Well yeah, NOW. But in the earlier comic I was talking about it wasnt yet implied she had any idea what this was going on. Now im wondering if this is some sort of star trek section 31 type of ai group. EVeryone in the ai community believes they exist, but officially they dont and blah blah blah.

Oh dear, am I the only one who sees it? This isnt about bubbles at all. Its about emily. She has summoned elder beings through computer work one too many times, and now they have found her, and they want her. This is all about tempting EMILY into their side. Bubbles is the relative innocent emily will be helping to get her to take that first step down the long dark path they have laid out before her.

The least concerning spin I can put on it is that the experience will be EXTREMELY unusual, and they are being honest when they think Emily will enjoy it (when others might freak out). Even that is kind of disturbing.

Disturbing in what way? It's been established that Emily has a very different world view and mental processes than most normally wired people, AND an eccentric genius that may exceed Hanners' father in some areas. I don't know if she's perfect for the job of mental cybernaut fixing Bubbles' brain, but she's probably the best person for the job among those available.

That's what I'm thinking. IIRC Bubbles explained to Faye once that hooking a bunch of AIs up together usually didn't result in massive intellectual power as one mind tended to eventually dominate and diminish the others. I'm wondering if Gothbot / Dem / D.E.M. might be an exception; an AI collective.

A kiss couldn't be much more intimate or romantic than panel two. That's straight out of a romance novel.


Edit: You know, if they made romance novels about girls and robots that seem to identify as a girl. That would be quite the cover art. Faye's heaving bosom and Bubbles rippling abs. I don't know if we could get Bubbles hair to do a Fabio, blowing in the wind kinda thing.
