Speaking from personal experience, Helio hugs are a wonderful thing. In this case, I think Muse wanted to offer condolences to Skeppio.

I've gotten Lyme's disease not once, but TWICE now. The main infection, and then a reoccurance of it. Apparently my area is one of the most concentrated areas of the disease...

Hmm... Maybe making one's own pies is more of a British thing than an Australian thing...
And yes, quite a number of shops sell pies, but the best are always from pie shops or bakeries.

Hmm, sounds expensive. Too expensive for an oftenly recurring dinner, at least...

Well, I guess the same apply to me. I do pay rent for living at home, but it's kind of pathetic, and while I do stand for my own expenditures, I'm rather low in maintenance. In the end, my rent is paid entirely by my study benefits (although I'll start paying more next month in solidarity with little brother who's moved out), and my study loans go into a bank account with a higher interest rate. Although I do plan to start using it eventually...

Did you even weather such an opinion?

Well, they may kill humans too, so there's that...

Seems like a good reason for using gloves, then. After all, both sticks and bones can be sharp enough to pierce skin...
I wouldn't really know. As I said, I don't know anyone who makes their own pies.

That's because it isn't a dinner that occurs often. My Mum usually cooks and if not, I prefer to make sandwiches rather than wait on the oven.

I can't recall the amount that I have to pay on board as it's deducted from my account automatically... I'll need to ask my Mum one of these days.

I'm not sure that this question makes sense... Could you rephrase it?

Not as likely. A smaller animal, such as a dog or a cat, is at much greater risk of dying due to tick paralysis. Fortunately, none of our cats have ever been the victim of one, so that's good.

A compost pile shouldn't contain either bones or sticks. At least, not if you intend to use the compost. After all, it's supposed to be soft and easily spread on one's garden...
Though yes, one should probably wear gloves.

Deer are an introduced pest species in parts of this country and they don't range this far North... So no, we probably don't have deer ticks.
As for tick-borne diseases... I can't recall any cases of anyone getting anything worse than a severe allergic reaction from a tick bite... We are indeed fortunate in Australia not to have those kinds of serious illnesses over here.
To be honest, I don't actually really know what Lyme's disease is... But I have heard about it, and it sounds pretty bad. I hope you have no lasting problems because of it.

My cousin lived in Massachusetts and got Lyme's disease once. Not very pleasant, to my understanding.

I took a rather long nap. As I woke up, I came to the depressed realisation that the grounds were not covered in sweet, white dusty snow. It was also depressing to notice that I still have all this uni work to do for today.

Damn it Facebook, showing how my friends in Finland are having fun with the first snow.

I love snow, I love it so. Why can't there be proper snow in Scotland... It makes my heart ache in sorrow. I'd rather have snow up my mid-thigh than have none at all!

Ah, to be home. I finally got my copy of the yearbook. Turns out I was voted one of 10 "outstanding seniors" last year.

Also, non-cafeteria pasta. Thank God. Girlfriend is coming down Tuesday because she had to anyway, so we're gonna grab dinner at this awesome Chinese place. Then on Wednesday I'm going to hang with my honors engineering buddies at OSU. I should probably find out who's going to be down to smoke some shisha ...

    Dear Fingerlingpotato,

    I wish so dearly I could settle into a quiet, relaxed winter, but a stupid number of things are going on. The least sane amount of things. When is rest? ;___;

Why does Scotland not get proper snow? I thought it was a coldish place. Would pictures of the Prairies, when the inevitable snows muster their bulks, please you or merely tease you? With the depth of cold we get and the sheer volume of snow, I'm afraid there is nearly no such thing as a fabulous winter shoe. Practicality rules like a doldrum tyrant.

I shall sit on your shoulder and fluff against your neck, if you can promise to let me rest there for a while. Just let me take a quick bath first so I am clean.

And what will you do with that laureled probity now? Will you rest upon it and grow sick with decaying glory, or will you press on, achieve, achieve?

I am still a trifle hung over from Saturnsday evening, when I and three other rapacious ghouls put away six bottles of wine and two bottles of port amongst us. That was an unkind mistake, and you will forgive me if I am still a bit sensitive unto noise (even if it makes summoning Ovis more unlikely).

Hrm... I like it when the sky is grey... it's mostly blue today, but there are some clouds. I'd love to see it snow soon, though... my favorite skies are the ones where it's all white... and the snow is nice too.

You should send us your snow. Hrm... I'd be willing to bet there's a way to make money selling snow online or something... I wonder how difficult that would be to set up? You'd obviously need refrigerated crates, but hrm... I wonder if it's feasible?

Heheheh... I should watch that movie at some point... I've heard quite a lot of good things about it.

Hmm, come to think of it, one of the more fun things we got to do at that age was to draw our dream jobs. Back then, I wanted to become an architect, but my imagination was really lousy back then, so I couldn't come up with any good design for the building straight across the street from my office (which was to carry the implied suggestion that I'd been the architect for it). It ended up as a concrete cube. With a rollercoaster sticking out of it. Adding a rollercoaster was the only interesting thing 6th (or possibly 5th) grader me could come up with.
Heh almost anything can be made more interesting by adding a rollercoaster. Just think if a cake had a miniature rollercoaster for figurines? So awesome. But I like that dream of yours. I have considered architecture before, should my gaming career not take off, and even what I want to do in video game design is mostly focused on wanting to design buildings and scenery.

Also how do you do currently Teddy?

This is true, there is honestly a lot in California and I have explored some of it, but I was born here and never left here, and so there is still some curiosity of the rest of the world. It is. And I have vast quantities of fun in ignoring her.

Fortunately, the United States is near other countries that one would conceivably want to travel to. I could go to New Zealand, but there's no one over there whose hospitality I could impose upon, so I'd be forced to pay for all of my accommodation and the costs would bankrupt me significantly. And as for Indonesia, well, let's just say that I don't want to be framed for drug smuggling.
Well, those are sweet pies. We don't do sweet pies in Australia very much. We'll do numerous varieties of tarts and the like, we just won't put a crust over the top and call it a pie.
    Makes sense.

I am indeed fortunate that there is a music store not so far away. In fact, it's right next door to my job agency. You can probably get some very good music online, but my powers of Google aren't all that great.
Oh okay, that is often forgotten? So very strange. But sensible. I'm always forgetting what I learned back in science.

I guess that can happen. I like my current pair, they aren't too bad, I just know that if I can I should try to get a new pair. I'd talk about how exactly my vision is bad, but I do not remember all of the specifics, just that I am nearsighted.

Heh! Well yeah, sometimes you just have to. I tend to just look away when the dogs start begging, though sometimes I may give them small bites. I tend to feed my dog a bit of those small packaged sausages when I prepare a few of them.

Yikes. Yeah, no Indonesia then. Other than that offer above from Taet, I don't really have anywhere I could go to stay if leaving where I live; outside of California I don't know many people. I have more friends in other countries than I do in nearby states. And to go to those places I would need to fly. Which I shall do! ...once I am done fearing planes.
Ah right, I think I have heard this before, about tarts at least. I don't usually have those sweet pies like apple or blueberry or similar. I've had chicken pot pie, it was pretty good. And of course the two sweet ones I mentioned are big favorites...okay now I am getting hungry. Off to the fridge!

It's okay, there are other search engines than google. And if I can get back in contact with my old band teacher who still lives around here, maybe I could ask for any extra sheet music she might have!
It's cool that you have a store so nearby. I haven't been inside a real music store in a long time. I was given my sax by a family friend, and I always bought reeds and cleaning supplies directly from the band teacher, who went and bought them specifically for that purpose.

So how do people do today? One week until my birthday and I am quite excited. Might be able to get online this weekend if the site works on my mom's Kindle, but if not then you all know where I shall be, and not off dying or anything.

Huh, mine's in a week and a half (next Saturday). Pre-emptive Happy Birthday!

Kindle or Kindle Fire? I've got a Kindle Fire and it works okay for browsing here, not so much for posting though.

The latter, me thinks. I am but a college freshman and I'm already on the MUN team--the only way to go is up!~ Or down. I could definitely go down. Far, far down.

I've gotten Lyme's disease not once, but TWICE now. The main infection, and then a reoccurance of it. Apparently my area is one of the most concentrated areas of the disease...
    Oh! My condolences.

Probably posting in the latest OOTS update thread. Both MoonCat and Dudebro Ship seem to do so when it updates.

Happy almost birthday man. As far as I know Kindles would be able to browse the site, but considering the way typing works on them it would probably be a bit difficult to post.

There can be--just not usually in October, that's all. The winter UKitP meetup a couple of years ago in Bradford was notable for being the same weekend that a fortnight of heavy snow started...even at 7pm on the Saturday, when I left, the snow was building up so badly that some cars were getting stranded. (It took me around four hours to drive the 40 miles home that day...).

(That was in mid-December, just so's you know).

    Editing images.

Sarcasm aside, I was adding some stuff and putting a transparent background layer on one of the things I've got, and inkscape was giving me a lot of trouble. I figured out how to do what I wanted to in gimp in less than three minutes, sans-instructions/tutorial.

So far it's just been orders of magnitude more straightforward. As someone who doesn't need to mess with image files very often, it's really nice to be able to figure out what I need to do within the first minute or two of mousing over buttons and clicking on things. Having what I try whilst stumbling through the software actually work is good too.

So I've hit a bit of a snag in computer assembly. Namely, we don't have any screwdrivers that fit a bunch of screws I need to pull out in order to fit in the video card... because Dad brought his toolbox up with him on his hunting trip. And I have no idea what size I need for it.

I've had problems like that before. All I needed was a phillips head screwdriver and all I could find was flat head. A decent set of tiny screwdrivers shouldn't set you back more than $10 though. I know Wal-mart sells some for like $5.

Oh my Kneeblein, what stresses you out so? Remember, you're always welcome to leave me a message via PM if you ever feel like ranting.

I suppose it's the island weather that ruins everything. Damn thee, Atlantic Ocean! Why must you torment me so?! I mean, it does get somewhat cold, but it's the sort of... unpleasant, wet cold. Not the crisp, merryful cold! Also, you must invest in some fantabulous winter shoes when time and money gives in.

I have to ask - do budgies usually enjoy such waterbaths? Is it common?

You're free to rest on my shoulder for an eternity, if it so be!

Hasn't it been unbearably hot there all summer and rather warm this autumn as well, if I recall correctly from what you've mentioned? Hmm.. To be fair, I have no clue what the temperature is outdoors. All that matters really is the amount of rain and wind.

I prefer PaintTool SAI myself. Gimp is sort of very derpy on Mac in my opinion.

I know Scotland has had better winters than last year, but ugh. Yes, there will be snow, but I doubt it will never be the same as it is in Finland. A good long, proper winter with lots of wintery joy... Not in Scotland, no. Why do I even live here...

What I don't get is why the UK never seems to prepare for snow and winter. Schools get shut down for a day or two, trains stop moving and everyone's in pure panic when there's like 5 to 10 inches of snow.

Oh, how nature taunts us. The delectable and beautiful snowfall is forever withheld until the time wherein it becomes inconvient, and then it will come with a vengeance.
