Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
The Water alchemist takes down some notes in a small book he always has at the ready.
"Good to know. But what I was really getting at, was that if you actually were a humunculus, your healing would, theoretically, be faster than normal."
Galen holds up the knife again.
"Don't worry, it'd be just a little cut."

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
Day 3 Ends.
Foolish Humans, says Fleeing Coward as the Alchemists surround him. Do you really believe you can defeat me? Just with this?
We don't believe so, says an Alchemist. We know so.
As the Alchemist takes a step towards Fleeing Coward, Fleeing Coward's image suddenly changes to that of a young girl with black hair.
Would you hurt me? Me of all people?
........Celia?
Why do you want to hurt me? What did I ever do?
Don't let him fool you! shouts another Alchemist. He's not Celia! He's a Homunculus!
Fleeing Coward tries to escape. The Alchemists run behind him, but he makes his way into central, through all the guards, and into a closet. His shape reverts.
They won't find me here. Those Alchemists are so naïve!
Is that so..... Envy?
Fleeing Coward turns around. A huge flash of light is seen. He cries out in agony, then hits the ground with a dead thump.
When the Alchemists arrive, they find only the body of a dead Homunculus.
Who or what killed him?
Summary:
Fleeing Coward was lynched. He was the Homunculus, Envy.
Night 3 begins now and ends in 24-48 hours, please send in your respective night actions.Last edited by Haruki-kun; 2008-02-01 at 04:35 PM.

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
Hear me, Alchemists! Though we have killed two Homunculi in three days, do not let yourselves become overconfident and complacent. That we have done so well thus far is due to little more than blind luck; the real struggle is yet to come.

Galen holds on to Lord Iames Osari's arm, and, with a slight slashing motion, makes a small cut on his fore arm.
"There now. That shouldn't hurt too badly."
Galen takes a step back and waits for the healing process to begin.

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
Eptul nods
Yes. That would be the best way to perform the transmutation. But who would be driven to such great length and risk so much for someone they didn't know? That's where the problem really lies.
Eptul starts to pack up the alchemical circles and stuff them back into his satchel.
This is all purely theoretical though. Any human alchemy carries great risk, one slip and you'll end up on the receiving end of the alchemy.
Eptul sits on the grass facing the Spawn Siblings and smiles.
So... what are you going to teach me?

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
Floating out of the closet Envy was hiding in, Celia ghost looks at his body with anger in her eyes.
"The mere thought of being used as a scape goat for such a loathsome creature makes me want to throw up. I didn't thought I'd ever say this... but I'm glad he's dead! Monsters such as he deserve nothing better."
She then floats towards her room.

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
The Spawn Siblings smile at the innocent man and begin to outline some possible Arts a mere mortal could learn. "Well; you could learn the Arts of Seduction."
"Or maybe the Arts of True Disguise -"
"-Ultimate Arcania-"
"-True Lingualism-"
"-Emotional Torture-"
"-Blood Rites-"
"-Demonic Summonings-"
"-Succubi-"
"-Fetches; Afreets; Ankou; Vampyrostras-"
"-Carnal Knowledge-"
"-Civil Services-"
"-Beaurocracy-"
"-Corruption of the purest minds-"
"-We can go on." Ekin takes out a very edited list and says, "All those not crossed out in human juices are available to be taught to you." The list is roughly four hundred Arts and Skills of the UnderWorld.

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
The Opal Alchemist takes the list from Ekin and starts to look over it.
...A lot of these are very salacious. And I don't think I really need to know how to torture people. That's not really what the military's supposed to do.
He continues to look down the list.
...Well, I can't decide. Although true ligualism sounds interesting. Do you have any particular suggestions?
Having rested his hand on the parchment, he pulls it away and wipes off the excess blood and fluid that had rubbed off on the grass.

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
"Well, it looks like you might be right. Still, I'd prefer to be absolutely sure."
Galen scoops up one of the drops of blood into a vial.
"I'll do some tests on these, and we'll be good to go."
Galen walks back to his make-shift laboratory in the library. He injects some liquid into the vial, and watches as the blood bubbles and changes color, and takes notes.
"Well, just a few more hours now."
While waiting for the reaction to finish, Galen wanders the HQ. Seeing the Research Alchemist and the havoc he caused, he asks:
"Do you ever bother with making a prediction or taking precautions before you attempt an experiment? When using alchemy this potent, it is wise to know what you are doing beforehand."

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
Watching from on high, Marek can feel nothing but a hollow satisfaction at the fact that one of the perpetrators of his current state is dead. As he flaps off of his perch and heads toward his roost in the rafters of the Library nearby, he remembers a time before his current existence, a time when he would have been among those milling around below him. His mind tormented and a chaotic mix of the old and the new, he tries to rest once he settles himself into his nest. His last thought as he drifts off is one of slim hope: *The fiendish ones... They may know something...*
((Hmmm... Dunno if my choice of RP is even remotely possible within the FMA universe. Ah well, I shall continue my quest for humanity!))In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial,
Who, squatting upon the ground,
Held his heart in his hands,
And ate of it.
I said, "Is it good, friend?"
"It is bitter - bitter", he answered,
"But I like it
Because it is bitter,
And because it is my heart."

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
Some time later, the other ghostly alchemist floats down, gives the deceased Envy a long, hard stare, then extends a hand.
Tendrils of black energy writhe and dance around the expired Homunculus, and he...dissolves.
Nodding in a satisifed manner, O'Connell then leaves.

So... he really was a not-man?
Snow Alchemist scratches his head in confused manner.
I really didn't thought that we will find two of them so fast, especially considering this one's cloaking skills.
Oh, well, maybe we will actually live through this.
Having said that, leaves quietly for his room.

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
"We have heard that you are a Major."
"In this case we would suggest Death Arts; True Ligualism or perhaps the Art of Mind Reading."
"It really depends on your speciality; whether you can inflict one something of this magnitude on a mere human like yourself or simply if your mind can stand slipping through the mind of another human for information." Heknik takes a small leg out of her dimensional space and begins to gnaw on it.
If Ep looks close enough he may note that it looks like a dogs leg.

Keris looked at the bloody stain on the ground where the homonculi Envy had attempted to run himself through.
When that... Creature had taken Celia's face, it had shocked him. He couldn't take the life of an innocent. Not again.
Glistening Red Stones lay umong the blood, the moonlight glinting off their surface. These were what gave homonculi their strength, and had cost tens of lives for each one. Stooping down, Keris picked them up and, wrapping them in a hankerchief, placed them in his pocket.

The water alchemist wanders back to his laboratory and checks his vials and test tubes. The blood has turned into a vnomous green color, negative for homunculi. Galen wanders back over to Lord Iames.

Heh. I'm only a major since all alchemists are promoted to that when we're given the watch. Being out in the sticks for two years means you get kind of forgotten by command. He sighs and absentmindedly starts fiddling with his silver pocket watch.
Perhaps mind reading would be useful. Although I can't see how it would work, scientifically speaking.Last edited by Dr. Bath; 2008-02-03 at 07:51 AM.

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
"Mind Reading is rather simple. It' simply like projecting energy outside of your body but you do it with your mind."
"And you just reach out into someone else's mind. It's all rather crude at first but we can't teach you skill. That comes with practice."
"We're rather skilled but we aren't masters yet. In a few short seconds you'll feel a light feather touch skimming through your thoughts."
Ekin goes rather still and her eyes flick once. "You're thinking about the fame you'll get by either vanquishing the Homunculii or by discovering how to craft a human via Alchymical skills. Preferably both."
"My Spawn Sibling just showed you some of the crudest Arts involved in mi reading. And as each mind is different you'll develop the skills to your own mind. All we can give you is the knowledge on how to do it."
"And some stealth tips."
"Do you wish this skill?"
"Do you seek this skill?"
"Will you use this skill as you will?"
"Can you tolerate it?"
"Do you wish to take this skill as your own?"
"Even with the possible effects."

Eptul shivers as Ekin dips into his thoughts.
Wh- How can that possibly work? It doesn't make sense! None of this makes sense. I don't understand it. All the death. The destruction. I thought I had escaped from hell. Only to find it followed me. And who are these girls they can- Crap! Got to stop thinking, got to stop thinking... Eptul thinks to himself.
Uhm, heh, well I can try to learn. I'm not sure how good I'll be.

-Standing unobtrusively in a darkened corner, Mustiado looked on in concern. Osari's words had struck a chord, obviously, but not necessarily with the crowd. The Homunculi had been extremely careless thus far, and the Alchemists had been extremely fortunate in their removal. He could only hope the rest of the hunt proved as efficient. Still, something gnawed in the back of his mind, as if this might be part of the Homunculus' plan...-

Re: Alchemists II - Game Thread
Stirring in his sleep, Marek's mind is assaulted with seemingly random images of his past life.
Watching his father polish a sword, the blade gleaming brightly...
His training at the Academy, learning alongside his comrades...
The excitement before his first battle, adrenaline rushing through his veins...
Kneeling down in horror, holding the dead body of his friend, killed by an enemy...
Staring down into a pool of clear water, seeing his reflection...
With that last memory, he started awake, with the image of his previous life and previous body seared into his mind.
Spoiler
Pondering this new revelation, Marek comes to a conclusion. *I must seek the fiendish ones... They may know... How to change me back...*. Spreading his wings, he takes off from his tree and flies into the sky, looking down and keeping an eye out for the Spawn Siblings. In the desert
