I avoided saying this until now to avoid spoilers and allow everyone to speculate. It now seems obvious enough, though.

If you're speculating that the teleport grabbed half of Oscar, that's not how the spell works

The chapter banners aren't a note of who dies if viewed in that way, either. Just of who appears chiefly in that chapter. If Oscar isn't there, he may not die, he may just settle down or have a vacation or something, but he isn't appearing as a main character.

There will however be quite a bit of pain on the landing, but not for him.

Incidentally, I've now finished every comic right up until my glorious return to college on the 7th of January, comic 25 being penultimate in the "Fall of Arcania" story arc.
