must understand, that I am stupid enough to poison myself when I have any of the stuff in my house. Intentionally. My assorted cuddle-buddies (drow term, basically friends with benefits but also they live with you and occasionally torture you for funsies) don't let me have anything poisonous. I do, however, have several delayed blast fireballs in this ice cream sandwich. I happen to have a lot of resistance to fire, since I principally use the Area of Effect Spell Meteor Swarm and crafted myself some magic items to survive them (because I hit myself with at least three of those per DAY). Wait a second. Let me figure out my life story quick. Most of it you already know.
    1. Born at age 0.
    2. Discovered my gender at age 8 (really hard to tell for elves).
    3. Apprenticed to an alchemist at age 9. (took 3 levels in Sorcerer)
    4. Poisoned the alchemist at age 10. (gained 1 level in Sorcerer)
    5. Joined a drama club at age 11.
    6. Took eight levels of fighter (prerequisite of joining Drow Law School).
    7. Became a lawyer (gained seven additional levels of fighter from *ahem* civil court disputes)
    8. Learned my parents' genders at age 22.
    9. Represented my Parent's murderers and got them off without a hitch.
    10. Was sued and exiled by Other Parent (the law, how fickle a mistress) at age 24.
    11. Became a wandering adventurer (took twenty-ish levels in Sorcerer)
    12. Was selected to play a Nosferatu in Dracula.
    13. This game.

Hm... Yes, I can see why some of you might have reservations with my foodstuffs.
You notice I have no levels in Commoner (chef).

@John: I still have some room to work in more madness. Weird stuff that happens with Drow law. Who my cuddle-buddies are. Plenty of room for secrets.

I don't see any good reason to assume that Xihirli is lying at this point. What is there to gain from it? It's not in any way harmful to any of us to believe it to be true, at least for now. Xihirli is many things, but a liar at times when it makes no difference? I don't think so. I mean, it's chaoticish, sure, but not evil.

Also, you seem entirely too pleasant to be a drow lawyer, reformed or otherwise. And it looks like standards have slipped for entry into drow law school over the past few decades.

Three assumptions that I believe to be false:
1:That you are using expensive poison. Certain relatively cheap spices, for example, can be used as poison in sufficient quantity.
2:That you will be identified as the poisoner. Are you really so clumsy that this would happen?
3:That directness is inelegant. Indeed, it is often quite refreshing.
Anyway, you are welcome to offer me food, poisoned or otherwise. I won't be accepting.

Clearly you missed the game where he claimed to be the Devil even though he was town and there was no good reason to do this. In fact, Xihirli's MO basically is acting ways for no actual good reason.

You're right, I did miss that. I was in absentia from the forums for some time. However, at least in that instance there could have been comedy value. Here, there's not even really that. The way I see it, everything that a classically Evil person does is centered on personal gain or amusement, generally at the expense of others. Xihirli is classically evil. Since there is no gain or entertainment to be made from lying here, it's probably true. Besides, what's the difference here between believing and not believing? Essentially non-existent. I choose to be charitable now so that I feel better about being uncharitable later.

I'm convinced that Xihirli is a Twoface-style Lawful Neutral, who's dedicated to letting set actions/reactions tied to random possibilities decide his actions for him. That is, I'm convinced he's rolling on some massive table titled "what I'm gonna do today", and there's like 1000 or so results. It looks chaotic and random, but it's actuall a calm, calculated dance of manipulation. Before today, he was merely another magic/martial drow gish. But today? Today, we found out he's also a highly accomplished lawyer. He's clearly far more clever than we've been giving him credit for.

You're probably more qualified to speak on this particular subject, since I can't say I know him very well. Even so, he's not particularly spreading chaos here. Believing him doesn't particularly upset the order of things. Being chaotic isn't just about acting in random, unpredictable ways. It's about creating chaos through your actions. Your actions can be as planned and calculated as you like, as long as you bring about chaos and/or freedom with them.

My stated alignment is Stupid Evil. There are just so few ways to be evil in Werewolf games unless I'm a werewolf that I've been drifting into Chaotic Stupid. I did cause some mildly harmful chaos in the last game, though that was accidental.

Too pleasant to be a lawyer? Your people have very different stereotypes for lawyers than we do. Lawyers, just like Sorcerers, mostly use Charisma, which is why this is my highest stat. I seem pleasant, but I really would enjoy scimitar-chucking you in the face (is it on the left side of the X...?) almost as much as watching people debate over my alignment. There is one thing you got right: I really like to do things that will seem funny later. This makes me somewhat unpredictable, because I'm not in the game to win, but to see if I can make a situation hilarious in hindsight. I never repeat a big joke (like claiming devil falsely), though, which is why I'm not Chaotic Stupid. I have one rule, and that is that I won't use the same grand finale twice. It cheapens the original joke.

I would be rather impressed if you managed to make me regret encouraging you, especially since I don't think there's anything we could do to stop you from doing stupid things. Either we encourage you, so you do it more, or you enjoy the negative attention of being discouraged, so you do it more, or we ignore you, in which case you try to get our attention back by doing it more. It's a win-win. Or lose lose. Either way.

Well... no. I believe that you have high charisma- you're actually quite likable, despite your blatant evilness- but that's not what I'm saying. Having met other drow lawyers, including reformed ones, I can only assume that you aren't as bad as most of them, since I still have a house. And money. And teeth.
