OOTS Minis!!!
OH MY GOSH.
Is there really no other thread to gush over this? I mean--AWESOME! I think that I totally need to save up money for these, even though I don't need them for any RPGs.

I'm also surprised that I never even considered something like this, yet it's totally logical.

Re: OOTS Minis!!!
So will Lord Hinjo will have his own wolf mount for his miniature? Kinda see him as Asian version of Space Wolves Thunderwolf cavalry.

Re: OOTS Minis!!!
Wowowowow Would you look at that thingie? Awesome! I wonder if I will be able to get that in my country. And Giant, I do not think a single fan of your work would think that you should not license new products while you cannot work... I for one am enthusiastic about this! I cannot wait to see V, Elan and Belkar... And Miss Starshine! And all the Paladins! Woooooooooo!!

Re: OOTS Minis!!!
I've been waiting for this forever! I don't want these for a game; just to display my OotS fanaticism on my desk! I would still have liked something like pre-painted vinyl, but hey, I've assembled and painted minis before. Ain't no thing!

Re: OOTS Minis!!!
To be honest, Roy just doesn't look right as a mini to me. I don't think OotS lends itself well to 3D.

Re: OOTS Minis!!!
I posted this over at Kickstarter, but it's relevant here too:
To answer some questions and generally inform:
- Yes, Morland is planning on making a full line of OOTS minis, including maybe even large complex minis at some point. The five other members of the Order, Xykon, and Redcloak are essentially guaranteed, with other characters possible depending on overall interest.
- Roy was chosen first largely because he is the simplest design. The fact that he's the leader only made it more appropriate.
- The initial production run for Roy was 600 figures, and they've sold more than half of that amount in the first 12 hours since I made the announcement. If (when) the figures sell out, they won't be taking backorders but they have already placed the second production order based on today's sales and they should be back in stock very quickly. Possibly even within days.
- I don't know whether the free shipping order will be extended past December 1st if that happens.
- I understand that this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but keep in mind that I didn't sit down and try to figure out what product would be most popular for everyone. A manufacturer of unpainted gaming miniatures asked me if I wanted her to make unpainted gaming miniatures. I said yes. I'm happy I did, because it looks like plenty of people like the idea.
- You'll notice in the website announcement that I said that this is the FIRST company that contacted me about licensing OOTS products...not the ONLY company.
- Maya has told me that she'll be putting together an assembly and painting guide PDF for everyone to download, which should help with any of you less familiar with this sort of thing.

Whee!
#6 intrigues me.
Also, this is now the time when all of the Playgrounders become (over a very short timespan) instant masters of model painting.

Ah, so there will be more Roys available in the future. Thank you for the update, Giant.
I was about to ask if there was anyone else feverishly waiting for money to transfer to paypal.

Re: OOTS Minis!!!
Free shipping? That's pretty cool, but I JUST submitted an order for Snips & Snails. It was my "see, even with no money I'm helping my favorite webcomic artist who smooshed his hand" for the month.
What? It's a real thing. You'll find justice at the end of my sword! Huh. Wait! My sword! Have you seen my sword?

Re: OOTS Minis!!!
Do they have stats? Most minis have stat cards... can we see a preview of Roy's card? So we know all the awesomeness he can do... so we can see how many die in his 'Great Cleavage' and stuff?

Re: OOTS Minis!!!
I've been interested in 3D items like figurines and BJDs a lot lately, and my I have friends who are into Warhammer and painting their miniatures for that so I was excited to see this.
I have no practical use for such an item, that is, to use in any games or things, but I'd love to have one as an ornament for my desk. But I'm all about sets, so I want all the OoTS gang if I'm getting any at all! If each figure is over $12, that could be a bit of a financial investment, so I have to think it over a little more ^^' . I have all the painting equipment necessary and have wanted to try my hand at painting a figurine for a while.
I hope the stick appendages are what are made of metal, since I'm most afraid of those breaking easily.
Welp, either way I'm excited to see how the rest turn out!
