Preferred Character Round Robin: GREENHILT vs REDCLOAK
I haven't had the same character in two match ups at one time before. I hope it doesn't cause confusion.
Vote for the one you prefer.... He didn't blame me.
I ... I must succeed.

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: GREENHILT vs REDCLOAK
Let's get Blackwing in here for a proper standoff.
Redcloak's probably going to take this one by a mile. Sorry, Roy. I like the bland ones, at least.Even the wind will know agony.

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: GREENHILT vs REDCLOAK
Roy in a heartbeat. Funny, too: I imagine that if Redcloak had run into a guy like Roy early in life, Redcloak could have turned out as one of the good guys.

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: GREENHILT vs REDCLOAK
Redcloak had an impressive surge, 5 votes in a row. But Roy tied it back up 6-All. I'll be surprised if anybody in the round robin gets a crushing defeat.

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: GREENHILT vs REDCLOAK
The illustration is a good one, although it does put me in mind again of how I find it somewhat worrying that Redcloak remembers Roy so well when Roy seldom deigns to notice Redcloak at all, with additional irony points for continuing to complain about how Xykon doesn't remember his name while never referring to his "sidekick" by anything other than his race or class.
That too, especially in the Origin prequel.
Roy is a good guy and I like him, but he overlooks "the goblin" at his peril. It's Redcloak for me, unsurprisingly.

Who was the main character in Start of Darkness? That's right, Redcloak.

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: GREENHILT vs REDCLOAK
True, but to be even fairer, Haley has never spoken to Redcloak either and can't possibly know about the Crimson Mantle or the Plan, but she's demonstrated awareness of him being a threat worth individual concern.
I don't really mean to be critical of Roy, it's just a worrying setup when the strategists on opposing teams have an obvious asymmetrical awareness of each other. It's not really helped when Roy makes remarks like being thrilled at the prospect of a villain who remembers his name -- it's seriously tempting fate.

All true. But while Roy is strategist, Haley is "detector of shell games."

A Mary Sue doesn't stop being one just because of fake difficulties. Go Redcloak!

Two equally sarcastic characters, which I like... I'm going to pick the bald one.
Oh, sorry, the bald fighter.
Greenhilt.

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: GREENHILT vs REDCLOAK
...huh? Roy's hardly a Mary Sue. He consistently makes bad decisions, is far from the most powerful even in the Order itself, has plenty of genuine character flaws, and isn't inexplicably universally liked by every other character.
Edit: He also isn't able to magic himself out of every bad situation, or he wouldn't have, y'know, died.
Is there any Mary Sue trait that I missed that Roy possesses?Last edited by Potatomade; 2017-10-05 at 12:32 PM.

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: GREENHILT vs REDCLOAK
At first glance I think I like Roy more. However, I really loved Start of Darkness, probably more than any of the online comics, so I think in the end I'll go with SoD's protagonist, Redcloak.
Besides, if I don't vote for Redcloak now, it will all have been for nothing.

Re: Preferred Character Round Robin: GREENHILT vs REDCLOAK
I agree and disagree.
If he hadn't gotten the sword back it could have been a major plot point. Roy really needs that sword, for Durkon*, for Xykon, and for their respective thralls.
An incredibly tiresome plot point that just about everybody was happy to see short circuited by a new-power twist that-- while surprising-- was NOT out of the blue.
I have added [sarcasm] tags in case it wasn't clear what I was getting at before.... He didn't blame me.
I ... I must succeed.
