Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
There's only one type of alcohol worth drinking, and that is alcohol made by putting microscopic beings into fruit juice and waiting.

Oops. I thought I had a 2-hour gap, lecture at 1, 1-hour gap, lecture at 3. Turns out I had a 1-hour gap, lecture at 12, and now I have the 2-hour gap.
Ah, well. It was my boring module.Last edited by Thufir; 2008-11-04 at 08:02 AM.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
Okay, question everyone - I just used the word (or is it a word?) 'Ovicular' in a sentence.
Now, I think I may have just made this up because the need for a word that sounded right arised.
So can anyone with the spare time tell me what they think it means, so I can test whether or not it actually works?
That's right. I'm using Random Banter as a guinea pig pot. Sue me.

Eggman, if you insist in shortening my username, please use 'Ina', not Gez, Thank you very much.
Otherwise, Wine, Cider, and similar drinks are the only alcoholic drinks worth drinking.٩๏̯͡๏)۶

I like Gez...
And I'm more of a Red Wine and Beer man myself.
When I was in college and before I was of legal age, I drank hard liquor because I convinced myself that was cool.
But really, give me a good beer anyday.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
I started drinking alcohol around 15, a few months before my birthday. This was at my parents suggestion. They, civilised as they are, gave me wine to try. And I have tried things that don't fall under wines, but I never liked them.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
We had wine at the table since I was 3, my father was Italian and never saw the harm in giving us wine to keep us quiet on Sunday afternoons.
I love wine... a lot. However Ina I would say give the spirits and beers (of which your nation has many stirling examples) a bit of time, they tend to be much like olives, an aquired taste that is most assuridly worth aquiring.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
My parents started me on alcohol fairly young too, I was 14 or so. I got a taste for it and got used to it so I didn't have to go up the park and get ratted on cheap lager like many Brits do in their high school years.
Still, cider is truely the drink of the gods, the only alcohol I can say I truely like. I don't think it's popular outside of the British Isles at all though?

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
Cider, of the alcoholic variety, is truly great. Unfortunately it's available in so little restaurants, and I tend to only drink alcohol when I'm at a restaurant or party (those rarely have it as well)

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
Shame really, cider is great stuff, and as far as alcohol goes it's almost as natural as you can get. Better than the mix of man-made chemicals that helps to make up lager.
Mind you, cider doesn't have the best image here, even though it's popular. It kind of conjures the image of teenagers chugging down bottles of White Lightning behind a skip. Still, I likes what I likes.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
One of my friends accidentally had cider once. He had a half-empty bottle of apple juice that had been sitting in his room for a few months.
Someone else I know made his own...he was a typical redneck though, so I wasn't surprised when he was drug out of the school by 3 cops because he was so tanked he couldn't stand.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
When I was a kid, we would collect the cherries, mirabelle plumbs, plumbs, apples and other fruits we had in the orchard to make eau-de-vie and ciders. Love the stuff!
The local brewery had a bring your own barrel and we'll distill it for you deal which was great.
The last of the 1978 Kirsch which was made before I was even born went into this year's mix of mincemeat.
And I must say, If I have the choice between a beer and a cider, it's cider nearly every time, exception made for some beers like the "Fin du monde".

Ever had one of those days were you just wanna drop kick everything?
I mean, I see a lamp post or a baby or a car and I just think "Man, I'd love to propel myself into the air long enough for me to bring both feet together and propel them in a violent manner into the (subject)."
God damn Man keeping me down. Won't let the people drop kick what they wanna drop kick.

We agree with the statement regarding weekdays. We generally find them quite unpleasant.
Especially when we have acquired Fallout 3.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
I used to have those days. They were the ones on which I worked. Now I have no job, and am content to sit around all day playing video games and posting. I'll need a new job fairly soon, of course, but for now having some real time off is great.
As for Alcohol, I like Cider, especially Strongbow, Beer, Rum, Long Island Ice Tea and Tequila. I'm sure I'd like others if I'd tried them, but I haven't yet.I used to do LP's. Currently archived here:
