    Region G25
    Commonwealth of Zara
    Vassal of the Droccen Imperium

    Leader: Governor Korima Iskanemchetna
    Round 14 (14 FC)

    Actions:

    1. [Diplomacy] Attend event

    Spoiler: Subactions
    Show
    • Gift 2 units to LYR in exchange for Elemental Implants
    • Accept all gifts

    2. [Economy] Buyout S15 Spiced Hyper Cheese TP 1: 15
Korima is the star contestant of the new gameshow, "Hyper or Spice?" which culminates in the stage being flooded with masses of Spiced Hyper Cheese. Following the event, she seems to have taken a liking to the mysterious space cheese. Most citizens assume the cheese was created by the wonders of Commonwealth science, as the Revolution is well known to be a lie (the roof over much of Souzost helps to reinforce this truth).

    3. [Economy] Bid on the Broker's Additional Information: 18
In the shifting mire of loyalties and betrayals that is the Commonwealth, one thing is constant: If you need money, bribe Korima. A not-insignificant amount of funds are withdrawn from her accounts in the Imperium and put towards the Broker's mysterious Information.

    4. [Intrigue] Surveillance of region S13: 11
Scout ships are sent out to investigate nearby unexplored space, which is in exactly the same place relative to Axiom as a whole that it was last year, 100%, promise.

    5. [Intrigue] Secret: 5

    Nonactions:

    Spoiler: News and Rumors
    Show
    • Korima flies into her first real rage on Zara when it is discovered the Entertainer has been stolen! Apparently, several years ago someone simply flew it out of its outer-system orbit to parts unknown, and the theft report was lost in a mound of paperwork. Korima is forced to settle for a much less impressive ride to Lyrae.

    The Undying Empire
Her Excellency, Jeniza Razahk, Regent of Amanyk and High Protector

    Actions:
    Rolls. Roll the second.
1: [Military] Invade G7 with five units with Phased Crystalline Emitters.

2: [Military] Invade E13 with five units under the command of Regent Jeniza Razahk with Phased Crystalline Emitters.

    3: [Philosophy]
After considerable, and shameful, delay a series of monuments are constructed honouring the fallen of the failed Antillian War on the edges of the Blessed Resting Grounds as well as smaller monuments across the other planets of the Undying Empire.

    4: [Philosophy]
A system of public grants is instituted for the benefit of communities across the Empire for the restoration of historic religious sites that have sadly fallen into disrepair over the millennia. Great effort is made to ensure that all restoration work is done according to historical designs and performed by the finest artisans.

    4: Philosophy Probe F12. Failure.
The recent revolution has led to a somewhat concerning discovery. A gulf of unexplored territory has opened up between Amanyk and Kroznar. The Empire, unwilling to antagonise the Kronin at this time with a manned exploration, but also unwilling to leave themselves open to attack have dispatched a proto-artificially intelligent probe to the region to scan it and transmit the data back.

5: [Intrigue] Investigate the location of the Library of Peace. 16.
Recent leads indicate that the library was in the vicinity of Gelean territory, but whether that is their old location or their new location is unknown and so the Inquisition is dispatched to check both leads. It is still much easier than checking the entire galaxy after all. There is some concern in regards to searching Gelean territory due to their former, and many assume continued, association with the Eradicators.

    6: [Secret]
What lurks in the shadows of Axiom? Who can say?

    Embassy Action:
Droccen - Trade Phased Crystalline Emitters to the Droccen Imperium for War Beasts and Mecha-Guardians.

    Spoiler: News and Rumours
    Show
Many in the Empire are unsure of the recent policy of invading "unclaimed" territories, but the Regent and her government assure everyone that it is an essential component of a crusade to destroy the nearby Eradicators and ensure the security of the Empire in an uncertain galaxy.

Some among the Judiciary consider sending a court summons to the Church of Iteus, citing the recent claims of the Ninurtine Empire about universal monarchy, but ultimately decide against supporting this disastrous precedent.

    Diplomacy 5
    Military 2
    Economy 3
    Philosophy 8
    Intrigue 3

    Actions for Round 14 (Rolls)
    • [Philosophy] Convert region G21 to Realtaism (Droccen Space) [14 - Success!]
On the fringes of Droccen space, The One's influence has not yet taken hold. Seeing an opportunity in reuniting with their old friends, the Celestians eagerly attempt to fill that gap before even so much as official trade relations are established. Halwell Yazhu extends his most polite and sincere greetings to Droccen Empress Sai, offering them friendship on a more official level than was previously established through the gifting of certain advertising technologies for her modern empire, as well as what can only be described as a discount big enough to make some of the resort prices in Celestia seem reasonable for a while.
    • [Philosophy] Convert region G23 to Realtaism (Ndoda Space) [18 - Must be contested by LapisCattis]
    • [Philosophy] Convert region J22 to Realtaism (Lyrae Space) [16 - Must be contested by Miltonan]
As Celestian media recovers from its position on the brink of the galaxy's obscure mid-eastern edge, so too do it's transmission to nearby stars systems. 34 hour long move 'Parallax' releases in holotheaters on the dawn of the most recent year, describing human girl Quesa Rennon's journey across time and space to save the galaxy from certain destruction, and lovingly reunite with her friends and family along the way who have been scattered through time... The film also contains plenty of Realtist ideas about the nature of the universe and existence as a whole, which may or may not be taken to heart by its viewers.
    • [Philosophy] Convert region I25 to Realtaism (Celestian Capital) [21 - Success]
The Church of Iteus has the library of Peace; a betrayal from the Rothuun's vassal against the Syndrome's vassal, despite the two of their lieges being allied. Thanks to recent intel that the Ninurtine empire is not in fact the Gelean Republic, confused investigators have to spend their time making amends with the offended nations instead of pursuing the new lead they have. Halwell Yazhu, current leader of Celestia Corp through sheer ideological prowess (aka fame) declares that the best way to fight back against a competing ideology is to be solidified in your own, and encourages further, permanent reforms to grant Realtism a seat of power within the company no matter the whims of the people.

    Round Fifteen... Loading...
The below happens between Galactic Dates 217526.0.0.81 - 2175028.0.0.80
Don’t forget to link to any rolls you make for ANY Attribute checks, plus rolls for rulers you will start using at the start of next round. If you want a new ruler in the next round, you must state so in your action post for this round and link to their rolls. Any increases from actions for this round are counted for the ruler you start your next round with (because it’s handier to account for by the co-GM), which may or may not be your current ruler.
    Good luck!
    Rules Alerts and Changes!
    • Organization Bases that are in regions unowned by players can be automatically removed with the use of specific Intrigue Special Actions. However, previously, the same was true of Org Bases that were in regions owned by players. Moving forward, protecting an Org base that is in your region will occur automatically. Instead of automatic loss, if an Organization has a base in one of your regions, the use of the Intrigue special action to remove the base forces a roll-off. The attacker’s 2d6+Intrigue score versus 2d6 + (either) the defending Organization’s Intrigue score (or) the region owner’s Intrigue score, whichever is higher. As a non-action, the owner of the region may refuse to help protect the base. In which case, the Organization’s base will be removed automatically, as though no one controlled the region. If an Organization’s base being removed is resisted successfully, the user of the Intrigue Special Action still retains their Special Action for a later use.
    • New Player Bonus Actions may also include Exploration attempts. While this does affect ‘other regions’ it does not affect them in a way that significantly gives the new player any advantage; in fact, it falls in line with what players who were here for Round 1 were capable of doing. Limiting a new player’s ability to explore would be like having a rule that, in a new Empire game, no one can explore during Round 1.
    • Using a liege score for Military War actions has been frowned upon by prior Empire! Games. After discussion, however, Empire! 5 has come up with what we feel is an acceptable solution that does allow a Liege score to be used for War actions. Keep in mind that this use is still limited to a vassal using one of their liege’s stats once per round. If a vassal player chooses to send their Leader to the Combat, they may use their Liege’s Military score for that single combat that round. If a vassal player chooses to send a no-name commander to a combat, they may use half of their Liege’s Military score in place of half of their own, for that single combat. Generals may not use a Liege’s Military score.
    • Clarification: When rolling for Tactical Maneuvering, the owner of the tactical doctrine (the roller) is resisted by the defending party (the defender). In the event of a tie, the roller succeeds.

During the efforts to analyze the biosphere of Ir, numerous extremely advanced facilities were found all around the globe. These technological bastions were essential in accelerating the Tezh Consensus recovery efforts as they contained detailed data about the planet and a huge variety of scientific equipment with which to work - saving years of infrastructure assembly to get the project under way. Thus, a plan to rehabilitate and teraform the planet is fully developed and already under way with a side benefit being the existing equipment can be used for all manner of scientific pursuits. With gifts from the Djinye the Hunter’s Lodge pioneered by Predator in JachtGrond was well stocked with fine accommodations. The longtime warrior for the Mier Formica Queen retires from military service desiring to spend his final years training the next generation of warriors. Reports of some kind of solar system sized Sphinx appearing in Svaatyr space trickle in to the other Stellar Powers; whether or not this is true is up for debate, but what is true is that the Svaatyr, as a power, is decimated. Something certainly happened to destroy a large majority of their ships, and destabilize their governments across multiple sectors of space!
The SVA capital region is no longer controlled by a player. SVA as a player Power is no more; what remains will need to be explored again. All regions formerly owned by SVA are considered ‘Unexplored’. All Trade Posts in former SVA space still function.

Long silent after what was thought to be the end of their greatest civil war, it seems the Kryptids continued to fight internally, to the point that all of their former holdings and alliances deteriorated. The Kryptid Civil War, apparently, still goes on… but what exactly happened is unclear!
The KCW capital region is no longer controlled by a player. KCW as a player Power is no more; what remains will need to be explored again. All regions formerly owned by KCW are considered ‘Unexplored’. All Trade Posts in former KCW space still function.

The actions of Brez Y’ett were put on trial, but apparently, the actions of the Caller AI Conveyance to answer Y’ett’s ‘requests’ were not sufficient punishment. The Unified Public Trust and the Symbraum collapse from the many new enemies on their borders!
The UPT capital region is no longer controlled by a player claiming ownership of UPT as a player Power. UPT as a player Power is no more; what remains is not ‘Unexplored’, and can be claimed or conquered as normal. The UPT capital will continue to resolutely defend itself from all attackers, until it is conquered or claimed. All Trade Posts in former UPT space still function.

The Kronin have captured a Same Core and with it opened a potential avenue of research into the mechanisms of the Same. This intel could provide incredibly valuable insight to the efforts of the CPC and their allies but first it would need to be contained. The Same Core was a ticking time bomb waiting to resume elimination and assimilation the moment guard over it was dropped. While it would be a simple matter to destroy the Core and prevent its spread senior CPC officials believe a rapid effort to lockdown and contain the Core could allow research to be conducted on the Same version free from the threat of annihilation. Work would have to proceed rapidly however and so the Core Patrol reaches out to the races of Axiom seeking aid for their containment efforts of the captured Same Core. Enough answered the call to create appropriate Lockdown Protocols.
CPC, GLR, KRO, MFM, & SUN complete Same Core v0.16 Lockdown Protocols 5/5! GLR, KRO, MFM, & SUN each gain +1 Favor from CPC. Investigation actions into Same Core v0.16 are now “safe” for Rounds 15 and 16, barring outside interference. Outside interference will cause the GM Team to roll 1d5. On a 3 - 5, interference is stopped. On a 2, the Same Core is successfully destroyed to prevent an outbreak. On a 1, whatever plans the Outside interference may have can then proceed, with additional rolls as needed.

Long having information that the Same use some advanced form or predictive battle array, the Geleans send a special team led by the Gray who heads the security company, Auroran Ideals. A supposedly very well liked company by Emperor Bonaparte, the CEO Harken Forthwith is among the Gelean’s for most experts on the Same. His people like him as well, because he doesn’t send anyone into danger if he can go himself; and the team returns victorious, and very quickly too!
GLR steals technology from the Same! Targeting Software [Reconnaissance and Divination], +1 to Tactics Rolls, Requires: Hard Metal.

It is a sad day for the Star League. The Vilari Fleet Master Slidyr-Vos dies, defending against an attack by the ANE. The Eradicators were in Vilari space in what seems to be an effort to commandeer and forcibly ‘recruit’ Star League members, but the valiant Fleet Master and his flagship vessel were nearby. The Fleet Master’s ship took heavy fire, but held out until reinforcements arrived; not soon enough, however, as the flagship explodes. Seeing the stalwart defenders have a further righteous cause for vengeance must have scared the Eradicators away, because the attack immediately halted after the Fleet Master was confirmed dead. This leads some to believe that was the Eradicator’s goal all along… but why?
VSL General, “Fleet Master Slidyr-Vos” is slain by the ANE.

It seems like someone found out that the Church of Iteus has ownership of the Library of Truth. A very crafty replica was created, but Church of Iteus faithful were able to spot the difference far more quickly then anyone anticipated; nearly immediately, in fact! While the information of ownership seems to have leaked to the public, the Church does manage to stop the thieves before they escape with their prize... but not before the thieves themselves make it out, leaving no clues as to whom they were or whom they worked for.
ITS keeps the Library of Truth, and has no idea whom attempted to take it at this time.

EAA efforts to negotiate a claim over N6 in exchange for a favor to the current residents, the ANE, proceeds well enough. Prime Minister Khyran Rhys Evindal managed to navigate the dangerous environment that the cult lives in and speak near-directly to the Shadow Admiral himself to discuss the matter. 35 hours later, without warning, the ANE base in N6 that was being communicated with spontaneously erupts into death and fire, with little to no survivors. ...No favors were technically spent, but it seems like it might be impossible to leverage their aid now.
There was no warning. Only a few Eradicators whom were near escape vessels were able to get away, and not without injury. There were no threats, no grandstanding, no messages for great justice. Just one moment the base was fine, and the next? It was fire and death everywhere.
ANE Base in N6 is destroyed!

Speaker Ren-Kulto suffers an unfortunate accident! The Vilari leader was exiting a ship to visit a Star League planet, when they slipped and fell down, completely off the ramp. Normally, this would have been just an embarassing, possibly even harmful, political snafu... however, the ship, ramp, and dock in question were some seventy feet off the ground. Gravity is not merciful, and expresses no regret that the Speaker is dead. The timing is odd, though, as the Fleet Master died only a short while ago...
VSL leader, Speaker Ren-Kulto, dies unexpectedly. X14 is in Unrest. VSL must roll up a new leader. Stat bonuses are as normal for a 4 or higher in a stat, and Round 14 actions boost the stats of the new leader.

During Aneb Two-Guns party to celebrate his forthcoming coronation, a large fight broke out. This is nothing unusual for the Rothuun, and Aneb is unhurt. He rather enjoyed himself, actually, and many Rothuun are satisfied that their leader can handle himself in a brawl. Aneb suspects, however, that there may have been someone other than a Rothuun trying to kill him. He intimidates his guards into being more watchful for the next couple of years, promising to kill them if he dies. Asking around, the Rothuun who were part of the brawl mention that they just felt a sudden desire to try and kill Aneb… which either means that someone tried to control them, or… it was a Tuesday.
RGH survives an assassination attempt! RGH gains a +2 to resist assassinations during round 15! There is no physical evidence as to whom was trying to kill Aneb Two-Guns, but it may have been started with psionic manipulation of some kind!

    Discovery!

Arkeesaya, the Most Diligent, is not an OI that often provides specific information outside logistics that help run the day to day of the Federated Church. So it comes as some surprise when the Revered One provides specific coordinates to a relatively empty sector of space. The Rass are quick to send a team to explore the area, and they locate what they determine to be a Caller Fragment! Examining it, they are able to figure out why it was the Most Diligent whom sent them this way...
FCO recovers the Caller Fragment, Enterprising Notion. Once per round, +1 to Expedition Explorations [OR] +1 to Economy GPs every fourth action taken for that Great Project.

A collaboration between the Grymlan and Nxyian intelligentsia seems far more fruitful than some skeptical Nxyians may have anticipated. Approximately 10^12 of OwO’s computer models indicate that while this wormhole appears to be stable, the odds of opening a second stable wormhole are...Beyond anyone’s current means. However, a miracle of mad science may be able to briefly open an unstable wormhole between two points in Axiom. Some scientists suspect that the intelligence known as conveymance may know more about the secrets of sustainable wormhole creation.
OwO and NYX complete Wormhole Research 5/5

The Broker, in an independent market, still manages to make quite a bit of funding. First from the Djinye National Front, by selling them a Caller Fragment, and then with just a few words spoken to the Commonwealth of Zara.
DNF buys Clarity of Vision from the Broker!
CWZ purchases the Broker’s Additional Information!

The Ndoda hatching time is an exciting time for the Stellar Power. Many projects and other great works are left alone, sometimes even unattended, for this holiday. It is one such project that is returned to after much revelry for the Ndoda scientist to find that their research into Caller Fragments has borne fruit! Now, however, they are unsure what direction to take their research, and therefore bring the data they have so far - that some Fragments might very well fit together - to Umkhonto Malyat Elunxwemeni to decide...
NDA unexpectedly learns more about Caller Fragments! Some Fragments can be combined together! {CHOICE} During Round 15, NDA may either spend an [Intrigue] Investigation action (TN 10) to try and locate a missing Fragment {OR} NDA may use (2) Philosophy actions before the start of Round 17 to Further Research Fragment Combinations and learn more about which Fragments do or do not combine.

The Ninurtine assigned to look into the Itean priest, or former priest more accurately, known as Cranus find themselves looking into a rather strange little man. Cranus, a former deacon from the Church of Iteus, had been sent by his government to make contact with the Same early in the Maturated Age and in doing so the man proceeded to lose his mind. Believing a fusion with the Same will offer salvation Cranus has inexplicably survived a number of what should otherwise have been lethal encounters leading to speculation regarding the legitimate effectiveness of his Same augmentations. While Cranus has not been spotted in some years those who keep an eye on such curious figures, the Ninurtine now among their number, have reason to suspect Cranus had somehow actually gotten in contact with a Same version. Just what that meant was unclear but Cranus is noted as a dangerous individual who should be captured or killed on sight. NUT investigates Cranus of ITS

With a direction in mind, and a seemingly lack of care in respecting intergalactic borders, the Treasure Reclamation Team from the Undying Empire continue to look for the Library of Peace. The Geleans, however, are not very forthcoming with information, and while the Treasure Reclamation Team is fairly convinced that the Gelean Empire is the end of the threads of their search, they are not able to pin down any evidence or, indeed, confirm the Geleans have the fragment at this time. They can confirm they are being met with (polite) resistance to their inquiries, which is odd, but is not itself evidence.
TUE investigates the whereabouts of the Library of Peace, and seems sure that GLR has the fragment, but is not able to confirm their suspicions nor determine a precise location.

Ninurtine, Duenem, and Syndrome diplomats explore the recently shuffled space in order to find new frontiers. After months of searching, the brave explorers, first Ninurtine, then the Syndrome, and then the Duenem, discover a world cloaked in an emerald sky. On the planet’s surface, lies a civilization of humanoids deformed with extra arms, skin as smooth as marble, and hair dyed a rainbow of exotic colors. Despite, or perhaps because of their deformities, the mutants appear to be unearthly beautiful to observers. Further contact with the ambassadors reveal the local culture to be posh and obsessed with a “noble aesthetic.” NUT, DNM, & SYN Inquest S25 which contains a [Great] resource of [Mutants], an Open LC, and 1 unit of Atomic Defenses!

Ndoda diplomats bravely explore new frontiers in search of a growing cornucopia of resources to monopolize. Soon they come across what appears to a giant monster passively orbiting a blue supergiant. Called the Minea by the small group who’ve deigned to colonize its thousand-mile backbone spines, the monster is renowned for the production of its tears. Minean tears are famous for their extremely high nutritional content, able to serve as a form of sustenance for both animals and plants. The Minean colonists are eager to sell their harvested tears to whoever is willing to give them access to the means to traverse the stars as the Ndoda do. NDA Inquests D18 which contains a [Great] resource of [Minean Tears] and an Open LC!

Ndoda diplomats quickly find a world occupied by a group of smoking Cameloid cyborgs surviving within a desert hellscape. Long ago the Cameloids lived in a verdant world, but after insulting a group of chauvinistic space-jocks the planet was glassed. Eons of wind and erosion slowly turned the glass into sand, while the remaining Cameloids were forced to don cybernetic enhancements in order to survive the planet’s harsh environment. Observations of Cameloid civilization show a heavy preference for diesel-powered machines filled with mighty oiled gears. NDA Inquests E17 which contains a [Great] resource of [Subaerial Camel Oils], an Open LC, and 3 Units of Cameloids!

Wonders await these Ndodan explorers who come across a vast array of garden worlds, temperate ocean worlds, and mineral rich worlds tucked away like some forgotten stockpile arranged by some ancient civilization. Given recent experiences with the Revolution the idea of collecting planets in one place no longer seemed outside the realm of possibility to any sufficiently educated and open mind. Whoever or whatever had done so, assuming it wasn’t some once in a million fluke of good luck, is left to be a mystery while Ndodan efforts focus on cataloguing the most valuable trade goods in the sector. NDA Expeditions D26 which contains a [Good] resource of [Undefined] and an Open LC! Great Project: Uncover the Secret of the System Builders (1/5)!

As a Kronin armada scouts the domain of v0.03 they discover a system near empty of civilization. By all appearances, v0.03 has achieved dominance, now only producing drones in a bid to expand its domain. Rumor has it that the AI is conflicted between fighting the newly maturated and fighting other same, as the sector is littered with half-finished projects targeting who knows how many foes. One creature that seems to survive in this environment is the elusive Star Ray, giant manta ray Esque creatures that live on the surface of stars. KRO Recons J14 which contains a [Good] resource of [Fauna], an Open LC, 3 Units of Same Drones under Same v0.03 (9)!

Under the supervision of Empress Sai, Droccen fleets scour the realm of v0.19. At a brisk professional pace, the Droccen veterans are able to build a profile of v0.019. Influenced by an unknown substance, v0.19 routinely appeared to destroy and recreate its own drones with near infinitesimal differences. V0.19 does this to the near exclusion of all outside stimuli, as the AI was taken by surprise at the presence of a maturated race. DCC Recons J18 which contains a [Good] resource of [Drug], an Open LC, 3 Units of Same Drones under Same v0.19 (8)!

A noble knightly entourage sallies forth into the Core and makes a disturbing discovery. Sisterhood snapshot data is proven to no longer be accurate regarding this cluster of space as v0.12 is nowhere to be found but v0.11 appears to be communicating and conveying itself not merely within the confines of sector N14 but out along multiple vectors indicating what can only be a multisector holding. An oppressive drone presence buzzes around fuel depots erected throughout the region and the homogeneous droids echo their call out into the void, “In the name of the Source, that which is different will continue to be purged." Fuel seems to be furthering Same activities beyond this region of space but the Clone Knight reconnaissance also reveals shipments to a system project whose speculated intention is to rip open a black hole or connection to the Source of Hearth. KNV Recons N14 which contains a [Good] resource of [Fuel], a KISS LC, 4 Units of Same Drones under Same v0.11 (9)! Great Project: Channeling the Source (1/5)! KNV has +1 to Conquest of N14 in Round 15!

Tezh operatives search a sector of space long thought to be cursed. Guided by locals attuned to the source, the diplomat’s adventure to the infamous “End,” a portion of the sector arrived with the Eradicators encased in unpierceable darkness. Centered between a binary system of black holes, Castle Doomrift serves as the impenetrable fortress of the Eradicators. Even the slightest navigational error can cause a ship to plummet within the inescapable gravity well of the black holes surrounding the sequestered mobile base. TZH Probes H32 which contains a [Great] resource of [Grim Leaf], an Open LC, the ANE HQ, and 7 Units of Eradicator Hopefuls! TZH has +1 to Convert H32 in Round 15!

Well funded and well supplied Etherite voyagers find a system filled with destroyed planets. Long ago this system seemed to be the center of a master stellar empire until its home star unexplainably went hypernova demolishing the entire sector in a burst of cosmic radiation. But from the destruction of one civilization comes the birth of something else. The hypernova subsequently deposited untold amounts of an exotic metal called Belter on nearly every stellar body. While this has attracted thousands of miners who congregate in various space stations across the sector, it has attracted a different sort too. Hundreds of Eradicator ruffians have made this sector their home, pillaging various miner settlements for fun and profit. ETL Expeditions B6 which contains a [Good] resource of [Belter], a The One LC, an ANE Base, and 3 Units of Eradicator Hopefuls!

In search of a signal originating from unknown space Celes diplomats make their first foray outward since the second revolution. Slavishly following the signal to its origin, they find a seemingly empty terrestrial world filled with gigantic genetically modified flora. Further inspection reveals that the genetically modified have taken over turning many of the former residents into giant yams. After searching through the abandoned cities, they find the origin of the signal, a humanoid only partially converted into a mega yam who has declared himself ruler of this planet of the yams. CEL Inquests Y7 which contains a [Good] resource of [Mega Yams] and an Open LC!

On the way to exploring a sector of unknown space Syndrome agents stop by the local space chicken franchise, General Moe’s. Unlike other General Moe’s this franchise appears to have created a highly devoted following of cultists. The cultists and devotees worship what outsiders call the ultimate sauce. A sauce so transcendent its able to elevate even the most mediocre of chicken products. SYN inquests R16 which contains a [Great] resource of [Ultimate Sauce], an Open LC, 1 Sauce cultists(8)!

After a year of hard work, the Rocthuri wayfinders come across a community of biomechanical beings known as the Shifters. By all appearances they are able to freely shapeshift into a number of organic and inorganic forms alike. Investigations by the Rocthuri evangelists reveal that the cause of this miraculous stability is due to the presence of Fy Line particles. Fy Line Particles are a special type of particle emitted when stellar bodies made of strange matter collide into the regions resident neutron star. • Support ETL buyout of two TP's in TZH controlled space through end of round 15

    News and Rumors:
    • Citing an under-served population throughout a significant portion of the Celenian nation, devoid of any sort of guidance from their leadership other than that of ultra-nationalist regime, the leadership council of the Tezh Consensus is convinced to allow teams of educators and public outreach volunteers to two sectors to establish learning centers where none had been before. Teams which are also given medical triage training, basic body armor, and matter of fact counseling that things could go very badly as there is a definite chance for violent reprisal from the local government. It is hoped that they can provide necessary support and services to those in need, despite the potentially hostile setting they are walking into.
    • Official news resources are silent on the issue, but fringe rumor rags are buzzing with tidbits of information they say smells of conspiracy. With the recent efforts to engineer a path for the latest addition to the Consensus - Ir - back to it's previous Gaia state of ecological beauty and abundance, ancient technology was uncovered; technology that bears striking resemblance to existing Tezh designs. The implications of this, when the surroundings and events precipitating the disaster that left a 150km sphere of crust missing date back tens of thousands of years, is unclear but speculation has always been the currency of tabloids and theories abound. One particular publication, notably the one responsible for breaking the story about an encrypted Tezh data burst from a number of years back, makes mention of one further seemingly unrelated detail: Talotius - Former Speaker of the Consensus - has not been seen in some time, Their last noted public apperance occurring a short period before the work on Ir began.
    • The response to One infrastructure being established in CEL space - that being the obstreporous claim about how it constitutes a breach of terms to an aged agreement made with the Chorus many years back - forces historians to dig through the Tezh public archives for said agreement to see just how badly things may have been botched; as it was an agreement made under previous leadership (Talotius), prior to two galactic shuffles, and with numerous other events that may have rendered the negotiations moot. What they found was a handshake agreement between leadership for One educational centers to be placed in regions with CEL's blessing in an attempt to avoid being subverted at a governmental level by the Syndrome and the Church of Iteus.

To wit: "The One can have those two LCs with my support. I may need help defending my LCs from SYN and ITS" and then further clarifying "You will have to leave my capital alone, but I definitely want you guys to have at least 2 border regions."

These notes, obtained from Talotius' time in office, mark the only official documentation of the agreement. As such, current Speaker for the Tezh Consensus, Brigid, goes on record with a public video broadcast regarding the claims of Celenian leadership:

"We offer no comment on the actions of the UNN in their choice to cause interruptions to the broadcasting system in the Celenian capital, since all members of the Uplift Chorus are individual entities that merely share a common perspective. General Secretary Geri Gates is free to lead his nation as he sees fit and the counsel of the Chorus is here should he seek it. Regarding the accusations that the Tezh have breached the terms of the agreement, we respectfully disagree. There may be ambiguity about where the 'border' in question might be, as the contents of Axiom have been tossed like a child's toy by Conveyance twice, but the original concern remains the same and if anything the Church of Iteus has grown in potency and reach while the Celenian state has done precisely nothing since the days of the agreement to enhance the protections they were concerned about. As such, The Chorus - the Tezh specifically, so far - are acting according to terms set prior where two education centers were placed with support and the implication of 'at least two' is being carried out with these further education centers being constructed in regions where no such infrastructure had been before, without Celenian support."

There is a pause as Brigid takes a sip of water "The Celenian leadership may address General Secretary Geri Gates directly if they wish to make demands about actions taken by the UNN, but no action taken so far or yet under official Chorus guidance is in breach of terms set many years ago with an informal request. To be succinct, they can take the demands for remuneration and sh.." **the broadcast abruptly ends and regular programming resumes throughout the consensus**
    • The Tezh Consensus was not-so-secretly keeping tabs on the Shadow Admiral, as the nation had an open distaste for ANE to start with which only got exacerbated by the anarchic suicide pirates purging a Learning Center without provocation (well, except where merely existing within reach is considered provocation). Rumor had it that the nations leadership had been on the cusp of taking rare and extreme action against the rogue faction when - as the galaxy is wont to have it - everything went sideways. The Shadow Admiral went on an unexpected excursion and within a short period ANE had been supplanted by the WKA, still a somewhat shady group but apparently more interested in artifacts and archaeology than straight up chaos and murder.

The leadership council of the Consensus was quiet on the topic for some time before it seems that whatever appendage was hovering over the trigger to action against the ANE was quietly relaxed with a statement of cautious support - not for the WKA itself yet (that organization is still too young and has not given a measure of it's actions vs it's dictates) but for the end of ANE. Amistad, commander of the military arm of the Consensus, was noted as saying that remnants of the Eradicators still present at H32 will be given a chance to stand down as the Consensus enters the region, and that the - now WKA - base at B6 will remain under observation while communications and relations are established with the leadership of the Witch Knights; the wording suggests that intel had been being actively gathered prior to an imminent strike on both locations.
    • With the sudden and conspicuous losses of both the Vilari General and Vilari Speaker, the Tezh offer their condolences to the nation and a gesture of stellar kinship by leveraging their considerable intelligence assets on the Vilari's behalf with no mention of recompense. They send forensic teams of all stripes (military, tech specialists, and more) to the Vilari and the battle site itself to analyze data recorders, wreckage, transmission histories, the works. Their goal is clear: Investigate whether this was a legitimate 'recruiting run' by the ANE or if that effort was just a cover for a surreptitious hit on the Vilari General, as the events abruptly changed course when the prominent figure died during the battle.

Yes, it is really encrypted. Yes, it is possible to decode/solve; I put these out specifically with the HOPE that people will solve it. If you plug the encoded text into this tool and figure out the password, the knowledge is yours. The password will be 0-5 characters, and are directly related to the game (participants, events, etc) - someone with a keen eye or logical guessing can reveal everything. If you figure it out, hit me up and we can talk about it more if you feel like it. If you're stumped I may give out hints, talk to me.

    [Military] Defend S21
Using 13 units, led by Mech-Admiral Arxur (8), equipped with Energy Conversion Weapons, Engineered Monstrosities Enhanced Microplating, and Lyraean Elemental Implants(+5), total +26
The unprovoked attack by the Ninurtines is met by considerable force. The Syndrome will no longer fold over in response to attacks, but rather push back at the aggressors with the full strength of the Protectorate navy.

[Military] Create Tactical Doctrine: Pincer Attack
On a successful tactical roll, gain a +3 to the Combat Roll. For each owned region that is not being attacked this round and is adjacent the battle's location, gain +1 to the Combat Roll, up to a maximum of an additional +3, for a total maximum of +6 from this Tactical Doctrine.
The Krankot have quickly become the leaders of the military arm of the Protectorates, and it is their strategies which are taught in military academies across Syndrome space. They favor an assault from all sides, outflanking from multiple directions to shatter enemy formations.

[Intrigue] Investigate the attempted murder of Aneb Two-Gun (UNKNOWN-8)
Someone tried to kill Aneb Two-Gun. The Rothuun have been close allies to the Syndrome, and it doesn't take long before the investigative team that discovered the ALL is sent to look into a much less successful assassination. All eyes watch to see who is to blame.

    Grymlan Combine

    Round 15
    Regions: M31, N30, N32, O31
    High Coordinator Flash Starshine

    Diplomacy: 6
    Military: 7
    Economy: 6
    Philosophy: 10
    Intrigue: 6

    Actions
    • [Philosophy] (Special 10) Miracle: Applied Theoretical Max-Energy Unstable Space-Punch Travel-Gates. - After many years of studies and cross-referencing various other fields of study through UwU. OwO and its Techies are able to improve on the research born from Combine/Nyx cooperation to produce a formula that could potentially tear open the space between two points in time with a relatively generous success rate, however such endeavors would require the advanced processing power afforded by OwO assemblies.
Once per round, Faith Head may spend a Philosophy action, and rolls 2d6 with no bonus to die roll. At max, one wormhole may be opened in this fashion at a time, and no further attempts to open wormholes can be made until the currently open wormhole expires if one exists.
      • 2: GM's Choice! (Something happens, probably not good, you find out during the opener)
      • 3-5: Nothing happens
      • 6: A wormhole between two OwO Assemblies is established, lasting (2) rounds, and both regions are in unrest because of the explosion
      • 7: A wormhole between two OwO Assemblies is established, lasting (2) rounds
      • 8-9: A wormhole between two OwO Assemblies is established, lasting (3) rounds
      • 10: A resource in the region an OwO Assembly is in is increased, as though an Econ 5 (Upgrade Resource Quantity) was used on it. Ownership of the TP goes to the owner of the region with the Assembly. If all regions with Assemblies are already at [Great], nothing happens.
      • 11: A member of the wormhole team is blasted with particles, and has a new idea. An Econ 5 (Adapt Technology) may be used next round, and does not expend the Leader's Economy 5 Special Action.
      • 12: GM's Choice! (Something happens, probably good, you find out during the opener)
    • [Intrigue] SECRET [15] (roll adjusted to correct stat)
    • [Philosophy] Convert NYX(M21) from KISS to OwO 2d6+10 (supported): [13] Redoubling their efforts the Combine's techies manage to secure and build an OwO hub in NYX, granting the public there legal access to UwU. In an effort to win over more people and solidify their hold with the populace, the combine begins looking for new sources from which to draw shows from by reaching out to the people of Nyx with various opportunities to not only produce content for UwU (in addition to having access to OwO's libraries) but also including polls on what kind of future products and shows the Nyxian people might be interested in seeing in the future. Unsurprisingly with the new viewership the ever popular Droccan Delights channel saw a large bump in its ratings.
    • [Diplomacy] Stabilize M31 2d8+7 (Specialized Public Wantneed Fixrig Strategies, +1 from 5 LC bonus): [11] - Unlike the diplomatic team sent to Symbio-Storm, the Harb-Cloud team was an abject failure in their efforts to smooth things over with Harb. The two lead negotiators, Fronz Chitterwind, and Haiden Natters were fired for what Flash called, "busy-work" given the group's tragic miscommunication despite the fact that groundwork for communication with Harb had long since been in place through the use of UwU. An emergency team is sent out to avoid further degradation of relations between the Combine and Harb.
    • [Diplomacy] Stabilize O31 2d8+7 (Specialized Public Wantneed Fixrig Strategies, +1 from 5 LC bonus): [12] - A far cry more approachable than previous occupying forces dedicated to An'null, Combine diplomats makes great strides in settling the Symbio people down by returning High Mother As'lyeth to her people. Negotiations go well as the Combine offers to grant the Symbio Magocrisy control of the region under Combine protection, naturally. Grymlans along with the Lopurna leave a small expedition in Symbio-Storm to both begin construction of a new orbital trade hub, but also to educate the inhabitants on both the joys and dangers of space.

    News and Rumors
    • Flash sends a tersely worded message to the Sunbream and Wardens, condemning the actions of the Sunbream for building an ANE base near Combine space, and the Wardens for assisting them. The message adds that should the Sunbream refuse to deal with the ANE infestation in their space, that the Combine will be forced to take actions to protect themselves.
    • In response to the Sunbream, Flash points out that when the Sunbream's projects interfere with Combine affairs, it becomes the Combine's business.
    • In lighter news the Veritus Iuvo is returned to his people. Iuvo had been taken as a cultural ambassador from his people and the Combine, the Veritus had been returned with a gift basket of information regarding their neighbors along with a bunch of pamphlets extolling the benefits of gaining access to UwU through OwO.

Grimjoi Fluffkin is sent as an ambassador to the Veritus to officially begin diplomatic relations with the skittish people.
    • The announcement of vassalization follows in the wake of many heated debates on UwU between Combine members. In closing remarks before the vote, Flash emphasized the Combine's need for allies (which the Lyreans have been for a while) and further unity and cooperation with said allies to expand the reach and scope of Combine interests. The vote passed with 69% of the thirteen recognized corporate heads agreeing to the motion.
    • The conversion of ANE to WKA is a troubling change among the Combine. Though the ending of the pirate organization was lauded as a good thing, what replaced it may very well be something worse.
    • Darkship fleets return to station in DregIsle for retrofits. The upgrades come seemingly out of the blue, with strange new designs and equipment being churned out of Combine R&D. Smaller new drone swarm fighters replacing most of the Zippy-Zap fighter craft along with many of the larger ships systems being integrated with OwO nodes to allow for greater intraconnectivity between systems as well as granting finer control over their operation.
    • Spoiler: Combine Corporations
      Show

      Corporations of the Combine

The government of the Grymlan Combine consists of several corporations that both coordinate with, and against, each other in deciding how the efforts of the Grymlan people are applied. The Corporations are patrons and financial backers to research, production, and distribution groups typically within a certain field of Grymlan life and their internal structure represents the same general structure of the Combine at large.

As such, Leadership among the Grymlans is based on election, with canidates chosen both on their stance with the individual corporation and the needs of the Grymlan people as a whole. Unsurprisingly, corruption is not uncommon among Grymlans leaders. Corruption is expected by the general populace as long as it has reasonable limits. Leaders are expected to have their own personal projects they're working on as long as they meet the needs of the Grymlan people. Given the inquisitive nature of Grymlans as a whole, an the high profile nature of the leadership, Grymlan politicians tend to have Cat and Mouse games between themselves that the populace tends to keep abreast of as a form of entertainment. Should such a leader be deemed insufficent, whether by incompetence, corruption, or changing needs of the people, they can be voted out of their position by the Corporations under them (though the state in which they are voted out might dictate the terms of their severance).

      Some Corporations of the Combine.
      • Foodstuff Solutions: Headed by Abrigal Dirtpaw, Foodstuff Solutions represents many agricultural interests in the Combine. Their farms provide food to feed the Grymlan people as well as providing other materials to the other Corporations. Their labs work to improve existing crops while at the same time they are always on the look out for new potential products to grow and experiment with.
      • Max Zappyzap Projections: Lead by Dhaka Sparkthrower, Max Zappyzap Projections is the closest thing the Grymlans have to a security Corporation. In prior years they were an arms manufacturer who designed energy casters for Grymlan ships to protect them against space debris. They also did research into high energy release weapons that largely went unused (I mean of course you gotta set one off just to make sure it works, we didn't need that asteroid anyways) but did result in research with Arclight Power that provided the primary fission reactors that provide power to the Grymlan's cities and ships. Nowadays they serve as one of the military minded corporations expanding the Grymlan's knowledge of tactics and equipment as they are exposed to new races.
      • Arclight Power: Lead by Dayton Voltzap, Arclight Power serves the Grymlan's ever-growing need for power. They are the formost researchers in high energy fields and often looking for new elements or ways to use them alongside Max Zappyzap Projections.
      • Fluffyshine Grooming: Headed by Celise Dyedye, Fluffyshine Grooming provides cosmetics and grooming supplies to the Grymlans. Proper grooming, especially of their tails, is considered a necessity by the Grymlan populace. • Darkship Fleet Darks-Seer: Drawing upon the newly inducted Lopurna, Darkship Fleet Dark-Seer has several cruiser class ships created in a melding of Grymlan and Lopurna designs supported by Grymlan Zippyzap fighter craft. The The cruisers have several rapid fire zapcaster turrets dedicated to point defense and fighter denial systems, there are several crystaline emitter strips that run the lengths of the ship allowing the Lopurna crew to lash out with deadly psionic energy lances in lieu of the heavy zap cannons found on other Grymlan based warships.
    • Aetherweave Assault Corps: Those Lopurna trained to act as soldiers train their psionic abilities to enhance their physical capabilities, moving with preternatural grace, strength, and precision. As situations call for it, small communions can be levied to increase their capabilities such as against hardened targets or evading detection.

Where previous iterations of darkship fleets focused on a slow, steady, approach to combat, Darkship Fleet NovaBloom represents the application of prototype explosive tech and changing ideas on approaches to naval doctrines.

    • From the desk of the Doge: "The unwarranted, unjustified and reckless actions taken by Aneb Two-Gun has caused a recall of the Etherite Diplomatic mission on the planet Taurina I. We had hoped that even after the transition of power to Aneb Two-Gun that reasonable relations with their neighbors would be possible but that does not appear to be the case as the attacks on both Sanctum and the Brezhuq Reach now show. Continued aggression of this nature is not warranted in the best of times, much less now when the threat of the Same still exists and the Rothuun are one of the bulwarks against that threat."
    • The fracture and reformation of the majority of the An'Null Eradicators into the Witchknights of the Apocalypse sends ripples across the worlds of the Etherite Trade League. The change brings about a favorable reaction and hope for the work to help continue the awakening of nearby peoples that has been started. Alternative magical traditions are seen as a welcome addition to a galaxy on the brink.
    • Continued colonization from many of the varied peoples of the Trade League move to populate and study the world and region of Horizon. Controls are put in place to ensure that the growth is a slow curve that doesn't harm the overall ecosystem of the planet. Example cases from Horizon are brought back to Schizaphis as examples of how to better co-exist within an environment while still bringing about a better overall living condition.

    News and Rumors:
-Iuvo eventually returns from his time among the OwO, mentally and physically shattered. It takes several weeks for him to leave psychiatric care, and when he does, he tells tales of a truly disgusting and horrifying species.

Iuvo was relentlessly pestered for information on Timens, and the Veritus-Timens. The OwO creatures seemed intent on adding the information to their UwU application, a strange device that would've been fascinating were it not so disgusting. Iuvo had attempted to make use of it, but the data included was contradictory in many cases, inane in others and still outright disgusting in others. (Rumors report Iuvo crying about "Two Os one W", whatever that means). Worse, the main purpose of the device was to coordinate their efforts on whatever task they sought; and Iuvo freely admits it would assit them greatly in genocide.

Worst of all, however, was the constant torture. He was chased. He tried to hide but to no avail, for they always found him (and even taunted him to even TRY and find them). They presented him with psychological puzzles based on random chance designed to break down his will to live. And worse, they called these things games. Hide and seek, tag, even card games! If this kind of torture is how the xenos have "fun", then the Veritus are in even greater trouble than they believed.

-In recognition of the horrors he had to endure, Iuvo is granted a full month of leave, and 3 mating cycles. Gods help the Veritus-Timens if the OwO ever demand another hostage. Gods help them all...

Thus, Urthuun Aneb Two-Gun submits this list of demands to the Vilari, which must be complied with if the Sodality wishes to avoid war.

    1. The organization known as the Star League must be dissolved, and its Charter revoked.
    2. The Vilari should oust their old government, and replace it with leaders of the Rothuun's choosing.
    3. The new Vilari government must pledge themselves to be members of the Sanguinary League, and behave in accordance to the tenets of the organization.
    4. The Vilari must revoke their vassalage agreement with the Federated Churches of Origin's End, ceding it, should the FCO assent, as a vassal to the Federation of Free Systems. Otherwise, the FCO must become an independent entity not associated with the Vilari Sodality.

    Republic of Celes (CEL)
Under the leadership of Consul Milton Euler
    Round 15

    News and Rumors
    • UNN and TZH are charged with violating a longstanding treaty with the Chorus in which proselytization outside of sanctioned regions was strictly prohibited. Wide scale conversions to The One religion were permitted only in W5 (the Ordivician System) and X4 (the Erebus Nebula). Aggressive propagandizing within the home system of Celes and beyond the pale and a clear violation of this agreement. Recent conversions by the UNN and TZH are illegal and contrary to the tenents of their alleged faith. Other party members of the Chorus will condemn these gross violations of Celenian sovereignty and extract from the perpetrators remunerations. CEL demands compensation in the form of 5 Units.
    • RGH is condemned for their unprovoked attack on VSL. At this point, the Consul just signs his name on a form letter that calls the Rothuun incompetent barbarians and sends Aneb a framed map of the galaxy that highlights unexplored or poorly defended regions bordering their territory.
    • Following a rambling transmission from someone named "Brigid", Celenan citizens are surprised to learn this person is, apparently, the head of an entire faith. "Ultranationalism" memes fill the hypernet as cheap xeno electronics are blamed for the mistranslation of the word "patriotism". Often, these are edited photos of a super muscular Admiral Khatri "hulking out" and smashing Union ships with her fists.
    • Press releases from the Office of the Consul, and parroted talking points on CEL VV News decry the rise in what they call "Radical Monism", a militant and subversive wing of an otherwise peaceful religion. As there is no state religion and Celenian moons enjoy the freedom to worship as they please, there are already millions of devotees to The One. #NotAllOncelers trends on social media. The Consul insists some of his best friends are Oncelers and that "most are good people."
    • Hunter Rose, a serial action drama about a sword-wielding Droccen bounty hunter navigating the seedy underbelly of Celes V's ecumenopolis, debuts to universally positive reviews, owing to its solid writing, sexy lead in Sosu Ena, and an adorable animatronic baby Hearthling in a hovering pram.

(Pink girl art credited to Ross Tran, Poster collage by Pepper)
    • CEL makes no official declaration regarding the matter, but economic sanctions targeting WWE vanish overnight.

The eagerly consent that because Celenians have begun to grow their vegetable giants for use as war beasts, that they have a vested interest in the health and well being of the entire world. Though a naive interpretation, this is not incorrect. While it is not a common tactic, naval command agrees that launching a hibernating green giant out of a torpedo tube is hilarious.
    • [Economy] Buyout X4, TP1, Singularity Coal (17, Success) - Efforts continue to capitalize on every exploitable resource within CEL space to power the military industrial complex. Or, in this case, literally power the lumbering battleships themselves. Though hazardous to collect from the Erebus Nebula, just a few kilograms of Singularity Coal are sufficient to sustain the fusion reactors of a capital ship for a year.

    The Sunbream Confederacy

    Actions

    1. [Philosophy 5] Create CoR Holy Order: Blackrush Hall in region N28 (the Spacific Cluster) A well-sealed off portion of a large neutrally buoyant piece of wreckage serves as a new base of operations for the Rass dreamdivers in the spacific. Apart from being well located for studying ruinavores and their diets and refurbishing broad-oars, it is a very secure facility, inaccessible even to Sunbreams due to the pressure. Kovan abd Zkiel, however, joins the Dreamdiver broad-oars there for the opening ceremony.
    2. [Philosophy] Convert region L24 to CoR. Roll 12 The Mechanite and Transcender spirits in the eye of Ablent are the perfect converts for the church of Rust. Two factions focused on creation, but with different ideas of what it looks like. In an attempt to incorporate this rivalry into the framework of the church of rust, the confederacy sponsors a contest in the area whereby the two compete to create the holiest creation. By leaving the judgement of the winner in the hands of the two spirits, the Sunbream missionaries hope to ensure the incorporation of the religious debate in their ongoing struggle.
    3. [Philosophy] Convert region L28 to CoR. Roll 15 The Sunbream confederacy purchases all the advertising bandwidth available at the Darkinu communications relay to begin broadcasting Dreamdiver and Sunbream messages, hopefully converting the local spirits to their way of thinking in the process.
    4. [Diplomacy 5]Create Cultural Identity: Legacy of the Liberation (Inc. Die Size on Secret Actions) The Sunbream confederacy achieved its freedom from the imperialist DCN by way of scheming and work in the shadows. Berna Bey seeks to craft this into a narrative of Sunbream and Rass teamwork, ingenuity, and heroism. The side effect this has is of passively endorsing underhanded tactics by the confederacy.
    5. [Intrigue]Investigate the Possibility of Reprogramming the Same v.0.16 to remove their Directive to make everything Same. Roll 13 The redemption of a dark god is a matter of obvious interest to all COR adherents. Sunbream and Rass technicians visit the Same core to try and extract a copy of its operating protocols, and peruse them for weaknesses to tampering.

    • Give the Favor from Completion of the WKA base in Katarsa to WWE
    • Support Conversions to Church of Rust
    • Use the FCO embassy to give the FCO EGGRE and Capital Ship Hulls in exchange for FLEX Security, Calactic Currency Mint, and HEAT engines.

    News and Rumors
The large construction projects, alien visitors, and undead broad oars all endorsed by the confederacy have set many unaffiliated Sunbream pods on edge. A few skirmishes break out on their borders with Confederacy pods, but armed with modern weaponry the Confederacy ships meet with the most success.

The Nyxian mercenary ship Forge-of-the-Free-Fighter is given a special invitation by Aysun uum Savas to visit the Spacific for a Broad-oar hunt as a show of cooperation and good will between the confederacy and the Guild-Empire. However, speculation abounds that there is more to the visit than meets the eye, and the similarity of Forge's position to the recent one of the Sunbreams is not lost upon the ships of the confederacy.

Kovan Abd Zkiel spends much time down at the new Dreamdiver base of Blackrush Hall. While many sunbreams are glad to have the eerie monstrosity out of their sight, they do wonder what work is being conducted down there.

The Grymlan Combine is informed that the Sunbream Confederacy, as a sovereign government, has the sole right to regulate construction projects within its space. Attempts to infringe upon this sovereignty will be resisted.

    Dipanan N&R
The desolation continues to mount at Shelohu colony. The latest reports suggest that the surviving kelp farms have begun conducting raids on each other for the labor force necessary to maintain their equipment.

Elsewhere in the DCN, people seem to be settling down to the new reality of life in the Sunbream confederacy. The increased market presence of Kulawe colony and the fall of Shelohu notwithstanding, life for most people isn't vastly different than it was 10 years ago.

“How are you all so calm?”

The Faivi boy asked the question with innocence unbecoming of a black ops agent. If he was here his loyalty had already been assured, so it wasn’t an expression of shock. Perhaps nervousness or inexperience motivated the question? Either way, problematic. This mission would not be easy.

“Your first time, then?” purred Phoebe, though the smile on her lips couldn’t be discerned through her neon-lined obsidian mask. This was a serious operation, and her casual environment suit had been replaced by a custom military-grade suit reinforced with nanotube armor and an internal layer of symbiotic alloy capable of peeling from the skin via electrolysis. The process was painful beyond description, but left no scars and she was well-practiced by now at meditating though the pain. Truly, she was blessed by the Source for that alone.

The other two women with her were quiet, their faces concealed by polarized photium steel, but Phoebe could feel the faintest hint of humor swell in one of their chests: Elise of Ybarra, a Class 3 esper with the ability to reliably sense concentrations of iron within a range of about four kilometers, and more importantly for this mission a skilled smuggler, who’d served out her time in the Hopefuls and chosen to go home at the end of it.

It never ended, of course. There was no escape.

The other was Genevieve of Miller, a class 1 telepathic projector; she could project phrases into the speech-related portions of a target’s brain, and make them say things. Half the time they wouldn’t even notice their mouth had been hijacked if she kept it short. It was surprising how rarely people would listen to half the things that came out of their mouths. This ability was of minimal use in direct combat, but she could handle a gun and follow orders, and that would be good enough.

The Faivi boy was a Noble whose aerokinetic capabilities were well above average, though she didn’t know him personally. He’d be the most difficult to manage, but already she twisted him around her fingers. Most people had preexisting biases, a million little things they hated. He had a surprisingly intense dislike for common Faivi, and that was something she could work with. Her powers had grown vastly since she was a fresh-faced teenager manipulating parliament, and especially since she’d grown to understand the Source. He was not strong-willed, and when they arrived at the mission site he would follow her orders to the death if need be.

    \\\ - Eight Hours Earlier - \\\

“Three more agents gone. Parliament acting to dissolve the Hopefuls. The Whaler’s Union mobilizing and manipulating events in spin…well, antispinward space…You see where this is going, don’t you?”

Elizabeth’s anger showed on her face, to those who knew her well. It was restrained, but the tweaking of the eyebrows, the gentle snarl, and the way her nose twitched…they painted a picture. Phoebe had known her for so many years now, and every single movement told a story. The pendant about her neck shifted slightly as she rocked forward in her seat, gray hair following the motion as her eyes narrowed further.

“There’s an enemy in our midst: One familiar with our methods and goals, and working specifically to counteract us. Espers, almost certainly, and a network of them; foreign, I’d imagine. Symbraum or Vilari, Symphony meddlers, or even the Kombuch.”

Phoebe was silent as Elizabeth openly worked through her thoughts.

“…They’ve been targeting agents on operations. We’ll lay a trap. You’ll go after a high-value target, and we’ll leak through the usual channels. You haven’t failed me yet, Green Eyes, not when it mattered. Don’t disappoint."

Elizabeth’s tongue was like a lash as the pendant pulsed with a discordant screech, a reminder of the price of failure. Twenty-five years ago, it had been the bane of her existence, a painful punctuation to every mistake. Tortuous beyond words, however, she persisted. Today, Phoebe turned to her acting skills to sell an adequate reaction. She couldn’t know. Not yet.

    “…Of course, Mistress.”

    \\\ - Two Years Ago - \\\

It had been a short battle. The target, General Fiona Aeternus, was a Class 4 Esper, a precognitive expelled from the Military academies of Jemisin for use of her undisclosed power during a major exam. Of course, the Emperor had picked her up at some point during his stay in Nyxian space, quickly becoming his most trusted lieutenant. Her ability was perfection itself for a military commander, the ability to determine likelihood of success of any given military maneuver in the context of a larger battle or likelihood of overall victory using known quantities expressed as a percentage. No matter how useful her powers though, they came with a fatal flaw: She had to know she was in a battle to use them. The ambush was overwhelming and swift, and Genevieve’s ability ordered the guards to surrender in their commander’s voice. Zero point one percent, she said. The Faivi boy had performed to expectations at least, manipulating the snowstorm to provide cover until it was too late to respond.

Fiona was shorter than she imagined. A curious first thought for Phoebe to have as she approached her captive, now secured in the transport, but there it was. Almost a full head shorter than Phoebe herself, dressed in a slightly-damaged environment suit, dark-skinned with brown hair and an eyepatch she liked to imply was a war wound from her younger days, though intelligence suggested was actually just hiding a lazy eye. She glanced up defiantly, without a word. Good. Phoebe flexed the power of shadow, and a snowflake occluded the camera in the corner; an “accident.” There was work to be done here, and Elizabeth could not know.

    Speaker Sildyr-Quast
    Diplomacy 6 (2+2+2)
    Military 5 (3+1+1)
    Economy 1
    Philosophy 1
    Intrigue 2 (1+1)

    Actions
    1. [Military 5] Create a General (Mil 10)
With the Vilari command structure thrown into chaos by the deaths of Sildyr-Vos and Hestyn-Vrex, the Seer Council turns to members of the former Speaker’s staff. With Ren-Kulto off-world on a goodwill tour, a senior member of his staff is chosen to take charge of the Star League’s defense. Once lauded and vilified as the one to save Korima from the Commonwealth of Zara, Dyrma-Thal’s punishment was to spend years at the side of Ren-Kulto. Now well-schooled in both diplomacy and war, he oversees the organization of homeworld defense before departing for the disputed border.
    2. [Military] Attack Region U-15 with 1 Unit led by a sub-commander (Mil 2), activating Particle Wave Cannons, Enhanced Microplating, and H.E.A.T. Engines (+7 total)
While the main Star League offensive focuses on the staging areas around Itean, Sildyr-Quast dispatches Ship-Master Qhorl-Brin with a triad of strike cruisers to seize outlying Rothuun territories.
    3. [Military] Join the FCO attack on Itean with 9 Units, activating Particle Wave Cannons, Enhanced Microplating, and H.E.A.T. Engines (+13 addition to the FCO)
Latecomers to the war, the people of Itean are held as the primary suspects in the death of Hestyn-Vrex. Absent evidence, this would not have been enough to earn reprisals from the Star League, but the system has also become the primary command center and resupply point for the Rothuun’s incursions into Vilari and Federated Churches space. Before a decisive engagement is forced inside Star League territory, the SLDF launches a counterstrike against Itean, intent on securing the region and denying the Rothuun vital supply lines.
    4. [Military] Raise 1 Unit
As the majority of the fleet moves to engage the Rothuun, the shipyards of Tsalvan continue their work. Within two years, three more cruisers will be complete, to compliment additional forces en-route from the Droccen.
    5. [Diplomacy] Stabilize Tsalvan (X-14) 13
The unprovoked attack by the Rothuun sends ripples through every Vilari reef, and it is only with concerted effort that the new Speaker is able to assure his people. Recognized as a militant who may once have welcomed war with the Rothuun, Sildyr-Quast would not have been considered for Speaker in normal times. However, forced to contend with an enemy beyond reason, he is seen as the natural choice to lead the Vilari in this time of crisis.
    6. [Diplomacy 5] Create an Embassy with the Mier Formica
As outside forces seek to undermine the Star League, the ties between its members only grow stronger. Diplomatic channels with the Mier Formica have finally matured to the point where the insectile aliens establish a permanent presence on Aspirant Landing, while a Vilari delegation is dispatched to their far-off homeworld in turn.

    Non-Actions
    • The Vilari Sodality finalizes their tactical doctrine - Warsong Harmony: On a successful Tactical Maneuvering roll, +2 to the Combat Roll and Negate All Coalition Losses
    • Accept the troops gifted by the Droccen.

    The Star League Charter

As the territories of matured species expand, and we confront growing threats from without and within, it is resolved that we gathered here affirm our principles. We, the people of the Star League, do make known these policies in hope for a brighter future for the galaxy.

    We Are Resolved

    Actions
    1. [Philosophy] Convert Celes (X6) to the One with TZH 17 - Cultural review of the Celenian Republic identifies the central pillar to objectionable Celenian behavior to be the cultural chauvinism promoted to prop up the deeply flawed Celenian government through veneration of the Celenian people above all other forms of life and national identity or authority. Introduction to the theorems of the One are expected to correct this ethnocentric mistake and aid in the transformation of the now-neighboring republic into a valuable and reliable ally with whom treaties of demarcation may be signed. While the Union was aware of bourgeois and imperialist opposition to the replacement of Celenian nationalism outstripping merit based appointments or economic reform in the name of equality they were prepared to meet these reactionary elements on the field of battle for so long as these elements might muster an opposition before being overwhelmed by the progressive forces of political and economic revolution.
    2. [Economy 10] Introduce Unlimited Transporters. Effect: Embassies, including those created by Limited Transporters, allow TPs to be transferred with one action from the sender and a non-action from the receiver rather than an action from both. Requires: Limited Transporters & Fuel - Union has always prided itself on its mutual aid programs with other stellar societies like the Rocthurhi, the Droccen, and the Vilari. Likewise it has been a proud policy of Union to acquiesce to reasonable demands such as those made by the Alysians regarding ecological concerns. However, these policies put a strain on labor and resources so work to alleviate the burdens of mutual aid and trade among associates dominates social and technological thought. Eventually full integration of resource allocation commissions with the ambassadorial and diplomatic corp of the worker's state sees a relief to the labor demand of carrying out foreign trade with properly regarded stellar powers.
    3. [Diplomacy] Continue pressing claim to U3 (2/2) - Where Celenian support had made little difference negotiations continue with the Grammarists to abandon much of their strict disciplinarian applications of linguistic rules in favor of a more holistic appreciation of various languages and their common purposes. Many made one just as shapes made letters, letters made words, and words stored knowledge. Grammarists to be pressed into service are expected to see service soon should the Celenian tensions not abate.
    4. [Diplomacy] Inquest S3 20 - Hoping to ingratiate themselves with the Alysians in anticipation of war the nearby elves are informed of an upcoming Union expedition of peace whose results would not only of course be freely shared by Union but uncontested by it should the Alysians wish to establish dominion there. It was an easy thing for a faraway power to make promises but altogether another to have good neighbors you could rely on. Union had adopted the clean energy sources advocated for by the Alysians. Would others be so willing to do the same?
    5. [Military] Raise 1 Unit of Red Fleet Warships - Whether intended as payment to the Celenian Republic in acquiescence to their demand or preparation for war additional star ships are brought up to military specifications and pressed into military service. A few new battleships take command of these otherwise motley assembled forces.
    6. [Military] Raise 1 Unit of Red Fleet Warships - Recruitment continues. New battleships take command of ragtag fleets.
    7. [Military] Raise 1 Unit of Red Fleet Warships - Officers are drafted up from the enlisted ranks to respond to a crisis regarding lack of flag officers. Promotions are widespread though their dominion over the drafted fleet was perhaps a more dubious honor.

    Non Actions
    • Permit KNV to pass through N12 to combat the Same - Hoping to remind the whole galaxy of the universally agreed upon importance of destroying the Same despite their apparent descent into madness a gesture of goodwill is made by Union to the valiant Knights Vacio. While Union's outpost on the Core stood positioned to blockade Knight incursions against the Same Union instead offers their holdings as a rest point to the knightly fleets. Whatever differences there might exist between the One and KISS the two were ultimately supposed to be on the same side in the war against the Same.

    Rocthurhi Embassy
    • Send Unlimited Transporters
    • Send 2 Units to RTH

    Lyraen Embassy
    • Facilitate the evacuation of Lyraen refugees to Union space - While Lyrae is commended for broaching dialogue with the ALL the Union recognizes why many within the organization might be wary of siding with the unaccountable autocrat and take her at her word. Purportedly moderate members are granted amnesty and evacuated to Union space in exchange for submitting lists of names to Union for turnover to the LSD. Many suspect extremists to be taking advantage of the program allowing them to escape Lyraen "justice" through retreat to the Union. For its part Union passes the lists and intel collected by this program on to Lyrae unimpeded, though other dogged rumors spin tales of alterations and redactions of officially turned over material.

    • Intrusion into Celenian space by the One is not an action taken lightly but with purpose. While teachers of the One were eager to spread their message Secretary Gates only desired to spread his. The Celenians and their wider Rose League were neither untouchable nor as deeply crouched within the shadows as they may have believed. The ultranationalist drivel of Celenian propaganda networks was as offensive as it was ignorant and their treatment of non-human non-Celenian life fostered a wider ideological drought. Gates had no great mind about him to see the Celenians embrace the One. All he should desire is that they embrace, truly embrace, something other than the self destructive idolation of themselves above all others. If that meant the Union would fight a war against the gasping hawkish claws of warpigs and generals as they were cast down by a new order of an ideologically committed Celenians following some force for the greater galaxy then so be it.

    Wardens of World’s End
    Chief Deputy Warden Echo Umberto

    Actions:
    1) [MILITARY] (SPECIAL 5) Raise a General Captain Fang. Mil 7
Captain Fang of the An'Null Eradicators was a close "Friend" and stalwart drinking buddy with the Fire Lord Vix-Tal. When the Hearthling Master roamed the stars they often traversed together, stealing ships, boarding cargo hulls, and using Sourcerous magics to evade authorities all the while. When the Source awakened powers in countless sentients throughout the galaxy the tailless Grymlan Space Pirate was amongst those most affected. At first, he regarded it as nothing more than a boost to his physical strength and already brutally fast reflexes (In addition to a neat party trick when lighting Marching Powder pipes). Exposure to the Fire Lord though, witnessing his stirring oration, and the growth of Echo Umberto's Flame powers in the short period of time he has been Chief Deputy Warden stirred something in the black heart of the Eradicator. A call to action. An inferno that cannot be quenched. Crew branded with the scorching brand of Fang's paw the Eradicator Captain has taken his first steps towards the path of Knighthood to the Source, begrudgingly perhaps on the surface, and beat senseless the first Hopeful who implied that Fang had gotten "soft". His position as lead liaison between the Eradicators and the Wardens of World's End has been taken up by his First Mate Flyk Dreadsquall.

    2) [INTRIGUE] Build WKA Base in M27 Katarsa (2/3)
    3) [INTRIGUE] Build WKA Base in M27 Katarsa (3/3)
From the far out depths of the western fringes of the galaxy where Bards battle under the Cosmos of the Universe a single Captain Ramsey Blake helming the dread galleon Godsend leaves those inky depths of starlit wonder and glamorous stages with his crew of cutthroats to reave the stars. With his First Mate Rhagor Gorestream at hand Captain Blake slowly works his way into Warden Space where he engages in a high stakes game of Rothuun Roulette with Echo Umberto. The Chief Deputy Warden was unaware of the high stakes nature of the game but won nonetheless and earned the respect of the Captain enough that when inquired to spend a good deal of time in a region of space where humans such as him were regarded as "Organs" and sentient ships ruled supreme his only response was "Sounds like fun". Gifted with retrofitted or donated supplies they traverse to Katarsa and supplement the existing shoddy skeleton of an Eradicator network with an impressive retrofitted Capital Ship bedecked with the accouterments of his Bardic home and the lavish designs of a Dread Pirate favored by Lord Dopethrone.

    4) [MILITARY] Invade Region L12 with the An'Nullifier leading 5 Eradicators, 6 Core Patrol Units, and 2 WWE Units. Warbeasts powered by Space Whales, EC Lances powered by Haethalian Rubies and Screeching Crystals, Microplating powered by Symbiotic Alloys, Sublight Thrusters powered by Sonic Hedgehogs, and all provided by CPC units powered by GLR Rank 4 TP's. (2d12+25 Bonus, +2 to Tac Man, +1 to Enemy Losses on Victory)
Someone stole the starlight from the backside of your hand
Weak without the magic you lay passed out in the sand
With controls set for night flights when witches ruled the world
In a twinkling moment you see cockroaches and crows
So drunk and misled, face down in the mindless gutter
You puked and you bled, the lifeblood of the holy mother
Lame and astray, bloated in the crimson river
Needless to say, we are here to burn and wither

    5) [DIPLOMACY] Raise Rep with CPC from 2 to 3 using GLR Diplomacy 10 Success! 14!
With the An'Nullifier commandeered for Core Patrol excursion the Wardens of World's End seek to further cement their relations with the Core Patrol Corps inhabiting their ravaged homeland. Agents from throughout the Rose League arrive to supplement and provide relief for the beleaguered Patrolmen, soldiers in an unending war against the apocalypse, and a worn weary from the brutal calculating unfeeling nature of their eternal foe. A rival who does not eat, sleep, laugh or cry. All it does from dusk till dawn is make the Patrolmen die. Contacts from the Guardian of the Galaxy are approached for how best to handle such traumatic relief, their empathic agents employed for therapeutic methods, and Masters of Shadow and Flame walk freely through the halls of the Umbral Augury to pay respects and keep vigil with those fellow soldiers who put down their lives for the galactic cause of eternal peace and prosperity. A struggle for survival all sentients are familiar with. Chief Deputy Echo Umberto even makes a point to stress the great contributions of the Rothuun Galactic Holdings and the Republic of Celes despite their current politically tenuous situation. Their blood was spilled just as freely in the name of beating back the swarms of deadly ancient monsters and though they are far from the fight today their efforts will not be forgotten in history. A special marker is left for the previous Chief Deputy Warden, Antich Heaventreader, presented by the Imperial Princess Mika Ren who was cordially invited to such a clandestine affair with dark whispers through the wind, and left along a wall of darkest black with the names of the fallen etched upon it. A ceremonial wreath of blades smelted down with his name upon it. The continuing activities of Antich Heaventreader's former gifted Guardian Kazu puzzle the Droccen Princess during her brief tenure in the Umbral Augury, as the hulking metal construct works tirelessly yet silently in conjunction with the Core Patrol, and her perturbed nature is noted by the Fire Lord Vix-Tal amidst the ceremony and relief efforts. When those bonded pass on their Guardians cease to function as well, yet Kazu persists in standing stalwart with those who fought alongside Antich in his final moments before entering the Source, and such a strange circumstance has lead to the Hearthling and the Droccen conversing at great length.....

    6) [PHILOSOPHY] (SPECIAL 10) (MIRACLE)
Fire Lord Vix-Tal travels to the Heart of the Source in defiance of death itself! Emerging from the magical realm with the lost Warden Antich Heaventreader in a shattered condition, his flagrant challenge to the status quo of the An'Null Eradicators staunch view of the galaxies truth is answered, and the Shadow Admiral implements an assassination on the Fire Lord.

They are slain for their effort.

Vix-tal, permanently warped and imbued with Shadow and Flame in union, haunts the bowels of the An'Nullifier as a Wraith of the Source, and declares himself Witchking of the Apocalypse. The Witching hour tolls the bell of an endless dark adventure and the Witchknights of the Apocalypse ride to meet it. Meanwhile the former Chief Deputy Warden is taken to the herbalists, apothecaries, and healers of Hearth for further studying and care once the civil war ends. Many questions remain of what prolonged exposure to the Source has done to him and his body is in a critical condition that will require years of recovery.
    Something wicked this way comes

    Spoiler: A Shadow to Prevail
    Show

Several Galactic Years prior upon the Command Deck of the Celenian Frigate Squall.

It is a vast and imposing room filled with sleek polished alloy control boards and displays of kaleidoscopic colors throughout indicating processes or standing routine operations enumerating the homeostasis of the ship. A cornucopia of buttons, sliders, levers, and modules are splattered over these individual monolithic slabs of breakneck warcraft engineering. Officers in prim, clean, ironed uniforms of indistinguishable design and monochromatic coloration line these stations with their heads down and hands rapidly to work. It is a bees hive of imperial grandiose standards. Overseeing these operations on a catwalk with newly implemented safety railings is an unnaturally gracefully aged and impeccably dressed man, Constantine Relor. He reads from a tablet given to him from a subordinate moments before preparing the Gravity Latch Drives of the Squall.

"Hail him," Constantine says without moving his eyes from the task at hand. Wordlessly a technician flips through several channels before coming upon one particularly damaged, garbled, and particularly ill-kept signal that transmits the image of a hulking Hearthling white as snow bedecked in microplate armor; Fire Lord Vix-Tal. "You can't be serious. Eradicators?" He continued finally tearing his eyes away from the readout to look the Master of Flame eye to eye. "It's one matter to run about drinking and whoring with those scum but this is beyond the pale." Vix-Tal laughed at first, either ignorant of the wider audience or uncaring of the matter, and cooed "Ah come on 'Teen..."

The Commanders face tightened instantly into a snit. "Leave us." He ordered and the small throng of Celenian operators nearly stumbled over themselves in an effort to quickly depart the room and the ire of their superior "Don't you 'Teen me Vix. This is serious. It's unconscionable. You can't just sweep this under some hokey cute Sourceror ways nonsense. These people are pirates and we gun down pirates adroitly." Vix-Tal was a creature born with a nearly inscrutable and disturbing face but decades of training in the Source had given him preternatural expressionism at odds with his biology to express annoyance and grief "What's so wrong with being a pirate. I thought you said Celes took things from people all the time. We did it together even. Constantine, you gotta give them a chance."

"We gave them a chance and they choked themselves to death in front of the Fleet Admiral."
"They're not all like that, some of them are fun."
"They can't be trusted they have no structure no order they break rules flagrantly."
"I break rules flagrantly and it's worked for us too. I shot myself out of the Squall with a missile when you said not to and convinced the Urthuun to fight alongside us and it liberated Cricalores."
"Don't be cute with me. They're a suicide cult. Dangerous. Unpredictable. Listen to me, Vix. You're going to get yourself killed. Come back to the Squall we can work this out."
"They're just misguided. Confused. Angry and lost in the dark. I can show them the light, really I can, and they'll be the better for it. Fang is already in the process of removing the explosives from his Guardian."
"You talked the Terrorist Talking Squirrel with a trigger happy suicide bomb bot out of carting around his nihilistic fetish tool. Wonderful."
"It's a start. Not all of them are open to it, trust me, I know. Some of them need to get knocked on the head, some of them might even need your brand of discipline, and I can't deny that. But most of them are just people like us."
"This is ridiculous. YOU'RE ridiculous! If you seriously continue with this I'll have no choice but to leave Hearth immediately and return to Celes."
    "You don't mean that."
"This goes beyond me, Vix, some of us actually have a sense of loyalties. The Consul will recall me immediately, even if I wanted to stay."

Fires burn behind the Hearthlings frame, smoke slowly rising from between the cracks in his microplate armor, and a faint glow emanates from his eyes as tears begin to well.

    "Constantine..."
"I can't keep sheltering you Vix. For someone of such a venerable species and military career, you're being frustratingly naive. They're using you. They'll kill you as soon as you do something they don't like. They don't care. You can't do everything, you can't save everyone, and you can't have it both ways."
"I CARE! ABOUT ALL OF MY FRIENDS NO MATTER WHAT THEY ARE. I CAN DO ANYTHING FOR THE PEOPLE I CARE ABOUT."
"I thought we were friends but you would rather be in bed with monsters."
"Humans have always called my kind monsters. Most of them have the decency to do so behind my back. I guess you're no different after all."

The transmission ends unceremoniously from the Fire Lord's end leaving the Celenian man alone. Isolated in his pristine metal cage. Inexorably home-bound and away.

Spoiler: You are my Fire, the one Desire
    Show

The modern era, upon the war-ravaged station of Hearth

Deep within the winding cold metal halls of the Warden homeland lies the chamber of the Fire Lord. The veteran Hearthling meditates in robes of deep crimson and stained purple swirls, spiked leather tassels flowing like rivulets of blood down his large frame, and part against his bent knees as a defiant rocky outcrop in a roaring sea. A bright red candle floats at eye level with him, the only illumination in this circular armory of ceremonial weaponry and artistic implements, and it burns on both ends. The wax drips down steadily, plinking drops floating with unnatural lethargy before hitting Vix-Tal's exposed body, and hardening into strange runes or patterns as it courses across his scars, feathers, and fur. His form trembles and shakes with each rune, but he does not open his eyes and remains resolutely focused on the task at hand incanting with each sensation a promise or desire to the world. Seated beside him is Captain Fang, impatiently stamping his iron-plated boot against the ground, and folding both of his arms together in a clear display of annoyance as he grinds his sharpened Grymlan teeth in a barely restrained sneer. A pale stubbled human in patchwork extravagant studded leather and far too tight pants maneuvers around the dimly lit room examining it, a blade at his hip, an ostentatious pistol on the other, and a strange musical instrument slung on his back. Captain Ramsey Blake. Finally, an eyepatch-wearing Cricalorian of black and white spotted fur and reinforced microplate armor sits opposite of the Fire Lord. She rolls a leaf carefully in the dim light with practiced grace despite her large meaty hands, packing it with another floral substance, and lighting it on the Fire Lord's candle before ashing it off uncaringly with each toke. Khin Charin, Flame Hunter, and Eradicator Liasion.

"This plan is f***ing stupid. And crazy. Did I mention stupid?" Fang finally spoke up, finished with his stamping and instead walking away from the meditating Fire Lord to kick a grenade over "Your friends dead, you big white fat f***face can't you get that in your giant snowball head?" He threw his hands up in exasperation. "It does sound outlandish and impossible. But I like it. Your bat friend wasn't lying when he spoke praise of your deeds, Fire Lord." Ramsey followed up before picking up the grenade and looking it over. The pin had been pulled long ago and the metal was rusted and pitted over where claw marks had rent it. "Don't encourage the idiot you backwater Bard." Fang hissed and pointed a sharpened talon to Ramsey but the Electric Wizard merely smirked and ignored the Grymlan. Khin finally finished her rolled narcotic of choice and abandoned it to the small mountain of burnt wasted roaches below with the others. Her whiskers twitched briefly as she mulled things over and a hand idly moved from her face down to the metallic frame of her cybernetic leg to drum against rhythmically.

"So, run this by me one more time, Fire Lord." She finally gruffly asked, scootching herself closer to the Hearthling as he continued his Sourcerous ritual. "You're just gonna fly in and fly out? I've seen your kind pull some impressive dogfighting maneuvers and trick shots during the Fires of Cricalores but this.... this is something else. Fang's right, I think. Antich helped us out immensely, my people are forever in his debt for the work he did on helping us resist and recover from the Same. But.... you don't come back from that. Everyone dies eventually. It's a good death to have. In a battle against your most hated foe in defense of your home? This is the way."

Vix-Tal began to rotate the candle with his magic, the dripping wax's slowed descent forming a swirling pattern akin to a galaxy; or the Source itself. "I disagree. Nothing is final. Not even death." The last comment drew the attention of all those present "The Source is a pathway to many wondrous tales some would consider fantastical or unnatural. But it is undeniably a part of the fabric of our world, magical yes, and yet to some extent mechanical. My people speak a tale of one who traveled to the Source before and returned with powers in great store. The first Master. A Master of Shadow and Flame bound in accord. If he could do it why can't I?" Vix-Tal ceased rotating the candle so that it could finally rest sideways as before. His answer did not fully satisfy Fang's face. "Okay, say you do go in there. It's been nearly a decade since Heaventreader flew himself in who's to say he's even still alive? What's he been eating?" Fang flicked a glob of hot wax out of the air and watched it splatter to the ground like the blood of a tiny sprite beheaded for an Unseelie court. "There are tales of some Electric Wizards sustaining themselves on nothing but the sweet melody of their music and the shrieking choir of their sycophants and foes. If this Antich is a true Master as you say perhaps he is in much the same meditative state." Captain Blake answered, now deeply enthralled in Vix-Tal's tale, and already preparing his stringed device.

"Kazu still roams the halls of the Core Patrol. Fighting the Same, working tirelessly in the name of the Wardens, and repeating the last words of Antich. Mika Ren told me that when a Guardian's ward is slain they cease to function. I know he's still in there somewhere but for how long I'm not sure." Vix-Tal hymned before finishing melting the candle. His eyes opened and glanced down to the pile of stains adorning him. A Mosaic of Flame. Prophecy. "The Princess also said you were a little short to be an Eradicator so she can't be all smoke and mirrors." Khin laughed at Fang as he kicked her and interposed himself between the two hefty hairy creatures.

"Ignore the Sandy V****a Mouth and look at me, Vix...." Fang stared into the Hearthlings beady black pools of insight, polished pearls that reflected the Grymlan's own face, and the Eradicator was disturbed to see that he really did care if this fool died. The two didn't speak, merely locked their gazes, and finally nodded in agreement and a sigh of defeat from the tailless terrorist. "Fine. So you're going to fly into the Source, do your magic, get the kid, and come out. Why did you ask all of us to come here? Just so the rest of Hearth will know you didn't just abandon them to commit suicide on some r******* heroics?" Vix smiled at his long term drinking mate and extracted his legs to steadily stand one paw at a time. "If I fail yes, exactly that," He spoke softly as red lights began to glow faintly from bulbs hanging and festooning the chambers abound "But you are also the few I trust the most to convey my message to the rest of the Eradicators. Echo has marshaled the entire Eradicator fleet to Hearth so that they can fight alongside the Core Patrol and liberate a sector of space from the Same. I want all of them to understand what I'm about to do. Defy death itself. I want them to take it in their hearts as they go to battle a scourge more terrible than any other. Will you do this for me?"

The three Eradicators looked to each other with apprehension.
"You have my word." Said Khin Charin
"You have my ship." Answered Fang
    "And my axe!" Climaxed Ramsey

The Fire Lord preened cheerfully as he disrobed. Standing at his full height he towered over even the cyborg Cricalorian and he produced from his collection of refuse and junk a simple silver orb. Pressing a button on it produced a soft beep and a red glow. Set to record.

"When I first became Fire Lord I took the responsibility begrudgingly. A human twerp had saw in me something no one else did and petitioned me for the Blazing Circle Rite to battle for this position. His name was Antich Heaventreader. He would repeat this saying, a mantra passed down by his Master Zel-Dara, and it always bothered me. No one's ever really gone he'd say. They lived on in our hearts, in our words, our actions, our spirits, and sometimes they were just far away from us. Separated by space, fate, or will. He held tightly to it when dealing with the death of his Master and I mocked him for it. But now I see clearly. He was right and I was wrong. No one's ever really gone. Not even Antich Heaventreader. I'm going to take my ship, the Wildfire, and follow in the former Chief Deputy Warden's steps. Travel to the heart of the Source itself. And I'm going to rescue him. The Shadow Admiral has lied to you. An'Null is no God, certainly not of Death. I don't believe there are any Gods. Just those we choose to put our faith in. Our blood. Our tears. Death is no final answer for me. I've seen what you can do when you all work together. When you stand with the galaxy. Your courage in Efficiency Grounds was legendary. A tale as deathless as my burning heart. An adventure unlike any other. When I return I would like to go on an adventure like that again. Plumb the darkest depths of Axiom, trail the stars in face of impossible odds, and face the impossible with those I call kin by my side. The free, the bold, and the radical. I have no doubt that you will prove just as relentless in battling the Same and raging against the Apocalypse. Fire Lord out."

He finished his recording and tossed the orb behind him as he left the chamber for Fang to catch. "Don't wait up for me." He called back as the metal doors hissed to a close as he exited the precipice. Working his way through the bowels of Hearth, Vix-Tal stopped by the Growth Chambers to smell the flowers of his home, the tribal grounds of all those he had befriended in his years of training, and left threaded beads for every child who approached him. Normally when going to the Wildfire he moved with great haste as he only mounted it for war. He took a leisurely stroll today. He traced his claws over the hull of his personal fighter. It was a Kombuch Sprite Class Fighter. They were little more than engines with a massive energy lance jammed between them. It was a simplistic design that Vix-Tal instantly fell in love with. It was a gift to him, from back when he taught Engels how to wage passionate war, and he appreciated every gift given to him. Severe modifications were made to it since then, mostly focused on expanding the cockpit so as to fit his hulking frame, and minor adjustments for better boarding maneuvers and bombing runs. Flame decals covered its body from tip to rear, all hand-carved by him, and each one coated in markers depicting kills or personal accomplishments. None of them denoted a rescue mission. He wasn't sure how he would mark such an accomplishment. He wasn't sure if the Wildfire would even make it back with him in one piece. If he would make it back in one piece. Loading himself in he began to flip various systems on and brought his warmachine to life. He tucked a picture into the corner of his cockpit lovingly. A snapshot of Constantine annoyedly looking towards the camera at the last second, Antich stumbling wildly, and Vix-Tal ambushing the both of them to take the picture from up above.

Silently he departed from Hearth, engines humming a swan song for the Fire Lord, and he turned off all incoming transmissions. He wasn't going to be talked out of this endeavor anyway. Gazing upon the voluminous otherworldly sight of the Source he felt truly insignificant. Not unlike the first time he had gazed upon it as a small child. It's swirling glory was like that of a bonfire consumed in endless night. He had passed the threshold of no return by this point. The power of this ancient wellspring would draw him in soon. He closed his eyes and clenched his talons around the controls of the Wildfire.

"I am one with the Source and the Source is with me. I am one with the Source and the Source is with me. I am one with the-"

Everything was dark. He wasn't sure if his eyes were open anymore. He didn't want them to be open at that. It was a cold harsher than death itself. Every atom in his body was being siphoned to a withered barren husk. Pierced by a billion syringes formed from dying stars. He couldn't breathe. Couldn't move. Utterly paralyzed. Swept in an ocean of darkness. As quickly as it came it passed, replaced with a sensation of being set ablaze, and pressed face-first against the heart of a nuclear bomb. His very soul immolated in a blaze that made the flames of the Fire Lord seem cold as ice. He screamed but no sound escaped his rapidly fading frame. He cried but no tears welled in his mutilated eyes.

    All was silent.

    All was still.

    Then the music began.

His vision was fading back to him, a truncated flood of pastel watercolors garishly blinding him, and loosely formed a humanoid shape before him. He didn't stop to think he just acted. He grabbed for it and turned back to where his heart pointed true. His head swelled and pounded, cracking open to spill forth gushing shrieks, and a river of howling clawing power. He wrapped the shape in his arms, deliriously fading in and out of consciousness all the while, and faintly heard the sound of.... something behind him. Watching him. Judging him. Stalking him. A note so deafeningly quiet and imperceptibly loud that it rattled through his shattered stained glass bones was the last sound he heard before finally blacking out once more.

Spoiler: Snap your Fingers, Snap your Neck

    Disgusting.

    Putrid.

    Repulsive.

Look upon this fetid heap of fools and cowards clinging to their dying sparks. Their wasted breathes fogging the vision so clearly before them. Shrieking heedlessly into the careless void. Born amidst dead halls of cold unfeeling metal, where life was not meant to thrive, and the still waters of the universes miscarriage should be most evident. Feckless defiance of entropy.

    It sickens me.

"Shadow Admiral," A voice crackles to life from the mesh speaker at my disposal "Your ship has been prepared. The fleet is in position to strike the Source."

I have permitted this self-proclaimed Knight to roam for too long. A cancer in the flesh of a perfectly curated rotting husk. Cancer. Dangerous life in overabundance. It must be Eradicated.

    Purged.

There is no Hope in these stars. I learned this long ago. I deal in deception. But self-deception? It is the most pathetic poison of all. Dripped upon the eyes, swallowed on the tongue, and taken with no apprehension. Half of my fleet has swallowed this pill. I will flense them all the same. Struggling against the necrosis will only make its tender release agonizing.

No one truly understands. No one but me.

    Nothing is unkillable.

    Eons drip through my hands
    Washed of moments unborn
    All the spaces between bleed
A tribute to a sacrament never exposed

The An'Nullifier opens its dark maw. It is the mouth of An'Null. It is my mouth. The bright burning light of its lance is the tongue with which I shall scald and slander the lies of these Sourcerors.

Pierce the heart of the "Source". Cast down the false idols of treachery.

    Idoletry to Mortal Arrogance.

I depart the galleon. One dark blade in the night leading a swarm of vicious predators. Black fangs tearing the soft flesh of naivety.

    A Tale's End.

We converge on the sight of the Kombuch ship. Tattered, beaten, worn. An apt visualization of this writhing maggots state of mind. He might have escaped his magic hole but he will not escape the guillotine of fate. I am the Headsman of Axiom. We open fire, blinding waves of missiles, nuclear flame, and piercing bullets. It stings to stare at, scarring into my retinas like staring into the heart of a star, and I will never scrub the image from the backside of my mind.

    .....

    A graveyard of infinite stars
    Swirling cosmos bound like sinews
    Eyes of burning hellfire
    Claws of a collapsing galaxy

The beast rises from the ashes of our concentrated power. Not bound by the ship it traveled upon. Phasing through matter.

    A Wraith of the Void

Descending on me, claws outstretched, it cannot be and yet it is. Death defied. Then it finds me. I cannot deny it, will not. I see the truth of what I have always wanted coming to pass. I close my eyes. Involuntary motion.

I am become Death. An'Null of Worlds.

In his place to serve as Fire Lord of Hearth a Vilari Master by the name of Hearth-Pyr steps forth to claim the title of Fire Lord after facing the Burning Circle Trials and emerging victorious amongst his competitors.

    News and Rumors:
    - One Shadow Knight Lucien Livia and Inferno Knight Bonfoy Stain gather their sparks from Hearth and after brief discussion with Echo Umberto depart to the Celenian capital to ensure that the peace of the realm within the Rose League garden is kept. Equipped with experimental weaponry blessed with strange magics the two Sourceror's embark on a wild escapade throughout Axiom before arriving to Celenian space with a small detachment of highly skilled and supernaturally honed fighter pilots and operatives. A brief inquiry as to Echo Umberto's Wyvern relatives is made on behalf of Bonfoy Stain who while not explicitly ordered to do so by the Chief Deputy still feels a sense of camaraderie with his fellow Flame Sourceror and wishes to ameliorate the homesickness that the Wyvern Warden has exhibited in his years at Hearth.

    - Chief Deputy Warden Echo Umberto is contacted for a response on the matter of the War between this so called "Sanguinary League" and the Star League. When pressed on the matter in regards to the Warden's recognition of the charter, a process overseen by the now returned Antich Heaventreader, he makes only a single comment on the matter: "The galaxy is vast, we Wardens have many evils to battle, and the Vilari have enough as is. This is no concern for us yet."

    - Lady Kaya of Dynastinarea congratulates the political maneuvering of her fellow Dynast Hud Galdo and begins the process of constructing a pleasure barge for him and his fellow mercenary forces. The steps of it are slow, as she wishes for this construct to be predominately forged from magic, and in a fashion that will do the least amount of ecological harm to her home and other reachable star systems in the process. The expansion of life blooming oasis' throughout Dynastinarea via Source Magic infusion is a paramount project for her as she wishes to ensure her most treasured bride and celestial jewel Ambassador Eladia is most at home in the mystical desert world. Tourism advertisements are supported at every step, the proud bragging of the ensorcelled rune covered beetle people echoing throughout the stars, and whatever resource or power accumulated from the endeavor is quickly funneled to bridging their homeworld to the Assembly of Alysia via GLD routes or word of mouth.

    - A Vilari Master of Flame, one Hearth-Pyr, arises to the rank of Fire Lord to fulfill the vacancy left by Vix-Tal's sublimation into a Wraith of the Source and crowning himself Witchking of the Apocalypse in accordance with eternally waging war against Doom, Ignorance, and Ennui in the wider galaxy. Hearth-Pyr, a Vilari stolen during the controversial An'Null Eradicator incursion into Sodality space endured years of indoctrination, torture, gaslighting, abuse, and medical alteration in an effort to break him into the ways of the nihilistic suicidal path of foregone submission to the cruel carelessness of the galaxy pushed by An'Null. He did not shatter. His will was a supernova, constantly practicing or implementing manners of escape, envisioning his return to Vilari space, and perfectly dreaming of the day he would shatter his chains and walk free amongst the stars. Unbent, unbowed, unbroken he persisted in the face of brutal hopelessness and defied his captor's most creatively sadistic attempts at coercion taking great pleasure in laughing or singing at their failure. He was resolved to death, not a hopeless guttural fading the Eradicators wanted but a triumphant defiant spit in the eye of the false god An'Null. That is until the Wardens came in fully to a position of power among the Eradicators several galactic years ago and liberated him from his prison to walk freely in Hearth. A realm he would call home ever since.

    - Antich Heaventreader spends a full year convalescing in Hearth upon his return from the Source. The process is grueling, each day a new challenge in an effort to recuperate his full physical senses, and undo the damage unknown mystical forces have reeked upon him in the process. By the end of it the medical examinations, healing rituals, and physical therapy routines he has reached a close shadow of his former glory and health with a peculiar spike in the manifestation of his Source borne powers. Throughout the recovery process he makes a morning routine of visiting and spending time with the Droccen Princess, Mika Ren.

Spoiler: A shot in the dark
    Show

Mika Ren's consciousness slowly gathered itself from the meditative state she'd made a habit of practicing before breakfast while training with the Masters of Hearth. Her thoughts coalesced around the rising awareness that she was being watched. The Princess kept her eyes closed as she reached out to touch the other presence with her mind, but she already knew that it was him. She recognized his dark aura just as she might her mother's smile or her father's smell.

She realized her eyes had opened but she'd been seated facing away from the door. She arose slowly but gracefully and turned around to face the Shadow Master, casting her unflinching gaze upon his face for the first time in years.

    "I knew you weren't dead."

”I wasn’t as certain as you,” Antich meekly said as he strode closer with help from his walker and leg braces “At times it felt... indistinguishable from death. Or worse.”

The Watcher was in a malnourished shambles, his desiccated husk wrapped in simple medical robes of dark blue, and tight black bandages clung to his flesh in a patchwork pattern throughout his body. Where some of the wrappings loosened it was hard to tell for at first glance; underneath his normally olive skin was a charcoal display of necrosis and otherworldly tampering. His eyes were bound as well, his sight deprived, and yet his sense of direction or purpose no lessor for the task at hand. A Hearthling apothecary had insisted coming with him on this journey, the Council wanted more time to observe the exact nature of his exposure or its ramifications, and a trained chaperone was the easiest compromise they could make for this endeavor. She at the very least had the good grace and kindness to wait outside for him, to give him some semblance of dignified self-control, and a measure of privacy. It was a far cry from the last time he had been seen in refined military fatigues and the full glory of the station he spent most of his life living up to.

    ”I’m sorry...”

Mika Ren's keen eyes missed no detail of his injuries. She wondered if he'd have recognized her if he had seen her with his eyes before his other senses. She had grown into a woman while he had languished in limbo. Then again, her father's dark hair atop her mother's face would have given her away.

"You don't need to apologize... for not dying." She dearly hoped he could get the sarcasm in her voice since she was certain the look on her face was lost to him. Her sardonic grin faded slightly and her heart ached as her gaze lingered upon his frail form.

    "Will you recover?"

The Ex-Warden laughed, a strangely mirthful noise from the disheveled man that was quickly cut off by his bodies rattling fit, and replaced with a brief stint of hacking flecks. He steadied himself before smiling and said ”I believe so. The healers of my home haven’t stated definitively, but, I can sense their hope.... and they are competent and confident. They say it won’t be easy, or fast, and that I might have unknown consequences....” He rotated his right hand, stretching it carefully, and then followed suit with his left. It was a small exercise but one that seemed to require great effort and mental concentration for. “They told me I was gone for nearly eight years. It hardly felt more than eight minutes,” he mumbled as he crept forward and carefully reached around to take a seat “It was worth the wait to be here now.”

He smiled toothily and for a moment looked as proud and assured as he did leading a cabal of warrior sourcerors through the stars.

Mika Ren stood in front of him as if by a trick of the dim lighting, the Warden, ex-Warden, looked just as he had the last time she'd seen him.

"I know you'll survive the upcoming battle." The Princess choked out the last words she had said to him until today.

"The last eight years may have seemed as eight days to you, but to me they were an eternity." It had been nearly a decade since she'd lost the naive faith of a child.

"I spent most of that time training. I have learned much... I wanted to make you proud. When you returned." Now her faith was based in her own sweat, results and ever-growing connection to the Source.

He slumped as the words rolled over him, shame taking root in his damaged nerves, and it shook his core. He reached his hand out tenderly, briefly considering the circumstances, and gently closed his fingers back together as he hesitated. ”I think more importantly you can be proud of yourself, Princess.” He wanted desperately to see the pain in her eyes he could hear in her throat, those darkly majestic eyes, and yet was bittersweetly thankful to have been spared such a travesty. He resolved his motion “May I?” and if given assent gently held her hand with his and traced his ennui ridden fingers over it. A simple palm reading from when he was but a Spark. Yet also the closest to an updated vision of her he could muster. He let go after a brief tracing.

    ”Show me, if you would.”

The Princess hadn't realized she'd been holding her breath until he'd let her hand go. She rubbed her thumb against her palm where the warmth of his touch lingered. She said nothing at his request but took a step backward, further away from the light. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, inhaling the shadows. If the ex-Warden had been able to watch what she was doing, he would have seen her form darken and her features obscure until there was little difference between herself and the darkness. Suddenly the shadow behind the man's left shoulder darkened and solidified into the shape of a woman. Mika Ren stepped back into the light to lean down and hold her hand out to the seated man. Her mouth opened as if to speak but she closed it again, instead letting her thoughts drift over him.

"This belongs to you." Along with her words she remembered when he had given her his badge. She remembered the childish wonder with which she had pulled the small metal medallion out of her pocket. Looking up at the Warden then he had seemed so strong and brave and endless.

"Antich..." Her emotions finally broke their dam and she let them crash over them both as her words died beneath the weight of them. He said nothing in kind but merely embraced Mika Ren's form with all the strength he could muster.

    Boring Mechanics Stuff

    The Lyraen Stellar Domain
Current Ruler: The Ascended One, Mish Lyrae

    Actions:
    1. [Dip] Transfer one capitol ship to the WWE as compensation for claiming and conquering L18 (Effective 2-units)
      - Lyrae is pleased to see that the offer she made a few years back to the Wardens is still enticing enough that the threat of withdrawing it has some weight.
    2. [Military 10] Introduce a new Tech, "Eclipse Exo-Armor": +1 Battle Rolls, +2 to Tactical Maneuvering (Approved!)
Requires Lyraen Elemental Implants and one Medical/Drug resource
More than a mere battlesuit, this new brand of armor is the product of the Lyraen proclivity to never settle for smaller explosions. For the longest time, the Lyraens snubbed fighter-craft. They were so small, tiny, and died far too easily. However, one day a bright young scientist drew up a proposal for a bigger battlesuit that is both space-flight-capable and vacuum-sealed. The integration of a medical injection system both keeps the pilot alive and allows for the injection of whatever combat drugs are currently available.
Standing at fifteen feet tall and carrying around enough bulk to outweigh several classes of actual fighters, this new invention allows a single pilot to stand on the hull of a ship and unleash full fury of their implants, sending out streams of burning plasma-lightning that can cut through anything and, sometimes, jump to the next ship over. Then, if the danger of being a turret is too great or the situation calls for it, they can leap off the ship and enter the fray as flying dealers of death and earth-shattering kabooms.
The name is inspires by the Lunar Eclipse, when the moon disappears from the night sky and Lyrae's light stands at your back, propelling you forward to greater and grander things.
    3. [Dip] Attend the Event
      - Accept two techs from the Rothuun (Thugs and Coup de Grace)
      - Trade two techs (Enhanced Microplating and Energy Conversion Weaponry) to the Ndoda for four ships
      - Trade Exo-Armor to the DNN for Mirror Plating
      - Trade EGGRE, Energy Conversion Weaponry, Government Supported Markets, and Lyraen Elemental Implants to the MFM for Energy Distribution, Improved Generalship, and Limited Transporters, as well as their new tech.
      - Accept all other gifts
    4. [Dip] Explore L16 (Success!)
    5. [Dip] Stabilize L18 (Literally cannot fail. +8 Dip, +1 Org. Phi bonus, +1 DDD bonus)
    6. [Secret!] The Lyraens flood Celestia Corp with relief supplies, offering food, water, and other necessities to those most affected by the struggles of this current time. In a public statement, Lyrae expresses admiration for the Celestial people, praising their ingenuity and self-reliance.

    1. The Warden's warpath, which is headed through Lyraen space without asking permission AND bringing known enemies of the state along, is neither welcome nor permitted. The Wardens are given a slight suggestion: find another route or leave the Eradicators behind.
    2. IF THE WARDENS DO NOT PICK A DIFFERENT TARGET AND TRY TO PASS THROUGH LYRAEN TERRITORY WITH THE ERADICATORS, THEY WILL BE ATTACKED AT THE BORDER. I AM SUPER-SERIAL ABOUT THIS, TY!

Spoiler: Raff and Meerax's Excellent Adventure: The Grymlan Combine
    Show
    Raff and Meerax
    Adventures in the Combine
    Dear Raff,
I’m sorry to make this letter so short. There is a meeting in twenty minutes about some sort of scuffle over near the Federated Churches. I’m sure it will be in the news soon, and you’ll hear far more than you like about it. Enough of that. Have you been settling in? Has Flash been a good host?
I found your sun crystal, by the way. You left it on your nightstand. Do you want me to send it to you?
    Yours truly,
    Mish Lyrae

    Raff,
Hey kid, how’s it going? Having fun yet?
By the way, ask Luna about that time with the Hyper-Max coffee. Tell me what color her face turns. If it’s green, I win a bet.
    Cheers,
    Proxos

Dear Lyrae, she who raises the sun, master of all she surveys, etc. etc. etc. Amen.
Flash has been great! He’s busy, of course, but he has all sorts of hidden ‘fun’ things stashed around the palace. And the buttons! So many buttons. It’s fun to push them. Meerax says I shouldn’t push them because the whole palace might explode, but the Grymlans push them all the time and the palace hasn’t blown up yet!
Meerax also says this isn’t a palace because Flash isn’t a king and the Grymlans are a corporate-based governancy or something like that. She’s being a bit of a spoilsport lately, after that can of ‘neo-insta-paint’ turned her green for a few days.
Flash gave us tickets to see something called G-Ball tomorrow. Meerax is sulking, but I think she’ll go too.
    Love ya!
    Raff

    Uncle (by Proxy) Proxos,
Heck yeah! I found out about coffee! And they let me drink it! And I only destroyed a small courtyard after I summoned a tornado and rode it around the not-palace!
I’ll ask Luna next time I see here. She thinks she’s too cool and mature for us.
    Prince Raff the Awesome

    Dear Lyrae,
Please send help. Raff has been on a coffee binge and he’s literally bouncing off the walls.
    Meerax

    Dear Raff,
I think it best you leave off drinking coffee for now. Though it has many benefits, someone your age should not be exposing themselves to such things.
Also, please do not destroy any more courtyards, even if they are empty. I am paying for any damages incurred by your trip, and that was apparently of some historical value.
    Much Love,
    Mish Lyrae

Dear Great and Exalted Sun-Queen and Master of Us All,
So I went to the G-Ball tournament. It was a blast. I want to bring it home with me. Apparently, it’s not a sport that allows spectator participation. Conjuring random breezes and blowing the ball off-course can get you thrown out. Who knew?
Meerax stayed, though. She said it was alright. Bet I would have appreciated it more than her.
I’ll stop drinking coffee. My paws are kind of getting jittery anyway.
Love ya to the Core and back,
    Raff

    Proxos,
She turned red and told me to mind my own business.
    Raff

    Mish Lyrae,
Welp. Raff quit drinking the coffee. Now, he’s had a headache for three days and moans about G-Ball.
    Your servant,
    Meerax

    Meerax,
I’m sending a doctor on the next ship out. Tell him to take whatever painkillers the Grymlans offer so long as they don’t seem too…Grymlan-y.
    Lyrae

Spoiler: Raff and Meerax's Excellent Adventure: The Wardens
    Show

    Dear Raff,
I hope I haven’t been too smothering as of late. I care for you. Please know that.
Anyway! I hope you have a fun time with the Wardens. I am sending the doctor with you this time, so if you do eat anything that doesn’t agree with you, she will be on hand to treat you.
    Much love,
    Mish Lyrae

Oh Great and Powerful Mish of Lyrae,
    S’Cool.
Saw Captain Fang again today. He didn’t remember me. Told us to ‘Fudge off ya mother-loving pansies’, but he used cooler words. Then we went and saw someone do a thing with a sweet guitar. It was totally wicked!
    Peace out!
    Raff

    Mish Lyrae,
Meerax, I am already concerned for Raff. What in heaven’s name is ‘peace out’ suppose to mean?
    Concerned,
    Mish Lyrae

    Great Lyrae,
The people here use a number of, ahem, ‘expressions’. Like, ‘wicked’ or ‘sick’ for things they approve of. Raff likes them all and is trying to use as many as possible.
Before you ask, yes. It is very annoying.
    Your servant,
    Meerax

    Meerax,
Thank you. I’ll handle the situation.
    Mish Lyrae

    Raff,
It sounds like you’re having fun already. Good! Now, I do have a small assignment for you. I want you to mark down every lexical anomaly you discover and write it up in dictionary format. With, of course, full explanations for the usage of each as well as its etymology.
    Remember! I want full documentation!
    Much Love,
    Lyrae

    Oh Great Sun Spirit,
I have no idea what you’re talking about. Everything is perfectly normal here.
    Regards,
    Raff

    Raff,
    That’s what I thought.
    Lyrae

Spoiler: Raff and Meerax's Excellent Adventure: The Droccen

    Raff,
Well, you are off on another adventure! I am so proud of you. All things considered, I think the last two went very well. I trust this one will be a nice, safe tour of the Droccen civilization. They are stable, after all. You should have a good time. Yes, that is exactly what will happen.
I promise not to worry too much.
    Love,
    Mish Lyrae

    Might and Noble Lyrae,
Yeah! It’s been great so far. Everyone wants to take pictures with me. Some keep trying to pet my head, but that’s alright.
Meerax is having fun too! She likes the specialized brushes they made her. They’re really hard, but she says they get in between her scales and “scratch itches she didn’t even know she had”.
So yeah, things are going well here.
    Love,
    Raff

    Raff,
Hey kid! Proxos again. Try and get one of those pink crystals for me and mail it back, will ya? Customs is being difficult for me. Thanks, you rock.
    Cheers,
    Proxos

    Proxos,
Sure thing! They have them in all sorts of sizes around here.
    Cheers yourself,
    Raff

    Great Solar Entity Lyrae,
    Hey…so I have a problem.
Meerax discovered vlogging. And now she won’t stop. She is going on about ‘followers’ and all sorts of things I don’t get. And she won’t. Stop. Filming. She films everything! She films herself sitting down to eat! She spends ten minutes posing the food just right and won’t let me eat it until she’s got the ‘perfect’ picture!
    Please help,
    Raff

    Proxos,
I need to enlist your help with Raff and Meerax. Again. It’s always something, I swear.
    Lyrae

    Sweet-Cheeks,
Say no more! I’ll be home in a flash.
    Proxos

    Great Lyrae,
I get the point! I get it! I’ll stop filming every moment of my and Raff’s life! I’ll let him eat his food! Just please tell Proxos to STOP POSTING MY BABY PICTURES.
    Your servant,
    Meerax

    The Duenem

    Region Q25+Q27+R26+R24+P26+P24+O27

    Round 15
    Actions:
    1. [1] [Military 10] Scout Chassis
Requires: Sublight Thrusters, Fuel, Mirror Steel
      Slot: Reconnaissance and divination
+2 to tactical manoeuvre rolls. +1 to battle rolls if you prevent your opponents tactical doctrine.
With the discovery of Mirror Steel, Duenem scientists are able to create small ships and chassis which are almost entirely invisible to most sensors. Combined with sublight thrusters, this allows ships to observe and escape enemy forces with greater ease, helping the main fleet obtain the information they need. Being able to strike perfectly to disrupt enemy strategies is an added bonus.

[2][Economy 5] Create TP in O27: Concentrated Starlight (Fuel)

With Shield Anchor Station now online, its crew use their free time to do military research in deep space. Due to the high energy consumption of the Station, the researchers theoirse far better solar panels. While the panels themselves prove ineffective, the researchers combine some of what they had previously learned. Using polished Mirror Steel Panels, and 4D Titanium, with some Otherways particles, they are able to make small spheres able to contain rays of light, kept in stasis in a perfect mirror. While the containers do require some power to remain perfect, they can collect starlight easily and quickly, making it a perfect rechargeable power source. Many Duenem have already begun to request them as an alternative to the older solar panels they have used.

[6] [Military] Invade P22 with 7 units under Conditoner Mint, using techs Enhanced Microplating, Capital Ship Hull, Elemental Implants, HEAT Engines (+20, CSH loss reduction)

With the aggression of the Rothuun, and the onslaught on the Star League, the Duenem decide to take action. Seeing the new Sanguine League as a dangerous force for conflict in Axiom, the Duenem venture into P22 to attempt to draw them back from their front lines, and attempt to bring pressure on the Rothuun to give up their assault. Conditoner Mint himself leads a fleet of Duenem beyond their boarders, to take the world as smoothly as possible.

    • Lighter Lighter, after having to be carried back from the Lyraen event due to, of all things, Drunkeness, is given a very stern talking to, before being asked to head a research project on how the Drunken master managed it.

    Djinye National Front
A Great Power and a vassal of the Mier Formica

    Regions F28, F30, G25, G27, H28, I27, J24 and J26
Queen Lin Sid of Minera, president of the Council
    Round 15

    Rolls: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/shows...postcount=1158

    Actions:
    1. [Intrigue]Construct WKA base in Bespéartha (G27) 3/3
The KISS takeover of ANE is somewhat surprising, but, ignoring the objections of the Church about the heresies of KISS, the Council pragmatically hops on the bandwagon and allows the new group of knowledge-seekers to operate in DNF's territory.
    2. [Intrigue]Secret! 2d6+4 Roll: 10
The Council is too secular for some Realtaists, and underground covens hatch shady plans...
    3. [Diplomacy]Claim G29 on religious grounds 1/1 use liege score (10) and Realtaism 5 LC bonus (+1) 2d6+11 Roll: 18

    4. [Diplomacy]Inquest J28 2d6+6 Roll: 13
The Djinye, confronted with a solid wall of Gelean territory in the west, need to develop an active strategy in the east, Queen Lin decides. The first step is expanding further, to reach the interesting new nation of trees in that area.
    5. [Military]Defend Celestia (I25) from potential SYN invasion (i.e. occupy it) using Pyre (8), 7 units and CI: Guerrila Warfare (watch Moriko's post for possible reinforcements) (route: I27 > I25)
No longer shall the Syndrome put undue political pressure on Celestia Corps! Their countless betrayals and invitations to "talk" when the Celestians muster the courage to rebel are characteristic of an abusive relationship, Realtaist priests agree! The Blueness of their violent, arbitrary rule must be balanced out by a period of calm, Orangewise development, or Celestia Corps will inevitably collapse just like the extremely spiritually unbalanced Kamasati did.

The Djinye National Council army moves to occupy the Celestian capital, surrounding government buildings to protect CLS leaders, especially Quesa Rennon, who is pushing for the desired political change, from any unfortunate incidents.
    6. [Military]Invade F26 (former Symbraum space) 1 unit and CI: Guerrila Warfare
Merchants and travellers profess that they are often threatened by pirates who have taken up residence in the bubble of lawlessness that F26 has become after the Symbraum government fell apart! The DNF Council shall put their concerns to rest by taking control of the situation itself, immediately. The largest fleet that the Djinye can possibly afford is dispatched to the region. ...or it would be, if that fleet wouldn't have been diverted to CLS. But given that the Symbraum are reportedly unarmed, a token force should suffice.

    Nonactions:

Embassy with CLS: Give them all of DNF's technologies, accept any technologies given to DNF

    Embassy with MFM: -

Resist all foreign buyouts, conversions etc., unless converting to state ideology or explicitly permitted.

Allow and support CLS buyouts of open TPs.

    News and Rumors:
    • Send a letter to the CLS:
We, the Djinye National Front Council, have to ask Celestians to reexamine what kind of message they are sending to the world by bending the knee to a power as aggressively militant as the Syndrome - who additionally, we need not remind you, are adherents of a twisted ideology. Military protection can be obtained in other ways. Please do not interpret this as a demand, but let us note that the Djinye themselves are capable of providing it, and additionally aiding you with the protection of Caller relics and trade routes, both being reportedly important to your nation.

If you do not hear out our plea, our obligations might regretfully compel us to separate Celestia Corps from the Syndrome ourselves.
    • Lyrae's moves to bring the Celestia Corps into its sphere of influence are not appreciated. CLS is under the protection of the Djinye, and its citizens will not be subjected to an autocracy, unless they want it themselves.
    • Treaty with NDA:
Unclaimed regions: DNF shall claim F26, NDA shall claim D26, E25 is left for the quickest claimant
Non-aggression pact: DNF and NDA shall not use military force against each other nor will they strive to deny each other strategic resources, with the possible exception of acting in defense of an ally or on the orders of a liege. However, untapped resources in each respective state's territory can be claimed by the other party.
    • The disappearance of the Realtaist Goddess is troubling to some. If only one god, only one element remains, how can the universe continue existing? No, surely the Sister must be alive, merely hidden from our eyes. A public fund is set up to hire investigators tasked with finding the Sister. Whether this is a fool's errand or a glorious quest, only time will tell...

Spoiler: News and Rumors (Relevant to LSD, DNF, SYN, ITS, NDA, and nearby nations!)
    Show

    1. Controversy sweeps the Celestian Systems. Word has it that the Church of Iteus possesses the Library of Truth, the artifact that Celestia's most wealthy and famous had purchased at a public event for a fair price. After the vast resources poured into the new vaults and anti-theft measures, this offense is taken as a slight against the nation as a whole, and with their entire band of initial thieves rotting in prison... Well, there could only be one explanation. There was a reason why nobody could figure out how anyone got in to take it, because the thief must have already been inside. The Syndrome reveres the Church of Iteus as the state religion and the same radicals who attempted to perform a religious coup on them in years prior rise again to condemn them for taking the side of their now enemies instead of their allies in bio-engineering throughout Celestia. It so happens that this unfortunate accusation arrives as Lyrae begins to press their influence in Celestian territory, which really just means supporting a certain few rich individuals, who play into this controversy as a reason to shake the foundation of their close ties with the Syndrome. Up and coming superstar Quesa Rennon, a human woman that featured in the hit movie Parallel last year seems to have gathered a cult following seems to lead these efforts, and with her spectacular wealth and fame none can really stop her.

(Quesa has modified herself genetically to have canine ears, a tail, and has both of her hands replaced with synthetic ones that grant various benefits. Though I rarely mention it, more genetic modifications means more power and influence in Celestia. This is why they wished to vassalize and learn from the Syndrome to begin with.)

As pressures from the Djinye come in, perhaps even alluding to war with the leaders of their philosophy, this only accelerates the pressures and the deals made between the Syndrome and Celestia Enterprises are broken not a week later. It appears to the public that Quesa Rennon has the backing of both Lyrae and the Djinye National Front in this matter (weather true or not), and the reputation of supporting warmongering and thieves is attributed to those who remain sympathetic to their former but longest allies. No official punishment is given, but the social stigma is palpable. Ziplock says nothing on the matter, and Halwell Yazhu refuses to speak for the Syndrome to condemn or support the story of their supposed betrayal. According to him: "We simply don't know if the accusations are true. It's unfair and unwise to perform such a drastic change of heart without first asking for their side of the story... It was not their decision for their allies to declare war and neither is it necessary to claim involvement in such a distant and irrelevant conflict." Many consider it a true tragedy that his words are not taken more seriously.
    2. Celestia Enterprises' current leader Halwell Yazhu stands by the story that they had no intentions to shift hearts and minds with their movie Parallel, and those upset within Ndoda and Lyrae space are... Overreacting. Perhaps they should allow their people to think as they please.
    3. DNF armies move in to blockade Syndrome loyalist movements! Their support is welcome by Quesa and her new cabinet of government so long as they don't get too pushy.

    The Guild Enterprises of Nyx
Vassal to the Gelean Empire, Member of the League of Roses

    Nyx (Sector M21), M25, O23
    Uno Ophelo, Lord of Coin

    Actions
    1. [Military] Invade N22 with 2 Units under Lord Uno Ophelo (10) using Enhanced Microplating, HEAT Engines, EC Lances, Lyraen Elemental Implants, Platinum Elite Health Services, & War Beasts (+17, +1 to enemy combat losses on victory, +2 to Leader Loss Roll) - Seeking to maintain a competitive position in the real estate business as existing assets were auctioned off to interested Stellar Powers Uno himself leads Nyxian annexation efforts of the nearby Caller designated N22 star systems. Owning this sector of space for the near future would allow continued access to N20 and N24 for annexation and auction. The locals express objections to this callous dismissal of their culture and systems as pawns on a gameboard but when one resistor shoves a Nyxian-funded soldier blocking off unrestricted access to vital infrastructure the local military is accused of conspiracy against the Guild and free enterprise "legitimizing" the deployment of overwhelming force throughout the systems.
    2. [Military 10] Introduce OVERHEAT Engines. Effect: +2 Combat. Slot: Engines. Requires: HEAT Engines, Fuel - Intimately familiar with both the HEAT engine design used on small fightercraft, having deployed them in multiple engagements against Unmaturated targets, and having gained an in-depth understanding of Celenian engineering during the design and construction of the cruiser its Starfleet purchasers had dubbed New Dawn Nyxian engineering teams are tasked with upscaling the HEAT design to operate on a capital ship scale. With a healthy slush fund provided by Celenian naval research grants Nyx-paid engineers set to work overcoming the limits of modern HEAT designs. After months of crunch the engineering team present their first prototype for testing and production. While a few hiccups and kinks are identified further refinement, and a near-unlimited budget, sees the brand new design refined and production begins shortly after the conclusion of 2,175,028.
    3. [Economy 10] Introduce Star Galleons. Effect: On a Great Success (18) of a Buyout you gain control of a second Open TP if one in the region is available. Requires: Trade League & Metal - Experience with the construction of the New Dawn and lucrative investment opportunities attract Celenian investment in civilian technical development by the Nyx. Capital Ships were impressive and imposing craft used in warfare by the Celenians but the massive addition of cargo space easily converted to a boon for trade ships. Designed to Celenian specifications, these enormous "Star Galleons" make the prospect of transporting bulk goods across vast stellar distances profitable by slashing logistical expenses.
    4. [Economy 5] Resource or tech upgrade - YOU DECIDE!
    5. [Diplomacy] Establish a claim to N24 18 - The natives of sector N24 are inundated with Nyxian political adverts and flushed with Nyxian money encouraging the adoption of a legal referendum to be held intending to incorporate the region into Guild protected space. While local politicians and political theorists logically and reasonably argue against such a measure citing the history of Nyx's "pump and dump" style of governance the flood of Nyxian consumer goods blinds the average citizen to reason and logic. More toys today and more numbers going up tomorrow on the ticker couldn't be a bad thing in the long term, could it? The possibility of prosperity for all, or even just a lucky few, is made to be so enticing that those who argue against this rampant consumerism are dismissed as sticks in the mud and agents of stagnation. With a sufficiently agitated populace the Guild is confident they can force a referendum through to ballot in the upcoming years.
    6. [Diplomacy] Attend an Event - Another great auction show is set to debut from the Nyx at one of the least-likely to interfere most business-friendly locales in Axiom, Rothuun space. If it wasn't legal in Rothuun space it likely didn't exist and if it did exist basic reason existed to provide a reason whatever it was that was illegal by Rothuun law shouldn't be done. Matters of "slavery" and "selling off distinct cultures like collectible cards" were unlikely to come up with regards to the regional auctions being performed. It was certainly far more respect for free enterprise than could be expected from the Vilari and their communistic ilk. The Nyx entertain all comers, provided they have the means to pay, and their vast catalog of assets are made available for purchase.

    • OwO is invited by the Lord of Coin to redouble its efforts in the capital to sway the hearts and minds away from the warlike KISS. However, while the merchants within the Guild were eager to expunge KISS from its commanding seat over regional thought the mercenaries who carried out the will of their well-to-do masters were far better served by the militant ethos of KISS than they would be by the app-based connectivity driven OwO. A growing rift between mercenaries and Guild masters appears to be opening marked by this ideological competition. Many high ranking Guild members blame Lord Uno for inviting in these ideologues to replace the perfectly acceptable Mandate of Coin while mercenaries see his attempts to oppose KISS dominion as a sign of his disregard for the fighting man. The Gilded Garrison and Nostromo alike buzz with anti-Ophelo sentiments.
    • An especially successful and insightful mercenary captain, a Lopurnan woman known as "Mind Slicer" or just "MS" for her potent psychic abilities, invests her earnings from fighting in M25 into buying a title within the Guild becoming the Merchant Governor of a small moon colony. MS organizes a number of prominent retired fighters as well as Nyxians enticed by the idea of a mercenary led faction within Guild politics into a cohesive political force and while her numbers are still small her ideas regarding the military and its role in Guild society are heard throughout Nyxian-dominated space. Some suspect she may come to challenge the next Lord of Coin for the title, or perhaps even Lord Uno himself, though her own ideological alignment remains a mystery. It is openly speculated that her lack of commitment to KISS or OwO at this crucial moment precludes her ascendance to any higher office within the Guild.
    • Celes is encouraged to slap the absolute living hell out of the communists of Union for their intrusion into Celenian space. It is said that privately Lord Uno adds his personal voice to the chorus citing the problems arising from allowing non-traditional beliefs to proliferate in one's capital. Followers of the One couldn't even tell the rich apart from the poor and what kind of ideology tolerated such an offensive belief?
    • No official statement is made with regards to the Rothuun declaration of war on Star League although the most commonly held opinion was in favor of the Rothuun if not especially optimistic about their prospects. The Rothuun were much more aggressive in arms than the Nyxians were personally keen to tolerate (though Rothuun attitude was more widely respected among the mercenary compliment of society) but as a faraway power sticking it to the self-righteous Vilari they were akin to a fantasy hero mounting a desperate assault on the fortress of some dark lord. Brutal tales of Vilari "economic regulations" and "social justice reforms" are used to frighten young Nyxians. Meanwhile tales of the Rothuun are limited to tall tales of honorable minotaur warriors where the Rothuun have their struggle glorified with overwrought descriptions of blood and gore.
    • Tabloids who busy themselves with tracking the activities of notable Nyxians report that MS has departed onboard her starship Forge-of-the-Free-Fighter to the Spacific where the Sunbreams now reigned over the shattered Dipanans. Just what exactly this trip was intended to accomplish is speculated about wildly with very few accepting the official position of MS and her Guild allies that the skilled Lopurnan combatant was merely keeping her skills behind a star fighter sharp via a hunting excursion alongside the Sunbreams.
    • Hud Galdo, a Dynast Source Knight, has become a popular figure among the mercenary circles that claim portions of the Gilded Garrison for their companies and conglomerates. The Shadow aspirant is said to speak to the mercenaries' desire to step beyond the realm of thugs and enforcers for the moneyed nobility and corporations and into a fully realized warrior caste capable of directing state matters as much as being directed by the state. Lord Uno nor any merchant princes or governors are willing to evict Hud from the Garrison in spite of his firebrand, nearly treasonous, remarks and offensive levels of economic ignorance due to their fear of reprisal from the mercenaries for taking action against a preferred speaker of theirs. The psychic Lopurnan and Contrapsions seem especially attracted to the mysticism of the Source believing they could further hone their already impressive mental abilities through contemplation of the great vacuum within the vacuum. Debate over proper cost/benefit analysis equations regarding synthetic vs organic soldiers erupts once more in light of this news with emphasis placed on the individualist will carried around by organic soldiers, something much easier remedied in a battle droid platoon or killbot squadron.
    • What began as a science and engineering experiment by the Grymlan Farseekers serving their contracts in Nyxian space has now snowballed into an ideological crisis. Grymlans in Nyx space, bereft their UwUs and deprived from contact with OwO, had elected to jury rig an OwO hub for private use hijacking legitimate signals from the nearby Lyraens. However, the Grymlans were never much of ones for keeping secrets or hoarding technology so when merchants and mercenaries both began to realize the potential utility of a personal UwU device the Grymlans found themselves getting requests for more of their pirated PDAs. The demand quickly outstripped production capacities of the small Farseeker engineering teams (who had plenty of responsibilities to attend to outside crafting bootleg UwUs) and a notification was sent to the Combine about the potential for OwO's growth in Nyxian space. Shocking the local Farseekers the Combine response was decisive and resonating. A legitimate OwO hub is constructed and UwUs are made available to all who wish to stay connected to the day by day, minute by minute, second by second marketing network represented in OwO.

    Diplomacy 6
    Military 10

    Intrigue 2

    Actions:

Military: Attack M11 With SACE KING (M10) + 10 units + Laser Lance Brigades (+2) + EC weaponry (+1)+ enhanced Micro plating (+1) = 24: While attacks were initially drawn up versus v0.11, intense war room discussions were soon interrupted by an owlbear and Watcher in black. After three days of aggressive negotiation, SPACE KING leaves the war room proclaiming an attack on v0.25. Rumor has it that repeated cries of "this is bullhiiiiittt" and "this is why leagues are dumb Hotokie" emanate from the inner citadel. However, these controversial quotes cannot be corroborated by reliable witnesses.

Philisophy: Great Project: Door light, Infinity and Beyond (2,5): For a friend SPACE KING assembles the finest minds within knight space to do the impossible. Over two years of hard labor, scientists of many races, creeds, and planets draw up a series of blueprints used to modify a GLD to enter the beyond. The effort brings a certain amount of public curiosity to the concept of the beyond. the plethora of papers produced by the project have inspired niche science fiction authors have begun depicting the beyond as a place where all your dreams come true, others as a dystopia ruled by an unfathomable intelligence. One author, in particular, Nyra the Elamian, depicts the beyond as an analog the internet while positing that Axiom is merely a simulation within the Beyond. Interviews with SPACE KING reveal that he is quite a fan of "Beyond fiction," often reading novellas in between war-room meetings.

Philosophy: Great Project: Door light, Infinity and Beyond (3,5): It's not long before the completed blueprints are manifested into a prototype. Three prototypes are manufactured by the Knight scientists though, after rigorous testing, only one is delivered to the Empress. The prototype tests involved sending a series of living beings to the beyond which yielded, various results. While the theory had been ironed out to modern sciences' best ability, there remained far more room for improvement. By the end of the Galactic year SPACE KING and his entourage personally deliver the prototype GLD to the palace of Empress Sai. While the transfer lacked the pomp and gaudy ceremony of similar rituals, an atmosphere of hope permeated the monarchs.

    News and Rumors
    • Controversy abounds as news trickles out that the malevolent intelligence known as v0.11 follows the path of the source. While the official story spins a tale of the robot merely hacked into WWE communication signals, many remain skeptical. Riots break out on citadel brain station as a group known as "Source" truthers" rile up many of the local watchers on the charge that the Rose league is conducting outrageous experiments to fuel source magic with mechanical power of the same.

Worse still local CPC agents in the Tamia sector release a statement saying they will no longer work with the Knights Vacio until SPACE KING reveals the truth. Separatist agents and in the sector use the news to fuel further propaganda. A common Xenophobe talking point is that SPACE KING is too busy pursuing a reckless war against robots who haven't attacked knight space, instead of addressing the deficit, or the Star League crisis.
    • Ruling the Knights Vacio for over 20 years has been an exhausting endeavor. Flexing just isn't as easy as it used to be and frankly, SPACE KING was just bored. SPACE KING was frequently heard complaining there just isn't enough time to work out anymore. No chance to test his limits, no more mountains to climb, literally SPACE KING has been banned from most of the mountains within Knight space. Before heading into Same space, Jaques conjured a SPACE MULLET, and SPACE MOTORCYCLE for his brand new journey.
    • Knight Christie
    • The popularity of Beyond fiction has spawned a series of small cults. Advertised to the marginalized, Beyond cults routinely drug their members with diluted liquified brains in a bid to experience a communal telepathic connection. Frequently the cultists travel door to door, selling quack remedies to fund, their exploits.

    News and Rumors
Alysians are shocked when their vaulted General returns with a human wife. It is one thing for Eladia to have run off towards adventure, quite another to have the General's relationship flaunted in front of the general population. Further unrest is caused when it is revealed that the Prime Minister himself is involved in a relationship with Lightshielder Beatrix.
Oft partners of the An'Null, Alysians are disturbed by the faction's sudden reformation and are suddenly suspicious of the Wardens motives in infiltrating their own Learning Centers.
