Re: [Steam] Thread XIX: It's a Kritzmas miracle!
I'm not sure what to think of Magicka from the demo. The elemental combinations are fun, but there needs to be some kind of 'spell palette' for your more frequent combinations. Spamming the same three spells in succession made my hands hurt after a while.

Hmm. Should I find something? Maybe I should find something.
I don't have anything cool-yet-uncommon like Shadow has in droves, though.Last edited by The Linker; 2011-01-28 at 06:50 PM.

Re: [Steam] Thread XIX: It's a Kritzmas miracle!
Ummm...
Best I can find in the humorously eccentric category is the 2001 animated Atlantis movie.
I got all of Dollhouse, the first three seasons of How I Met Your Mother, I could re-run Daredevil w/ (or w/o) Rifftrax... we've got Princess Bride, though that was shown by one of the GitPers not too long ago...
I don't think I have anything interesting. Not many movies in this house.Last edited by The Linker; 2011-01-28 at 07:00 PM.

Re: [Steam] Thread XIX: It's a Kritzmas miracle!
No Monty Python in this house, unfortunately.
To add to my last post, I remember I have the first three seasons of Buffy, too. I don't know if watching TV shows makes for a good Friday Night session, but throwing it out there nonetheless. And I guess I've still got Final Fantasy: Advent Children, which would be much better quality than last time.Last edited by The Linker; 2011-01-28 at 07:02 PM.

Re: [Steam] Thread XIX: It's a Kritzmas miracle!
This one, just to clarify. Not worth much, save for the neat graphics and utterly ridiculous(ly cool?) fight scenes. I always thought it could be a beautiful movie if only it had good sound design. The music never matches up with the action.
Nope. Never watched much of either.Last edited by The Linker; 2011-01-28 at 07:10 PM.

Fun fact, I can stream videos (probably) and have a large collection of blurays/movies (not huge, but enough to last a few weeks) and an insane amount of anime (it is actually insane)...But I'm not sure what lag and whatnot would be like for you lot since I'm Australian.

Re: [Steam] Thread XIX: It's a Kritzmas miracle!
These are two of my favourite games of all time. I am heart broken they arent making the 3rd and 4th.
On that note, anyone who hasnt got "On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness" go and get it now! Its £2 for a pair of awesome games. Sure, they arent very long, but that just means you have more time to hang out with the multiple partners you will attract by playing them!Thank Saturn for this avatar!

Re: [Steam] Thread XIX: It's a Kritzmas miracle!
They aren't making the 3rd and 4th episodes? Was it just not selling well enough?
Awww, well, I just beat Episode 1. It took me about 6.5 hours (including time to find all the collectibles by hand, some of which were just in stupidly random places), which is pretty good, especially when I think about other things I've spent a buck n' a half on. The gameplay was okay, the dialogue, setting, and atmosphere were all great; the only bad thing I can really say is that I dislike having to hunt around, clicking every pixel at random to get all the content out of a game.
I guess tomorrow I'll see if the other episode is just as good.5e D&D Mythos Classes

Re: [Steam] Thread XIX: It's a Kritzmas miracle!
So the Dominion proved to be... insufficient. Why?
Because I am getting mauled by five civs at once. Thanks, alliance dominoes. Thank you so much.
In retaliation, I am building an unstoppable attempt to show them all what for. An enhanced version of the Dominion (which Zero named the Peacebringer). It has more HP, certainly. More miniaturization to make use of, too. It has enough armour to ignore any attack in the galaxy at present (except a few 20+ damage mass driver units the Korath have). It moves at a speed of 19 parsecs (tiles) per turn.
And then you have the weapons. A Doom Ray is the strongest laser in the game. One would kill most ships pitted against me, and two will deal with fleets or the especially large ones. This, in total, would deal 44 damage.
After a number of doom rays and some bonuses from weapons skill, this ship deals 357 damage. It also takes ages to build and costs a fortune to buy/maintain, so I can only afford three.
Why do this when it's clearly impractical and in need of scaling down?
Because they assumed that attempting to be peaceful for most of the game and scrapping most of my military to save costs was the same as being defenseless. Because this is not a ship. This is a statement. This is a war crime that flies.
Incidentally, shortly after I put it into production, the leader of the Arceans - the only surviving civ not at war with me - sent me a threat.
Spoiler
I'm not sure what they're going for here. This is the tech that allows you to start researching missiles.
Kinda behind the times there, Vega.
And yes, technology capacity. He's foreign, you can't fault him for poor English.
Blame the universal translators instead.
Edit: If anyone's wondering why I'm playing the wookies, a combination of the custom race option and being asked to attempt it.Last edited by Cogwheel; 2011-01-29 at 07:12 AM.

So, I bought Magicka. Hit me up for multiplayer if and when it works.
I write a gaming blog. It also hosts my gaming downloads:
Fatescape - FATE-based D&D emulator, for when you want D&D flavour but not D&D complexity.
Exalted Mass Combat Rules - Because the ones in the core book suck.
