Jokes aside, the rules do permit for delaying the prep time, you just have to do it at the first available opportunity instead. I think 'I was dead' is a reasonable reason to have skipped your usual prep time, so all Minrah has to do is start prepping as soon as she's not-dead.

Given the option, he'd probably take a few cleric levels simply because that would exasperate Roy the most.

Maybe there's another, more powerful artifact in a different dwarven stronghold, but Thor gave Durkon the "lite" artifact because it was closer on hand. :(

Aww, I wanted to be to one to mention Kragenac's Tools. Always nice to meet another Morrowind player though.

I think Dwemer count as dwarves, since the lore calls them dwarves and goes out of its way to explain why they're called dwarves. And the event named "Disappearance of the Dwarves". Plus they lived inside mountains and engaged in heavy industry.

The Hammer of Loki Sucks could be a Hammer of Thunderbolts, but there are a few points against that, such as size, and the Hammer of Thunderbolts not actually having lightning-based abilities. It's entirely possible that Rich is simply hand-waving those parts, of course, or at least doing minor changes so it fits better.

Alternatively, it could be a Relic. The concept started with Complete Divine, and Magic Item Compendium has more with that. Rich could have modified a preexisting relic or made up one that'd fit OotS!Thor. It makes even more sense for Durkon to use one, as the "relic abilities" either need you to spend a divine spell slot of a certain level - or take the True Believer feat - to use. Say, a +1 holy shocking burst adamantine warhammer, that lets you cast certain electricity spells spontaneously, like runestaffs, if a Cleric of Thor spends a 5th-level spell slot or a character with 9 HD and the True Believer(Thor) feat. Something along those lines.

Hmm. The bit about spending a divine spell slot interests me. Does a relic express quiddity? Specifically, could the Crimson Mantle express quiddity simply by using its powers?

I don't really know. Relics do have additional powers that are activated like that, but the concept was introduced after artifacts were. That said, since major artifacts are often created by gods - which means a side effect of using Disjunction to destroy one is drawing the ire of the deity in the first place - if such a thing was possible at all, it wouldn't even need the spell slot.

The "9th-level spell slot" sounds more like ritual costs to reduce the DC of Epic Spells, though.
