Leeeeeeeroy?
did anyone else feel bugged on page 55 when parson says that should be the battlecry for his warlord? Anyone who's seen the clip knows that the O is held out, not the E. It should be Leroooooooooooooy! Anyone else feel the same way?

Re: Leeeeeeeroy?
Anyone who plays the game, on the other hand, knows that the phrase took on a life of its own. It gets accented just about everywhere by someone.

Re: Leeeeeeeroy?
Both of the syllables are long. And Leeeeeeeeeeeroy! looks better.
A bard, eh? What's your saving throw against things that don't get a saving throw?
"Mourn if you must, but mourn on the march to Tarmon Gai'don."
"Trollocs coming! Up axes and clear the fields! Trollocs coming!"

Re: Leeeeeeeroy?
Does that name have any significance beyond having appeared in that video? I mean, was it a completely random name before that point?

Re: Leeeeeeeroy?
Yeah, pretty much just some random name before the video.

Re: Leeeeeeeroy?
His character's name is Leeroy. That's why he shouts it out :P

Re: Leeeeeeeroy?
It's more than just a WoW thing... I have people at my school who wouldn't even know what WoW is shouting it. No, really. It's pissing me off as I am a devout WoW loather.

Re: Leeeeeeeroy?
it is the battle cry of the rohan people in Middle Earth, from Tolkien's Lord of the Ring. I'm sure it is cried in Helm's deep battle when the gates open and the king and his knight charge.
Though i could be wrong, it's been long since i read the books.solo tú sabes bien quien soy y por eso es tuyo mi corazón

Re: Leeeeeeeroy?
You are incorrect. The men of Rohan yell "Forth Eorlingas!". Lerooooooooy! is in fact areference to a video made by a group of people playing the online game World of Warcraft.
These people were in a large group about to enter a dungeon whilst recording the whole event. As it would occur everything is going according to plan and right as there about to enter one member gets up, and rushes in to the dungeon alone while saying "Alright chums, let's do this! Leroooooy Jenkiiiiins!!!" (or something along those lines). The rest of the members then trying to save him and the event ending in total disaster.
in the end this video became extremely popular and made a major increase in the amount of players of WoW. So yes Grug, I too was some what irked by this subtle... mispronunciation? Yes.
So until later, "At least I have chicken..."Go Snorkonian Platycores!

Re: Leeeeeeeroy?
Blah blah blah it's just a tired and hackneyed inter (insert final syllable here) device.
It's use herein was fully ironic and used in situ by Parson as such.
Debates regarding it's pronunciation are pointless, it's the old potato, tomato argument.
People from places other than yours say things differently.
