Jasmine has the spiked ball of a flail. Despair may be able to tell that the other end of the chain is attached to a handle to enable the weapon to be used. The good quality of the metal suggests its magical nature.

"I'm not stupid, and I'm not a monster. I'm an otyugh, and have four doctorates!" The otyugh has quite a deep gash in its left spiked tentacle, though it's being careful not to cause too much damage to Nimrod. It's also quite loud- perhaps it's heard outside.

Hmm...

Despair sees if he can pull the handle out of the ground. He's seen enough flails to recognize one when he sees it.

Oh, hyu're a schmott kinda munster. Und a docter." Nimrod's eyes narrow. Those are two things he doesn't trust in the least. He does stop stabbing at it though. "Is dis hyu're kestle here?" He asks, keeping his hat on his head with one hand as he's dangled upside down.

In that case, they begin loading her onto a wheeled bed. If successful, they'll begin wheeling her back into the hostpital, presumably to x-ray her hand, and check for any other injuries she might have gotten when she fell out of the tree.

Only her hand is broken. She will be passed out for a while though...

In that case, they start to set her fingers back to normal so the bones will heal properly, and unless they're not successful for some reason, they'll put it in a cast, after which she'll be wheeled to a private room.

Whenever she wakes up, Tirin will be sitting next to her.

A couple hours later she wakes up.
"Ugggg, I feel like I tangled with a bear...wouldn't be the first time..."

...You know, Jasmine would have recognized a flail. I was just picturing that it was... bigger somehow. Too big to be a weapon. >.>

Jasmine watches as Despair tries to recover the flail. Until her attention is drawn by shouting. She looks over toward the gatehouse. "Nimrod? Is everything okay?" She calls as she starts to walk in that direction.

[Jeremy's Realm]

Shawna manages not to drop her jaw - or to laugh. But she does shake her head at the expression on Jeremy's face.
"Looks like you may very well have the answer to your question. Although I must say I would think mimes would be a better defensive measure."

Jeremy's Realm

Jeremy chuckles as he parks the car. "Sadly, magic isn't really natural here. Mimes are just for entertainment." He explains before shutting the vehicle down and taking the keys. After he picks up his pack, he shifts his clothing to appear somewhat more ragged and dirty. "So we look like we belong." He explains. "Ready?"

I can't believe we're still using that title.

I'll assume the pair make it through, because them dieing would kind of be boring and anti-climactic. Maybe the trip and get a bruise or a scraped knee. Or break a nail or mess up their hair. Whichever is worse. Anyway! They come to another section of path which is better lighted than what came before. And they come to another fork in the path. How original. This one, though, is a little od- wait, the other one was odd too. This whole place is odd. Nevermind. The left path is filled with rushing wind, and the right path looks normal. What do our intrepid pair do?

I can't believe we didn't use it earlier.

Dorota scowls, looking at the two paths. Hm. I'm not sure which path we should take.

I can't believe it's not butter...

"Um...I guess, like, it'd be the windy one, right?" Crissy suggests, trying to rearrange her mussed hair.
The horror!

Jeremy's Realm

Jeremy chuckles as he parks the car. "Sadly, magic isn't really natural here. Mimes are just for entertainment." He explains before shutting the vehicle down and taking the keys. After he picks up his pack, he shifts his clothing to appear somewhat more ragged and dirty. "So we look like we belong." He explains. "Ready?"

"Entertainment? Is watching a mime suffocate inside an imaginary airtight box following conviction for mimery entertaining?" Shawka asks straight-faced, then chuckles as she climbes from the car, and after a moment's concentration allows her clothes to shift to be more...wrinkly.

But just as white. Nanites don't do dirt.

"I am ready, if you are."

A couple hours later she wakes up.
"Ugggg, I feel like I tangled with a bear...wouldn't be the first time..."

"Not exactly... You ended up with a rage-seed, and broke your hand on a tree."

[Mindfreak]

Solarium
She gave a groan.
"Dangit Zero..." she said with a frown.

[Lady Serpentine]

[Solarium]

"Part of it was my fault... I didn't think to check for them before they started affecting you. But I agree that having him perform the ceremony wasn't necessarily the best choice."

[Morty]

I can't believe it's not butter...

"Um...I guess, like, it'd be the windy one, right?" Crissy suggests, trying to rearrange her mussed hair.

She sighed.
"I hate this place."

[Lady Serpentine]

[Solarium]

"Now that you're awake, they should be getting ready to release you. If you want, we can head back to the Nexus when we get back on the boat."

The Quest

I suppose it would. Either way, we have to be brave, Dorota says, no with more confidence.

Crissy nods, and squeezes Dorota's hand.
"Don't worry. We'll make it," she promises.

If they do try the windy path, they will find that the moving air is quite difficult to work against. In fact, it will be extremely difficult to make any progress against it.

[Mindfreak]

[Solarium]

"Now that you're awake, they should be getting ready to release you. If you want, we can head back to the Nexus when we get back on the boat."

Solarium
She nods.
"Yeah, though I don't think we should go back to Umbrella, I haven't gotten a report from there in a while."

[Lady Serpentine]

[Solarium]

"Alright."

After a few minutes, a doctor enters, and says "You're free to leave, though I'd suggest that you get some painkillers before you go. We'd have given you some already, but we didn't know if you had any drug allergies."

[Mindfreak]

Solarium
"Don't worry about painkillers for me, I'll just grab some when I get back home."
She gets up out of the bed and winces as her hand brushes against her chest.
"Let's go, Tirin, I'm sorry for ruining our honeymoon."

[Lady Serpentine]

Presumably, they begin to leave.

"It's fine, Elena."

He tries to make a feedback loop, this time using his own emotions as the start. Elena should be able to feel that he's really not upset about it, as well as a fairly high level dose of happiness that she's awake and mostly okay, and, of course, that he loves her.

Elena smiles.
"Okay Tirin."
She'll walk back to the boat with him.

[Lady Serpentine]

[River Tethys]

He smiles back, and tries to rub behind her ears with his tail as they walk.

When they arrive, he'll start messing with the controls, to cut their trip short early.

"So what is the deal with this boat anyways? Can it go to any world or what?"

[Lady Serpentine]

[River Tethys]

"It's not the boat, love. The important bit is the farcasters. As long as wer'e on the Tethys, and we haven't set a destination, it could be transported to any other Tethys world. But that would still happen even if we swam; it's just that this gives us some control over where we go, and it's more comfortable."

Despair can recover the flail quite easily. The haft is made of well-polished oak, and it's all in surprisingly good condition for something that's just come out of the ground and isn't a root vegetable.

Nimrod isn't being held upside-down, just held. The otyugh will adjust its grip to try and pin Nimrod's arms, though. "Yes, of Thayan History, Social Theory, Practical Economics and Tribal Politics. And no, it's not my castle. Why'd I want the castle? I'd have to kick the cultists out." The otyugh also starts to leave the gatehouse.

Jasmine likely sees the three-legged, three-tentacled creature with the large mouth holding Nimrod in two of its tentacles, whilst the eyes embedded in the third stare malevolently in the Jaeger monster's direction. The creature's hide is dirty and slimy, and there's a large cut down one side of its face, passing over the cavernous maw.

Nnnngh. Dorota grunts as she struggles. It's... difficult... but we have to keep moving. I think backing down is... explicitly against the point of this... quest.

[Mindfreak]

"It's not the boat, love. The important bit is the farcasters. As long as wer'e on the Tethys, and we haven't set a destination, it could be transported to any other Tethys world. But that would still happen even if we swam; it's just that this gives us some control over where we go, and it's more comfortable."

Solarium
"Oh. I thought you set the destination with the boat and then the farcasters receive the info and transport us."

"You can do that, but the standard trip is random."

They're nearing the next farcaster.

She goes to press whatever button makes them go faster!
"FULL SPEED AHEAD!"
