Re: Concerning "V is M/F" threads
I don't think it was always like this... I just think that since V has been the focus of the comic lately, the topic of her gender (being the most interesting part of her) has, naturally, surfaced quite a bit. And I haven't noticed any more than one thread every 2 or so weeks...

Re: Concerning "V is M/F" threads
You're right, of course, but this only creates extra opportunities to read all the arguments before making a new thread.
Also, why be satisfied with only 50% probability of being right? Make one topic "V is male", one "V is female", throw in a remark that he's really hermaphroditic in someone else's thread, and you can be almost sure you were right somewhere

Re: Episode #638 and an End to the Debate!
Why just Pixies? Intelligence and post count have absolutely zero to do with each other; I've seen plenty of very seasoned posters spouting this kind of nonsense before.
Face it, ANYONE who claims they know for a fact what gender V is doesn't know what they're talking about. Full stop.Last edited by Roland St. Jude; 2009-03-22 at 08:51 PM.
Please write all sarcasm in blue text. All metaphors should be marked in red text and for any split infinitives, please use green. Thank you.

Re: The only definate way to reveal V's gender
There's only one definite way to find out someone's gender.
Now, as for finding someone fool enough to try...

Three gang members defaced building across from public library. Posters on messageboard inordinantly interested in sex of comic character, not healthy, sign of decaying social morals like a plague spread mind to mind through the eyes. Unsure best method of curing this ill.EvilEeyore AntiSocialite

Re: The only definate way to reveal V's gender
Not that I'm complaining, but why was a thread discussing the recurrence of threads about V's gender merged with a topic discussing V's gender? I mean, it wasn't the same topic, nobody was even claiming that they know V's gender, it was more of a meta-thread to begin with.

Re: The only definate way to reveal V's gender
Actually, Belkar already knows V's gender.
All he needs to do is go check out a book on lizard anathomy and he'd be golden.

Varsuvius: Totally a dude
After this latest strip, there can be no more debate. With his attempted weasling out of trouble; "Ventral Planes" "Limited Lease" that's guy talk. No chick would say anything like that.
After Kyrie yelled "YOU SOLD YOUR SOUL!" my first thought was "lease" even before I read V's reply.'F' is the fire that rains from the Sky
'U' for Uranium, BOMB!
'N' is for No Survivors...

Re: Varsuvius: Totally a dude
Eh, I think this is more of a "which thinks more logically" type of thing. There's no doubt that V is very left-brained and logical, whereas Kyrie seems more... well... not. Yeah, Kyrie does seem more feminine in many ways (having a domestic career, staying at home to take care of the kids, etc) but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
Yeah, I'm in the "V is a guy" camp too... but face it. We're not going to find out, except as maybe a one-off joke at the very end.
Good luck explaining your logic, though.Last edited by bsparrow; 2009-03-29 at 11:33 PM.

Re: Varsuvius: Totally a dude
As just mentioned, Kyrie seems to be quite male visually but talks and acts in a very emotional touchy-feely feminine way. So where does that leave us? Typical gender roles obviously don't mean a thing in OotS-land.

Re: Varsuvius: Totally a dude
I know this idea has likely been presented before, but nevertheless: What if V and Kyrie were both male/female? I seem to recall V saying that his/her children were adopted.

Re: Varsuvius: Totally a dude
Possible, but theres no evidence of it so until some magically appears, its safest to go with the default.
Personally, I see Kyrie as very feminine... the behavior, the hair (this coming from a guy with long hair), and even the name all scream female at me.
Of course... its possible Kyrie is just a shortened form of her name used by V (similar to "Suvie")
Kyrannar? Kyreus? Kyrith?

Re: Varsuvius: Totally a dude
Ahem, since Kyrie is the name of my ex-GIRLfriend, I will now always see V as male. Even if Rich honestly stated V as female, I still wouldn't believe Kyrie was male.

I like the idea that Kyrie stands for Valkyrie. Kudos to the person that came up with it.
I use black for sarcasm.

For me, it'll always be a Greek vocative - 'Oh Lord!'.
