You know, it's kinda sad that Fireflower devotes her entire life to defending Equestria, but the things she supposedly prepares herself for fighting she couldn't possibly win against.

Nightmare Moon? No hope. Not anywhere near the same tier.
Discord? You'd need to be an Alicorn with the elements, or be some sort of Outer god to fight him.
Simmer? The most she could do is delay him. The only way to actually defeat him is through love and understanding. It'd surprise me if Fireflower were even capable of a genuine hug.

So, the things she devotes her entire life to being able to fight, she can't fight because she's devoting her life to fighting said things. Kind of a cruel irony.

It's sadder than you think. Fireflower does love her son, she is just very disappointed with him due to her twisted views.

This pony day, it's mostly ponies going through the Haunted House, which is technically a ways away from the Town itself, and general Nightmare Night stuff. Games, a small magic show, costumes, and pony hangouts. Sandy and Silverpine also got reverted to their pillowfort states in an effort to cure their eating compulsions, which means they're both pegasi for the short term. Prior to that, I'm not sure. We've been in Nightmare Night for a while. Not complaining, as it's been fun.

I don't feel like Fireflower's done much in terms of breaking the pony -- I've been assuming she's more bark than bite in most of what she says.... She's an antagonist -- she's supposed to treat the heroes roughly.

Anyway, this scene's done some good progress for me, so I'm pretty happy with it.

Also.... Beware. The Mother Bear in Foxglove's heart has awakened. There's basically nothing Fireflower can do against her now.

What would Smoothie have to do if she wanted to get the town evacuated?

I imagine the town has some sort of defensive measures in case of emergencies. Even if that's just getting all civilians the heck out of there.

Naturally, no PCs are going to be forced out of town once Simmer is unleashed. Just the NPCs.

I'm asking because I recall varying numbers of civilian ponies living in town. Regardless, the first priority would be getting everypony it was possible to to safety.

I have the odd feeling evacuation is going to involve Fireflower.

Naturally, this isn't relevant until Simmer actually gets out (Not sure when that's going to be) and may not be relevant at all (Maybe it just happens offscreen?) but I felt I should ask.

Somepony will order their pony guard to corral BG NPCs to safety.
