It wasn't a piece of string, it was a pair of tighty-whities. And creepy kitties are far more awesome than powerful undead mages. Powerful undead mages are a dime-a-dozen on this message board.

Just because you don't know how to use Fireworks doesn't make it bad.

And for the recored, I have nothing against Inkscape, I just prefure Fireworks.
I've had to use vectore based programs for two years at school for GCSE Graphics, And I I simply don't think they're all that great.
I'm much happier Firworks as it's as close as I'm ever going to get to Photoshop...
Can you even add shading with Inkscape?

The only thing I like about the program, is that you get some pretty good quality colouring.

You call it the "dark arts" and discourage it's usage and you have nothing against InkScape?

And I recall you couldn't use InkScape, does that mean it isn't bad?

Okay, back on topic now, anyone seen KPen lately?

Hey hey hey, you can't just say something and then change the subject.

And it's not that I couldn't use it, I tryed for a while and then realised that I could do much more with Fireworks, so I started to use that and I'm pretty happy with what I can do with it.
And Firworks doesn't delete your work or crash all the time like Inkscape... Infacts, it's never let me down.

@Rand: It's not that I hate it, it's just that I think it's way over-rated... It's really not that great.
I mean, you can't even select the size of the page...

However, I will be fair, the one thing that really bugs me about Fireworks, Is re-sizing, It tends to Blure up when you do it... But I guess I can always use another program to do that anyway.

No, because it's a cheap, over-rated program, Vector program that's only good for Simple cartooning (such as Oots, simple yet unbelieveble effective) unless you are Extreamly skilled and manage to produce something realistic, which I have seen.

@Ninja: No, but you compared it to MS Paint which you said was bad, soo... yeah you did.

And to be honest, I can't remember that, but I believe you.

Resizing and zooming are the reasons I don't like Fireworks, as well as the lack of any good vector tools, and the uselessness of the paint bucket if your lines aren't hideously pixelated.

    cheap...its free. (is fireworks free?)
Overrated...there may be better programs, but it's the best free software out there. At least IMO.
Only good for cartoon images...I don't think anyone's tried to produce something realistic.

And Inkscape doesn't crash when used with Windows XP.
    @ chocobo: I dont, it's just that I hate 455}{()|_35
@ nameless: both fireworks and MSpaint are pixel-based.

Fireowrks has NEVER crashed for me, never let me down, ever.
If you're haveing problems with the bucket tool, then it's because you don't know how to use it properly, and if still get and uncolourd gap, then it's easily fixed.

And it's around £60 on it's own, not sure how much it is with flash and everything.
But I got the whole Macromedia package as a gift, so I payed nada.

@Rand: I've seen some realistic work on Inkscape, but you have to be very skilled, and have a lot of time.

And yes, it's pixal based... That's why I like it...

you're allowed to prefer pixel-based, but I prefer to resize my stuff if necessary, and I find vector based easier to manipulate. Besides, I've seen some good stuff made with MSpaint. Kurmour claims to make his avatars with paint (better graphics than anything I've ever seen ) and you got this.

Yeah, I've seen that, it's pretty amazing.

    Fear Paint... FEAR IT'S PIXALATION!

@Ninja: If let's say, you colour something with the tolerance on 255 and you still have some gaps, turn it allllllll the way down to 7, and colour over it again, that should fix it for you.

If that doesn't work (Which it should) just fill the rest manually. Take's 2 secs.

To add my two cents to the paint program argument, I use Adobe Illustrator. It's powerful, easy to use once you get the hang of it, and it is the same program that the Giant uses for OotS.
