Czernov looks grumpy. You have a point, Tessa, but I would prefer to rescue another man than l- He sees Judy, and sighs. We shall leave another time. Kee-Hansa, is it? He gestures. Prepare your magicks. He moves the unconscious assassin to the infimary.

Tessa has the infirmary bots put Judy to bed, then has them strap her down. "Right. One team member down already, and you haven't even started yet. This is looking good. Okay. Remember, 'port back if there's any problems. I can always sent you back to the battle, but I can't resurrect you." She casts the invisibility spell, and then opens a portal which leads to the room where G Vespe and E Vespe fought. "Woden be with you."

[Looks worriedly at Judy and glances at faded tattoos.]

I don't want to burn too many spells before the mission starts. I think she'll have to sit this one out in the infirmary

(Five identical Khiansas walk through the portal into the base.)

"I'll take care of Judy, and guard the base. Don't worry about us."

No! This is foolish. Czernov says, not enjoying being the voice of reason. We wait till the assassin is healthy.

(The final Khiansa looks at Czernov irritably.)

Are you coming or not? This spell has only a limited duration. We're as prepared as can be and everyday we wait is another day that our friends are in danger. I'm not saying we have to rush in blindly. We just don't have the time to stick around.

"Did I misunderstand?" Tessa says, still holding the portal open. "I thought you wanted to leave at once."

[Kaelaroth]

What do you mean, prepared as we can be? My gun is not finished, I am not of well, you've said you don't have many cleric spells left, bard skills aren't enough, our best close-range fighter's down, and Tessa has to stay here! Are you not sane? Czernov's annoyed. Not now that Judy's down, Tessa.

I don't have many cleric spells left and tomorrow I'll have even less. My powers are FADING!

[look of shock]

"I was never going, Czernov. Someone needs to control things here. I can't hold the portal much longer. In, or out? Or are you two splitting up?"

Czernov bites his lip, and follows Khiansa through, cursing his own stupidity as he does so.

Tessa casts Alertness on herself, and sits at the console to monitor the away team, while the medical drones care for Judy.

((Judy's in the infirmary. Good Vespe, Lex, and Turtle are hostages. Khiansa, Czernov, Annalee, and Fanboy are on the rescue mission. Tessa's in security watching over the away team. The rescue mission is currently deadtimed because none of the enemy are online. If you want Tessa to send Randy to the plot thread, she will.))

I come back from the training room that I sporked into existence, not physically exhausted at all, but certainly mentally exhausted.

I flop down into a sofa. With a glass of ice tea.

It's a spell from a scroll Tessa gave me. I have no idea how it works, but it lets me sit here and talk to you even though I'm really meant to be rescuing Turtle. If anything happens where my inert body is, I'll snap back into the action.

Khiansa poofs into Indigo smoke, which flies at great speed to the lighthouse.

A heavily bleeding, now passed out Czernov appears on the floor by Randy, a huge stamp mark on his chest and arms. His tachyon rifle is in one hand, seemingly recently fired, and his eyes are shut, visible under his plexiglass visor.

I put my tea down, splashing it across a coffee table, and then begin to take off his armour, and stabilize him. All the while muttering obscenities in German.

After he's stabilized, or once I've done all I can, I get him into the infirmary.

In the infirmary, Czer murmurs A monstrous soldier... like something from the science fiction I would read in Vladivostock as a boy...

Go... They need help. Randy, my gun. It works. Czernov says, his eyes flickering green for a second, before closing, as he falls into a injured sleep.

I get Tessa to send me through. I simply don't know how his gun works, so I take an MP7, with holy rounds. And a couple other elemental clips.
