I use braces (also known as "curly brackets") to indicate sarcasm. If there are none present, I probably believe what I am saying; should it turn out to be inaccurate trivia, please tell me rather than trying to play along with an apparent joke I don't know I'm making.

I more enjoy the completely disparate body sizes between Spanish and Finn.
Looks like a size category of difference.

I need a new dice chest, but I'm not sure where to get one around here. My old one has faded and isn't big enough for all my dice.

I must admit, I haven't heard much about dice chests around these parts in quite a while either. I suddenly want one, though. Good luck figuring that out.

Re: WarKitty's Feline Frenzy Random Banter #216
*crawls into thread*
I am alive.
...
I mean, I'm sounding melodramatic much, but I keep accidently almost saying I haven't slept for three days when I really mean I haven't done anything in my own home besides sleeping for the last three days. It's not quite the same thing, to say the least, but the effects seem roughly on par with one night of no sleep, and left me desperately craving for some me time.
I did have a pretty awesome game of D&D 5E with my group at work yesterday, though. We had just dinged up to seventh level, so my dwarf wizard Rist picked up Fabricate as one of her spells. This let her instantly finish the bulette armour she'd been working on for a while, which caught our DM by a bit of surprise, but it didn't end there.
We're playing the Storm King's Thunder campaign, and within the inscrutable chain of events which springs from hitherto unknown machinations are the parties of fire giants which prowl the land, digging up huge chunks of adamantine belonging to some ancient construct our characters know nothing about. Well, we came upon one such excavation in progress while travelling with our frost giant cover model friend, and after a quick battle (where we were oh-so-happy to have our NPC meat mountain around to absorb the double critical our DM rolled, racking up a total of 96 damage in one round) secured.
Let's phrase things this way: Fabricate was not worded to account for the players getting their hands on 2000 lbs of pure adamantine. As long as you have the applicable tool proficiencies and the end result fits within a 5 foot cube, you can do anything for as long as neither the raw materials nor the end results are living creatures nor magic items. There are no material components, no requirements on having the appropriate tools or facilities at hand (which is lucky, as adamantine requires something akin to dragonfire to be wrought), and the casting time is only 10 minutes. Our DM was caught by more than a little surprise when he caught on to this, but luckily for us, he's aboard with the idea. We are going to go to town over this next session.

Re: WarKitty's Feline Frenzy Random Banter #216
*pokes head in* Wow I've been absent quite a bit.
So, where have I been, what have I been doing? Well, I got around to creating a Roll20 account, after procrastinating since OpenRPG's effective demise. Trying to get back into DnD 3.5, or going with Pathfinder. Or a 40k RPG. Though i'm very rusty with Tabletop games, so if anyone has any campaigns on Roll20 they can suggest and point me to, I would appreciate it.
I also decided that it was time that I stopped putting off my weight loss and exercise plans. So I signed up for a gym membership, and going to start working out today. I am currently above 300 lbs, and going to see if I can at least bring it down to 250 or less. This has led to a rather amusing moment this morning, where I woke up excited, threw whatever cold-weather gym-appropriate cloths I have that fit me into the wash, cooked up breakfast, and realized "wait a minute...what machines do I even start on?" Cue internet searches (with about 8 different tabs open right now) and asking friends and contacts what they know. (Low impact cardio to start is what I've been told, then higher impact cardio for endurance. Then sitting machine/cable weights. etc etc). And yes I'll be asking questions at the gym as well.
EDIT/UPDATE: And after a 2.5 hour work out, I can say two things: Definitely out of shape. However, I did get through it, and I have to say I actually enjoyed the gym.Last edited by Razgriez; 2017-03-12 at 08:37 AM.

Congrats Teddy keep up the good work.
Ugh thanks to my stupid self sacrificing nature I seem to be the go-to guy for tech help and help with just about anything, I wish I knew a way to get out of it (I know there's the just be mean and unhelpful part but it does not agree with my sense of self), I just wish there was more money for me involved with the go-to guy concept but alas such is not for the likes of me.Last edited by Gnomvid; 2017-03-20 at 09:35 AM.

And deprive you of the feeling of relief you'll get when you go to bed this evening and sleep at last?
(Seriously, went to some all-night film shows when I was at university, and I made a habit of never going to bed until the night following in order to not disrupt my sleep schedule too much. I think my record was 38 hours from waking up to going to sleep!).

Re: WarKitty's Feline Frenzy Random Banter #216
I have no idea why I still even try to do these allnighters. Although, in this case it was to clear my brain. I don't know why, but sometimes it honestly feels like staying up an abnormal amount of time just gets my brain working again. ... ... of course, only after the next night has been slept. Not a healthy thing to do at all, but ugh.
Turning 25 in just a few months and I'm feeling so old. But I suppose it's normal that I'm not able to have the same kind of energetic bursts as I did, holy poo, 10 years ago.

Re: WarKitty's Feline Frenzy Random Banter #216
You'll be old enough to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, welcome to the gerontocracy!
If typical, when you reach 28 it will be harder for you to learn new things, but you will feel less emotional swings, and you'll find that you don't become "overcome with emotion" as easily, and will have more self control.
You will have an adult's mind, and you will be more like your 38 (and 48) year-old self than your 18 year old self.
As for when you become old?
If you avoid crippling injuries (automobile accidents etc.), and get a high status "gravy" career (judge, tenured professor etc.), than you will probably seem sort and "youthful", if however if you get a "human forklift" job, or a job that requires you to deceive others for a commission (the easiest kind to get in the U.S., I don't know how it is in Finland), you'll likely get old quickly, unless you're a hypercompetative psychopath, in which case you are exactly who will thrive!
If Finland is like the U.S. aim to get a government job ASAP so you hate yourself less than you do working for private industry (unless deceit for a commission pleases you), self respect means you feel the weight of years less, plus since government doesn't find reasons to shed their older employees as fast as private industry, you'll feel younger in comparison.

Re: WarKitty's Feline Frenzy Random Banter #216
Sorry I was out of the loop lately, I had a very crammed week, with a party in the end of it.
Lassie, 25 isn't old, you still have so much ahead of you.
One of my ex-girlfriends was 30 when I dated her, and my current date is 45. (for the record I'm in my 20s,but that's not old yet, either,) You should remember that you are only as old as you let yourself feel, and in that sense. Love yourself, love your life, spoil yourself on occasions like your birthday and it'll make all the difference.
ION I had a lot of homework to do this weekend but I couldn't Finish it because of. My grandpa's birthday, and another party with all my friends from. High School. We played a one-shot game of Pathfinder, and I must say it felt sooo good to finally play a game after 2. Years. Not being. In the game. More than that if you count face to face sessions. I'm just really glad that I did not lose my touch.
A friend of mine who is relatively new in our group sat with us and listened in while 4 of us who've known each other since Middle school played, he said it "was like watching the masters at work." Clearly flattery and an overstatement, but I really do enjoy that he views us so highly. I told him that we've we're used to each other's dynamics and quirks(we call em brainroaches), and our characters almost always blend well together. I also told him that he'll get there too, in time.
If any of you are curious,Spoiler: Pathfinder sessionI played a 1st level halfling sorcerer with the undead bloodline (I was told to expect undead but we never got there). All my relevant spells were enchantments, so I could just charm and hypnotize everyone. I was very mysterious, and eccentric and at the same time freaky (she was supposed to be able to enchant undead too).
There was a particular scene in the beginning where the fighter lost his ancestral sword in a spar with a big fat rich jerkface with braces and full plate armor. He had to spend what little money he had left on a handaxe. I was introduced to the group when the ranger saved me from wolves and escorted me to town to meet everyone.
There were two conversations between me and the cleric and between the ranger and fighter. And I overheard the fighter griping about his lost sword and stuff.
So when the fat jerkface came to the tavern to gloat in our faces, I quickly climbed up his belly and whispered charm person in his ear. And told the DM to roll him a will save, to which he got a natural 1.
Now we always take natural 1s and 20s to the extreme. So our DM played the friendly obese rich simpleton, and I played the adorable little girl asking him for favours with Diplomacy checks.
I got the fighter's ancestral sword back, I got the Jerkwad's sword too. I got him to apologize to the fighter (Diplomacy with a penalty but nailed it), and I got him to give us family safe. I almost took his armor too but showed mercy.
I whispered to my friends, "he's gonna remember this, so we have to scram." and we left with over 850 gp worth of swag. Everyone stared at me amazed, and I just said that I know how to talk to people, and that the fighter owes me.
Next time we sat at the tavern he came back furious, with the town guard, claiming that we stole his things. But while I hid, the others (cleric/reverend included) vouched that he did it of his own free will in an uncharacteristic streak of generosity. It was amazing to watch.
There was a battle scene the next day at church, because some evil organization tried to assassinate the mayor. The Assailant used smoke bombs and flash bangs and stuff, while i hid behind the pews and spammed hypnotism and at-will Daze (DCs 14 and 15, nothing to sneeze at for a 1st level character) and thankfully my involvement stalled the enemies and prevented everybody from dying, when our cleric and fighter fell, and the ranger was preoccupied for most of the battle trying to stop more enemies from coming.
We saved the day, the group owes me now, I'd say the mayor owes us, too, because my character was always one to keep score.
It was an amazing time, this DM improved so much since I last played with him.
