So race of selfie-people (amongst 2 other traits). Did he do that on purpose or does he just flip through the pages and makes up stuff? Either way, that was funny enough for me as concept.

Does it make sense though? If family and/or friends are what's important, shouldn't the pictures be of them instead of himself square and center? The Selfiemaniac photos commemorate his successes in having numerous and important (Danica) friends and family. So: Egocentric ego stroking.

I think they make selfies so they can send others their photos? So they rather give than take photos. And the photos seem to always include other people, showing their recipients more faces to feel better.

I consider it to be writer suicide.
Take your own work, and whenever you have any event that looks unique or interesting (even just a little), just kill it by saying it's not special, this is how the entire race of creatures would have done.

Want to know how many times it was done in this comic? Just count the number of race description pages...

Maybe, all I know is, when your magic power is basically green lantern constructs of whatever you think of, you could do worse than watch a lot of cartoons and superhero shows for ideas. Now im imagining danica hurling a half dozen "light blades" at her targets instead of pew pew lasers all the time.

No, I mean it could be foreshadowing about agent what's-his-name of Psychology Ops.

Doubtful, as Mookie only does retrospective foreshadowing -- explicitly linking subsequent developments to previous story elements in order to create the illusion that the plot was, in fact, planned out in advance.

That said, I would not be dismayed to discover that Agent Smith is actually Space Celesto

Soon. We still haven't ID'd this chapter's antagonist. I'm thinking Robo-Bill, myself. Haven't seen him in a while.

Im going with the longshot, power mad danica. Her upgrade is having some strange effects on her, think Riker from Star Trek tng when he got the power of a Q. Basically, its going to be a mix of combat and heartfelt talks with the power of friendship to snap her out of it. That then gives us the easy followup arc of her not wanting to use her power out of fear of backsliding until she learns to have faith in herself when black hole bill shows up to get his revenge. (again)

Eh, I'm not sure I'm going to support that claim.

Even if today we got the same joke for like the tenth time, I have some hope Mookie might deliver something original? Hey, I'm serious, it could happen. Let's wait.

    Update

So, we're going to have another lengthy talk with "she is so awesome" at the end, or will it end with the government trying to misuse her for something?
    Or maybe both?

Either way, too early to snark for now, let's see where this goes to.

Psycop is going to probe her mind and get into trouble from the rush of power. Either that, or he is secretly evil and wants to see if he can use the power himself somehow now that he has wrung the countess dry of info.

    The traveler

It appears we're going to be rewarded with an info dump soon.

I'm a bit confused since it seems like the government knows more about the star powered than Danica herself
At the same time it also seems like the government is actually the good guys here, and I'm willing to take any story with a good government these days

It's not obvious that the traveler is associated with the star power. He could just be some government agent that determines whether phenomena are threats to public safety and if so assassinates them. It could be a wandering black hole that is going to suck up SSSSSSSSSSS unless Danica can save them. Or a million other explanations.

Traveler is a homeless hobo, the last of his kind in this ultra-modern galactic society. The galactic authorities tried to help him out but the stubborn traveler would have none of that. Over time rumors of the Traveler have spread all over the galaxy despite the united efforts of all the local governments in the galaxy to suppress the news. The authorities now fear that a meeting of Traveler and SPS would be a PR disaster for them and new traveling hobos will pop up all over.

Mookie just revealed that Danica isn't white!
    http://www.starpowercomic.com/so-right-but-so-gross/
Which makes me see how this concentration on colour nuances is as overblown now as it has always been.

Also, in Mookie Canon, South America is a nation.
