*pokes Haruki* Skippy said it was your job to send out the PMs. He also said you'd overlook the lack of PMs from the others in the pool, this once.

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Ok so today I was driving on the freeway when all of a sudden the traffic completely stops. No one is going anywhere for as far as I could see.
After 30 minutes of just sitting there traffic starts to flow again and we found out that what caused the road blockage was a semi-truck full of pigs.
Apparently the semi had crashed and flipped over and the ensuing wreckage completely shut down the freeway. Not to mention the pig bodies strewn all over...
It was pretty disgusting :/Spoiler

It's awesome! It's been about 4 posts since the cake was mentioned and no one has posted the brutally clichéd Portal Reference!
YAY!

Hah. His brother will only wish the cake was a lie when he's wiping off the monitor and the keyboard.
In other news, I watched Stardust and got hooked onto this song because of it. So pretty.
And the movie was great too. I'm probably going to watch it a few more times...

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
I played portal. It was fun. But I died before 'the element of danger' was introduced. I'm just that good.
Stardust had the strangest trailer I've ever seen. It seemed to cover the entire story. There was a climactic fight and someone died. I was intrigued, but not enough to go and see it.
Ha! I win again advertising!

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
On stardust: The book's better.
It always is.
Reading the Wikipedia entry, the book is vastly better.
Sappy ending vs. heart wrenching loss of everything you've ever known?
Book. Is. Always. Better.
@V: The book vs. the movie in any situation.

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
I think the movie turned it more into the a fantastical fairy tale, from what I've heard of the book (I have it at home, and I'll be reading it soon. Just picked it up from the library...) but honestly, I love that kind of thing- if done well.
And no, the book is not always better.
Example: The Princess Bride.
And honestly?
Phantom of the Opera.
Those two make amazing movies, and the books? Meeeh.
