Did she cover it in grime, though?

Re: Questionable Content 10: La Li Lu Le Lo
That feels very uncharacteristically deceptive and convoluted for Hanners. She'd just buy it and give it outright to Brun if that was the intent.

I agree. Just saying that the "covering it in grime" part is not necessary for it to work.

Dora's a little snarky for someone who cut themselves in for 10% commissions on Faye's Texpresso.

Re: Questionable Content 10: La Li Lu Le Lo
I'm actually more surprised she has to sign a waiver for going down into the basement... is that kind of stuff normal?

Re: Questionable Content 10: La Li Lu Le Lo
I must admit, I'm warming up to Brun. I still find her an intrusion into an already overloaded cast of characters I have much longer developed feelings about, but at least shes a somewhat humorous intrusion.
“Evil is evil. Lesser, greater, middling, it's all the same. Proportions are negotiated, boundaries blurred. I'm not a pious hermit, I haven't done only good in my life. But if I'm to choose between one evil and another, then I prefer not to choose at all.”

Re: Questionable Content 10: La Li Lu Le Lo
The basement is incredibly unsafe due to the accumulation of unsanitary things (mouse poop) and pointy/collapsey things (general garbage). But it's still technically part of the premises of the business, and Brun is technically a customer on the premises of the business. If she suffers any injury from the basement trip, Dora is liable as the business owner. The waiver exempts Dora from any responsibility if a pile of giant T-rex statues falls on Brun, or if a spider eats her.

Oh joy. She's back. Again. I wonder if she's still gonna be a nosy, manipulative bitch about things and try and make Brun do things the way she would?

Re: Questionable Content 10: La Li Lu Le Lo
To be fair, Brun has no job, no possessions, and no house. 3000 may not be a LOT of money, but it's infinitely better than no money.

Re: Questionable Content 10: La Li Lu Le Lo
I mean, given that Renee's only characterisation prior to the Brun arc was "Like Faye but so much of a bitch that she drove Angus away" at least Jeph's being consistent?
Doesn't make her any better to read though.Last edited by Shadow of the Sun; 2017-03-07 at 09:41 AM.

Re: Questionable Content 10: La Li Lu Le Lo
With friends like Renee, Brun and Elliot might be better off with enemies.
I think Brun still has her leg...
This is true. On the other hand, she's a collector who has seen her cherished clocks mostly go up in flames. Part of her odd behavior might be that she's still in shock and grief. Now she's got a new, special clock, a gift from a friend and her friend. The comfort that brings might be worth more than money.

Re: Questionable Content 10: La Li Lu Le Lo
I honestly see both sides here. The pragmatic part of me says, "Look, you REALLY need the money right now so you can get your feet back under you. 3 grand would be enough to get an apartment and some basic furniture and have a little left over to live on until you can get a job" On the other hand, it was a gift from a friend and something really important to you on a few levels. I personally would likely fall on the pragmatic side because good feelings dont keep you fed and sheltered. And you are right now living on your friends dime at her place while you now have the means to no longer have to.

Re: Questionable Content 10: La Li Lu Le Lo
Let's put this in a way that's more relatable to many of us. If you lost your comic collection in a fire, and a friend gave you a rare comic to get it started again, would you sell it instead?

Re: Questionable Content 10: La Li Lu Le Lo
I'm not sure this is any more relatable. It also omits key information - said friend would have to have no idea the comic was rare, have it lying around somewhere, give it to me, be informed by me that it was worth a lot, and then choose not to take it back now that they know the value because it would be rude.
I would really like to see a game made by Obryn, Kurald Galain, and Knaight from these forums.
I'm not joking one bit. I would buy the hell out of that. -- ChubbyRain

Re: Questionable Content 10: La Li Lu Le Lo
I mean, I lost my house in this fire along with my collection, right? If I even want to start the collection again, I'd be more concerned with having a place to call my own that I could put said collection.
Honestly, Renée is being pragmatic. To a fault, of course, but it's realistic.

I like Bubble's blush.
I think Jeff just does blushing robots very well, as Roko's reaction to the tea also makes me laugh.
