Re: House of Much Random Banter and Haluesen's Various Wondrous Cookies #197
And that's what they said about the Great Auk, and now there aren't any.
No! My rock!
And that's what they all say. In the meantime, I'll just continue planning the design of your mausoleum.
Well, Mynxae complains if I listen to it too much.
I feel bad for not listening to the song on the other end of that link, but I'm having too much fun with other music.
Well, how it looks is important too. But I do like the idea of putting in extra meanings when I can. And besides, putting death and negative emotion related things in a wedding bouquet can have positive connotations anyway. Negative emotions symbolising willingness to work through them together and death by meaning that only death can separate the individuals in question.
I've never had such an issue with my grandmas and great aunts. But then, I wouldn't be particularly fond of cabbage casserole, so I don't know what to think.
You exaggerate. Excessively. I'll comment further when the Department of Tourism gets back to me about that annuity.
That would probably be less comfortable.
Hmm... Sounds like a plan. An impractical plan, but a plan nonetheless.
I wouldn't know. I'm the youngest of five and have no nieces or nephews yet, thus I have no opinion over whether or not it is easier to raise a male or a female child as of yet.
I love that game. Damn islands with their port closures...
Alas, it still remains more annoying than invigorating. Accursed biology dragging me down.
I'm all for longevity. Just... Not like in that episode of Star Trek. That would be bad.
As previously mentioned, if only it existed... The world of imagination is the greatest refuge, yet only a brief respite.
And that's what they said about lions and tigers and wolves...
If you really want. I can't stop you.
Personally, I don't want anything so fancy. But that does sound nice.

Re: House of Much Random Banter and Haluesen's Various Wondrous Cookies #197
So, what, you don't consider American restaurants to be restaurants or you consider them to be Chinese for some reason?
Some, sure, but no, not excessively. The only way to be safe from animals deciding that they're just going to be ornery cusses is to be a shut-in. Just knowing that you're in its territory can be enough for a wild boar to attack you if it's in the right mood. Just being within 10 feet of a venomous snake that's hiding silently beneath a log off to the side of a hiking trail... It's not enough to simply not try to pick up and play with bear cubs like an idiot.
Depends on how heavy the groupies that land on you are, I'd imagine.
If you can't be extravagant when you're planning your hypothetical funeral, when can you be? Well, I suppose there's actively trying for an inventive and memorable death, but that's just messy.
You can get an opinion just by having some idea of the education system and way that we treat little boys and little girls, Eli. XD How good of one it is varies from person to person, but I can't really be fair and fault you for not being me.
Ah, Madagascar. But I believe that was Pandemic 2 and 3, Pandemic 1 is so much simpler, of course.
Then you're just not meeting the right men. Or women. I don't judge.
Gonna have to be a bit more specific than Star Trek, as I believe it's been dealt with across several episodes and different series.
Progress marches on and all that jazz. We just have to cattleprod it every now and then to make sure it's keeping up the pace.
Lions and tigers and bears. Oh my~
Do you trust them not to murder you? If so, yes, of course. Why is there a question though?
edit: ION....SpoilerSo today I went to a Revolutionary War History Day for The Kiddies thing. Was pretty interesting, some local Sons of the American Revolution showed up and a couple of reenactors from North Carolina and several people complained about how there had been some measure of confusion as to whether this was associated with the political group or if it was actually, like, legit historical stuff. XD
Many of you are probably aware of just how… dowdy the clothing for women was in Colonial America, I’m sure. The sort of clothing that tries, very hard, to make men and women both forget that women have, well, chests. So I was particularly impressed when one of the reenactors who was doing a bit on the etiquette of how genteel people took tea was visibly well endowed even in one of those getups.
So between that, the petting zoo(so sue me, I love watching goats sullenly ignoring llamas), getting roped into helping one of the basket-weaving reenactors do a few layers on a basket, and discussing urine in much greater detail than I had ever expected I would with the washerwoman that pretty much made my day. I saw the big heavy sticks thick enough to beat a man with, but no copper rods like in Monstrous Regiment. I suppose it was only a small set up, so thick clubs would have likely sufficed for such purposes anyway.
Also watching the chillens make quilt squares at the craft table convinced me that I should look into getting or making some form of papoose or backpack for to carry the Coalzor around in, since I had to walk around with him on my shoulder for about an hour last night to get him to stop from crying and I was beginning to get tired of switching him from shoulder to shoulder, as embarrassing as it is to have my shoulders start to get tired from a mere 20 pounds of baby on them.

Hrm... Make it out of something besides limestone, please. I've had quite enough of that rock, I think.
His taste in music is questionable at best.
ABBA, from what I'm told. Tsk, tsk.
Depends on who else they invite, really...
I'm very tempted, but it's one of those annoying as hell ones where you hike down to a place, rather than up, so that when you've got to go back, you're already really tired, and you've got to then do the hard part.
That, and I'm not a big fan of hiking.Avatar by FinnLassie

Both, really. They don't exactly have those places outside the U.S. except for maybe certain fastfood joints still have a few items of Americana on their menus rather than having completely adapted to the places they've rooted down into.
And the statement was broad enough that it didn't merely cover places serving escargot or vindaloo or tikka masala but also places that have steak, hamburgers, potato wedges...
Sounds like it's high-time you started living a little then. XD
Well, then beat them with a stick when they look like they'll invite Mr. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2: Virginian Boogaloo.
Either that's some hardcore hiking or you're just grasping for straws. XD
Aww, but you should be. XP

Re: House of Much Random Banter and Haluesen's Various Wondrous Cookies #197
Well, we don't have many wild animals that are likely to do that. We have no large land carnivores, and the omnivores we have are comparatively lacking in the area of natural weaponry. In fact, I'd say that America is probably more dangerous from a wilderness perspective.
I don't want groupies, so it would be uncomfortable in any case.
And inconvenient. An inventive death would likely get in the way of my funeral.
Well, when I was in education, it seemed pretty equal to me. But that was several years ago and the most recent of those years was me being stressed to the brink of insanity and beyond. So... Yeah.
Their government is crazy good at avoiding the apocalypse. I suspect they cheat.
I'm not meeting anyone. I like not being in a relationship.
The Original Series. They go to that planet that looks identical to Earth and find all the three hundred year old children who get sick and die when they start growing up.
Personally, I think it's good at prodding itself along.
I would have said bears... But I couldn't remember any instances of bears being killed off because they were after people and/or livestock.
Note to self: Do not make Amidus's tomb out of limestone, reserve it for the sarcophagus.
I couldn't agree more.
Among other things of course. I have practically all of ABBA on this computer, not my doing, so I wouldn't listen to it while bouncing around YouTube much.Mauve Shirt, Savannah, Gnomish Wanderer, Cuthalion and Smuchmuch get cookies for making me avatars. (::)

Re: House of Much Random Banter and Haluesen's Various Wondrous Cookies #197
About the only thing we've really got on you is cougars which are mostly confined to certain bars and a narrow strip of the Western U.S. and bears, which aside from Grizzlies are actually the most predictable and easy-going apex predator I know of, and they all have narrow ranges, partially because we eat bears. Everything I've heard about Australian snakes though, is that there's only one snake that's more of an aggressive asshat than the bad snakes of Australia, and that's the one from Africa which makes one wonder how early humans managed to survive there in the first place. Also, crocs & the number of sharks and jellyfish make it so that there's no water sources that are safe to approach without having to very probably dance around or deal with a croc.
I didn't say they'd be your groupies. Still better than a rock though. And they're better than ending up under the amps. Or the roadies. Or the stage. Or the dressing rooms. Or the tour bus...
If your funeral would be disturbed by a lack of a pretty corpse or an extant body, you're thinking too much inside the box. In fact, forget the box entirely. It's ridiculous, bad for the environment, and horribly overpriced.
Just imagine being that stressed and having to deal with being a young woman with how society is set up for them.
Of course they cheat. They have lemurs and ninja death penguins.
Well, there's your first problem, you need to cut out with the hermit schtick and the rest will fall into place. Or it won't. Doesn't really matter, the important thing is to stop being a hermit.
Ah. Yeah. Obviously not like that. Making anyone be a child for longer than necessary is a horribad idea. Chillen may be innocent, but they're still horrible half-human monstrosities that exist to suck out the life force of real people so that they can become real people and grow into the adult form.
Usually.
...What do you think we do when we find out a bear has killed someone we actually care about? We don't throw it a ticker-tape parade in its honor. No, that's reserved for bears who do in people we don't like.

I am relatively dead in Manchester. I slept perhaps for two hours altogether? Uurfg.
What does one even do in Manchimoo... I probably should have planned this beforehand rather than feel bothered about it today. Ah well. There must be a museum or two open and perhaps a corner I could fall asleep in.Originally Posted by LaZodiac

Eh, the Chainsaw Massacre guy is more likely to pop out of the woods, anyway, given that the group is mostly composed of the fillies.
Combination of both? I'll very likely go, anyway.
What is so interesting about walking up and down hills? Don't tell me "you can see the naturey stuff", because I can do that online.
Indeed. Single people are happy people.

Why am I even doing this?
Uhh, I think that's how your foot is supposed to look, at least from what I've heard...

Heh, that's pretty cute as well. :3
I know that I from time to time slip and start writing sentences in Swedish while posting, but so far, I think I've caught all of them before hitting the Submit button...
An all-nighter?
Such a grim truth indeed...

Gah.
Two papers based on reviewing the audio of my role play interview of partner (diagnostic assessment and follow up, then a feedback paper to my partner of her interview of me).
Powerpoint/ Jing presentation of something current related to ethics in social work. And then reviewing and commenting of 5 classmates presentations.
*sigh*
I can't concentrate. Just don't want to do homework. It's gorgeous out and I want to go play in the yard. Or drink coffee. Or watch the Firefly marathon. Or listen to music. (Ok that one I can do while doing homework but still)
Why must the world conspire to ruin my concentration?!?

ER darling, how are you and your boys? I've not seen you for ages; or rather, I've seen you around, but not here.
Because puns are the heart and sole of the thread? Because you can't resist shoehorning in on a pun session? We really should try to bring this impulse to heel. My pun skills are much better today!
English is fairly French, only three words, aside from pronouns, are easy to guess if you know English.
And Dd'AN can be extrapolated from the usual acronyms running around here.
I was very tired, headachey and thinking quickly to translate the French, so my brain was doing both at once.
You'd think that the first two things would make me think in English, but nope! French all the way.
Maybe it's easier to catch when you're going from your primary language (which isn't very widely spoken outside of Sweden) to another language? Or maybe you're just more attentive.
Because the whole world is amazing, and work can be annoying.
Also you're not around this part of the Playground very much. Come play on the swings with me.

The boys are growing like weeds, and making me crazy. You know, the usual things boys do. It is only a real issue when I need to concentrate on school (like now) and they suddenly need 350% of my attention. (As opposed to the usual 200%).
*joins Curly on the swings*
You're right, of course, I need to just relax. Granted, the amount of coffee I have ingested so far today make work against that. Unless I add more and come out the other side. I may need to do that. In fact, I may need to remove myself from the house entirely and go to the coffee shop to get some work done. And have some coffee...
EDIT: I like steak. I like it just at the point where it's still bloody. Also, I like it on salad. But yes, I like steak. And bacon.Last edited by EmeraldRose; 2013-07-28 at 12:37 PM.
