So it was the orb after all!

Also, a massive T-rex would be much more useful right now. No offense, Bloodfeast.

It's amazing that people who actually read the comic instead of dreaming up bizarre theories can actually put two and two together and get four

Ha! Blackwing continues to be the best character! I love him... greed at it with their money eyes! Ha!
And that answers the "What's Gontor up to" speculation. I'm also concerned that he appears about ready to drop kick Mr Scruffy!

Oh and... Wooo! I was online the second the comic dropped!! So happy! And now sad, cos waiting again...

Interesting how different Gontor is as a thrall compared to Durkon. Thrall!Durkon seemed like a child.

I prefer to think of it as the Raven that cried Thief

If it's been happening all day then of course V is gonna start getting dismissive of it, and think of it as another 'my precious' moment from Blackwing

Perhaps the High Priest of Hel was acting. Or it was actually a brand new spirit created by Hel at the moment of Durkon's death, and Gontor's vampire uses an older spirit that already knows its way around the block.

Maybe he's not a thrall, but another free-willed cleric of Hel (and thus below his master Durkon in the church's hierarchy).

The boy who cried wolf scenario includes the villagers caring in the first place, and being driven to dismissive apathy through abuse of their credulity. Blackwing's last comment indicates V never took his concerns seriously in the first place.

Hmm. I wonder if Blackwing could get a clearer signal of something being off by taking off the bracelet? Would V notice the sudden drop in spell power? Is Blackwing even capable of taking off the bracelet himself?

Actually, shouldn't the pain of being level drained / thrown against a wall send a pretty clear signal?

Awesome, a cowardly tiger, an aggressive cat, a curious miniature T-Rex, and an assertive thumb-less avian.

... and Blackwing attempting the Vulcan mind-meld with V. Great!

Besides, there's nothing to say that the very next frame of the next comic won't be V saying 'He seems particularly vexed this time. Maybe I should just check in on him'

As a gag for the final frame of this comic it works very well Made me laugh anyway

You're assuming he's a thrall. As his soul also came from Hel, he would be just as useful to Durkula (perhaps moreso) free-willed.

Point taken. Still, Blackwing does tend to imagine the grandiose where it does not exist.

Are there any mechanical advantages to being a free-willed vampire? Aside from freeing up Durkon to have another extra thrall, I mean.
