Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Elton John is killing my town with his death army of fans. Seriously, everything within a mile is under this sort of traffic cop martial law, tickets are beign scalped for over a thousand dollars, and trying to go against the foot traffic flow on the sidewalks is like the wildebeast stampede in the Lion King.
Even the forces of nature are getting invovled in trying to thwart His Pinkness by dumping three feet of snow.Originally Posted by Ragnar0k

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
I survived the wood shop! Yay! All my fingers and skin intact! This makes me happy. (And no, I didn't change my sex or gender in the middle of it either, thank you very much. I'm one of the few here who is sticking with what they've got. )
And now I get to wait a few minutes for the mask face to go away a little, and then there is a tea with my name on it. Maybe some food too. Mmmm... food.

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Hmmm...that raises a serious question...what to make for dinner tonight?
Can't order pizza, did that last night. Hot dogs were for lunch, don't want that again...
I suppose I could just ask the kiddo and see what he wants...but I figure he'll say pizza or hot dogs...
This is when I need one of those shows that sends you in a chef to make your dinner for you.

My uncle is a chef. I loved going to their place to eat, and we were invited a lot of times. But now they moved and they live in France. So I can't go visit them as often as I'd like...

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Ok, so after all this time, I'm actually considering making a Town character. Yeah, I know, where'd this come from? Well, I've read bits a pieces in Town and played on the fringes (Nacho Army vs Cookie Revolution) waaaay back, but I've never actually made myself into a character....
So, I'm intrigued.

I've always been interested in the Town, but I've failed even to enter the subforum for any reason. Truth be told, I'm really not even sure as to its exact nature.
Maybe I'll check it out...Glorious Chaiman Kaga avatar by the impeccable Kalirush!

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
I really really need to be with someone who can cook. Seriously. I think it's the top concern my mom has for me, that I find some way of feeding myself healthy stuff daily. Like when I went to university. She wasn't worried about anything but made darn sure I had a meal plan. And so far I have dated a few chefs, so I've been lucky. (Or picking out of the right pool.) You have no idea how many points you will earn with my mom just by saying you can really cook.
As for town? It's wonderful. Addictive and time consuming and wonderful.

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Dooooo eeeeeeet.
But the important thing to remember is that you don't actually have to model your character after your screen name or anything. The majority of characters have nothing to do with the person playing them. That said, if you want to make your character that way, nothing is preventing you.
I'd be willing to offer any assistance you might need, being a diehard townie myself.
In other news, I find myself craving brownies... but too hesitant to make them. Or lazy. Probably too lazy.
Arameus- we've got a few threads for that, and feel free to ask me any questions you might have. ^-^
I will note that the majority of Town players have scooted off to my own private forum, so as to avoid the GitP server crashes.Last edited by AmberVael; 2008-02-02 at 08:04 PM.

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
*makes will save - for the moment*
Yeah, I know it doesn't have to be my screen name, but I'd probably make one based on my dragon self..just because I play her often enough elsewhere in the boards that it would make sense.
Now to find the time to actually have to spen in Town. WW takes up most of what I have to spend, and I'm not even really doing that so much anymore...
*sigh* The joys of actually behaving like an adult...

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
I only say the thing about the names because a lot of the SMBG stuff seems to base you off of your screen name, and people have this tendency to call my characters Vael when they're not... rather irritating in my opinion. >>
And yes, it does take up a good bit of time.

Well, it probably wouldn't be much trouble for me unless I had more than one character. But I can seen how it would get annoying to be confused all the time.

I have that same problem, Vae. That's why I've got my guy's name right in my sig ... of course, I used him like, once, and then forgot about him. The Town's kind of hard to get into, I think.

...You mean Heath Ledger? I would like to point out, again, that by all accounts there were only prescription and over-the-counter, all perfectly legal, sleeping tablets, including one that's already been under scrutiny for having strange side-effects
Pxp, I used to really like doing woodwork. I miss it
I posted in the Town once... As Sar'pynestae. Yeah, I think you're right, Rubakhin - I'd imagine it's very fun and addictive once you're in, but it's pretty hard to get into.Last edited by Serpentine; 2008-02-02 at 10:16 PM.

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Sorry to interrupt, but could someone...please...SAVE ME FROM THE SUPERBOWL!
This sporting event is occurring just a few short miles from where I live, and the city of Phoenix has gone insane. I turned on the news last night, expecting the usual focus on all that is Phoenix, AZ, with maybe a minute or two taking a peek at world events. Instead, of the 35 minutes of news, about 25 minutes was dedicated to the parties, who was at the parties, where the parties are, and when the parties begin and end. Much to my regret, about 120 seconds of this non-stop stupidity was about Paris Hilton being in town. This was the news?!?
Okay. That's it. Sorry for the rant. On you go with whatever it was you were talking about, and thank you for your time.
