Re: Playground Squares: WW Edition (Game Start on Page 2)
By the way - if Sanity has access to any villager in his group, I emailed him proof of my innocence this morning. Going by numbers, I couldn't have acquired it from anyone else but his group at this point of the game, so I hope it will be enough

Actually I keep quiet, because I don't get on here so much these days.
I've pretty much just been following along in most of this game.

Re: Playground Squares: WW Edition (Game Start on Page 2)
I'm going to my grandma's and getting back on Monday. I'll have a little internet access, but won't be posting as much.
Then I'm gonna be going on musical camp from Tuesday through to Thursday, with absolutely no internet access.
It would be nice if I weren't auto-lynched over this period.
Although I doubt this game will last that long.
Oh, and evnafets for this mysterious thing Trixie has.Avatar by Me!

Re: Playground Squares: WW Edition (Game Start on Page 2)
The crowd looked to their leaders for guidance. "Well let's see. He's good. I'm good. She's good. He's a mime so he's probably not guilty cause the bad guys speak. That just leaves Trixie and Evnafets. Let's go with Trixie." Much murmuring and nodding of heads followed as they turned towards Trixie.
With a nervous grimace, Trixie shook his hands in front of him in hopes of staving off the crowd. "Now... now wait a minute guys. I don't want to be a Square. No one lives through that! No one!"
"Well... if you don't live, we'll know you're innocent and not a janitor. Cause surely the janitor would know how to escape his own death traps." The crowd nodded. The logic was sound. It seemed as if Trixie was doomed to a trial by fire.
"But... but... but... WAIT!" Trixie called out at the last second, giving the crowd pause. Putting on a monocle, Trixie pulled out numerous charts and graphs and a pointer. "As you can see by these brightly colored graphs, I am not the wolf you are looking for. Following the Trixie constant through the recession of auto's vs. successful banes ratio inverted by the number of new silly message board posts carrying the 1 and... obviously evnafets is the wolf."
The crowd blinked at Trixie slowly. He let out a small nervous laugh as a bead of sweat rolled down his face.
"That's... I dunno..." He trails off, skeptical.
"Well he does have brightly colored graphs..." One member adds.
"Those are never wrong!"
"Yeah! 90% of all statistics on the internet are right!"
Swayed by the bright colors, the crowd grabs Evnafets and shoves him into the square, strapping him to the chair.
The host steps up and clears his throat. "Ahem. Everyone loves sequels. They're like the second best thing in the world aside from the first best thing in the world. Speaking of second, who was the second person to post in the very first Bump thread right after the thread creator?"
A) Atreyu the Masked Llama
B) Lucky
C) DungeonMaster77
D) Supagoof
Twilight 7 begins now and ends in approximately 48 hours.

Re: Playground Squares: WW Edition (Game Start on Page 2)
But, but, but... I haven't even answered the question yet...
And its not a fair question. This happened even before Li'l Evvie was bornded. How do you expect me to know the answer to a question like this?
Anyway my answer. The Bump thread is one of the awesomest threads in the SMBG forum. But who posted second in it? Atreyu the Masked Llama? Mr Llama? The mostest awesomest Llama in the whole wide world? The thread is so awesome, and Mr Llama is so awesome that he must have been the person to start it. So unless he bumped it himself, he can't be the right answer. DM77? Mr DungeonMaster started the most awesomest game in SMBG. In fact he is the whole reason why Li'l Evvie is such a lovable little boy! But I don't think he is the one who posted second in the bump thread.
Who else was there? Mr Lucky? Mr Goof? I like Mr Goof. He is lots of fun. And he has these two little funny guys with him who say OPAH, and always make me laugh. They're a lot of fun they are, and playing in the bump thread is just the sort of thing they would do. Lucky is a Leprechaun. And Leprechaun have tons of gold. And he wore green and a top hat. And he's Lucky!
So thats my Answer. Lucky! Because he is Lucky!
No wait! Its Atreyu. Because he is the mostest awesomest Llama.
NO! WAIT! Its DM77 because...
but Lucky is the lucky answer and so it must be
... Llama is so awesome...
OPAH! It must be Supagoof.
Final answer. Supagoof.
Do I get to push the big red button now?Last edited by evnafets; 2010-04-23 at 01:42 AM.

The host turns to the audience. "Well audience, do yo-"
"AGREE!!" The audience interrupts. The wind from the sound blows past the narrator as his hair and tie whips about in a frenzy, his eyes squinted shut to protect them. After it dies down, there's a brief moment of silence as the disaster-ridden host stands there stunned.
...
...
"Well fine. But we're still having night before the results come in."
The host takes out a tube of hair gel from his pocket and starts fixing his hair.

Re: Playground Squares: WW Edition (Game Start on Page 2)
"The original creator of the Bump thread was in fact Jontom Xire. And the second person to post in it was..."
*drumroll*
"Supagoof! Since the audience was correct, you kn-"
"To hell with this!" The Janitor shouts, hitting a secret button on the armrest, releasing the straps and letting him jump to his feet. "I'm taking you down here and now!"
The audience scatters as the Janitor grabs his trusty plunger and darts at the Host with a powerful overhead swing. The Host barely manages to block with his microphone. The ensuing combat between the two created many a *thunk* as the two objects collided. It also created a great deal of really annoying and painful feedback.
One enterprising zombie kitty crept forward, taking advantage of the noise in hopes of a sneak attack. But as she lept, the Janitor noted her out of the corner of his eye and quickly whipped out some industrial strength cleaner, spraying her with it.
The undead cat learned quickly why the cleaner says not to get in the eyes or on the skin as she fell to the floor twitching. Melting. Not living anymore. Unliving. Not alive... dead dead... Whatever. The zombie cat was no more.
The host took the opportunity granted to knock the cleaner out of his grasp, causing it to fall to the floor and explode, sending industrial strength cleaning fluid all across the floor, melting it away into makeshift platforms and revealing the Cthulhu abyss under the floor. The host glared at the Janitor before leaping across the pit of madness. The Host nearly lost his balance as the Janitor swiftly sidestepped and brought his plunger into the host's knees, forcing him to kneel at the Janitor's mercy, the pit right behind him. The host just looked up and smiled. "Strike me down and I'll become more powerful than you can possible imagine!"
The Janitor paused, plunger close to the Host's face, ready to deal the finishing blow. "Oh yeah? How so?"
The Host leans forward to whisper. "I'll. Die. MESSILY."
"ARGHHH!!"
Furious, the Janitor raised his plunger for a massive attack instead of just pushing the host off. Taking advantage of the momentary laspe of judgment, the Host darts upwards, shoving the microphone into the Janitor's chest. Stunned, the Janitor looks down at the wound, slowly stumbling backwards before falling off the platform and into the pit below.
His reign of cleanliness had ended.
And the audience rejoiced.
The one member left that was still alive that is.
The Jeopardy contestant just let out a sigh of relief and went on to his own show to win thousands of dollars.
The host looked around at the various holes in the floor, the crumbling ceiling, occasional blood splatters, and cue cards scattered everywhere.
A light creaked before crashing to the floor.
"Now who is going to clean up this mess?"
Elsewhere....
*ring ring*
*ring ring*
"Yeah. Hello."
"WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING?!" A voice shouted through the phone at him.
"Err... I'm... at this moment?"
"You were supposed to bring down Playground Squares ratings! We hired you to sabotage them! But their ratings have shot through the roof and we've seen no evidence of your activity at all!! So I ask again... WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING?!"
The Saboteur winced as his ear got another mouthful. "Oh. Right. That. Well, I, um..." He looks down at the snack bar. "I... forgot."
"Forgot?"
"Well, sir. They have some really good cakes and cookies here and I sort of... been... well if I ruin them there won't be any more free pastries!"
"..."
"YOU IDIOT! You get back here right now! I'll wring your neck! You're FIRED! Do you hear me?! FIR-" *beep*
The saboteur turned off his phone. "Geez. Worked up any? Ooh! Blueberry pie!"

Re: Playground Squares: WW Edition (Game Start on Page 2)
Damn.
Who woulda thunk I got that question right?
And why oh why did everyone agree with me?
1) Did you enjoy the game?
Yeah.
2) Did you feel the Narrators did a good job?
Definitely
3) Did you enjoy your role?
Epic fail as a devil. I missed actions on night 1, scried the autolynched character on night 2, and proceeded to bumble my way through the audience...
Not happy with my performance...
4) Were the narrations good?
Awesometastic.
5) Was the game balanced?
Yeah. The wolves weren't so active however, and the seer scrying the baner didn't help...
6) What did you think of the questions?
I almost think thet questions were a waste of time. Nobody was saved by them. If anything they give a but more power to the Villager side, because its like there are two votes to lynch the person.
7) Would you play again?
Yeah, I'd play again.
8) Any other comments?

Re: Playground Squares: WW Edition (Game Start on Page 2)
Well, I'm gonna say yes, for the following reasons:
If it wasn't silent all the questions would have to be ludicrously hard, which would probably be both annoying for the narrators and players, the narrators because they have to come up with them, and the players because then their lynch is basically down to a 50:50 chance.
If it was silent then your lynch wouldn't be guaranteed because one player knew the answer to the question.
Of course that prevents what I tried to attempt in that the players on the side of the lynchee could try and fool the voters.Avatar by Me!

1) Did you enjoy the game?
Loved it! First seer role!!!!!
2) Did you feel the Narrators did a good job?
They were amazing!
3) Did you enjoy your role?
OOOO yea, I am a horrible seer though I missed two maybe three scries. I really got confused with that whole twilight period thing.
4) Were the narrations good?
Very much so....
5) Was the game balanced?
Yup!
6) What did you think of the questions?
Did not know a single one and as such am glad I was not on the chopping block
7) Would you play again?
any time
8) Any other comments?
Yea.... Sorry about that whole accident around day 1/day 2......
oh yea wolves, I was outed as the seer, why did you not at least try to night kill me?

Aww nuts I got killed right at the end. D:
Oh well. It was fun.
1) Did you enjoy the game?
Very amusing game.
2) Did you feel the Narrators did a good job?
The narrations were what made the game so much fun to read. My deathscene was awesome.
3) Did you enjoy your role?
I enjoyed being a sheep, yup.
4) Were the narrations good?
See part 2)
5) Was the game balanced?
Pretty much.
6) What did you think of the questions?
Some of them I knew (or was able to look up). Was a nice twist - an uncertainty principle for the whole thing.
7) Would you play again?
Yep

Re: Playground Squares: WW Edition (Game Start on Page 2)
Because you would have been protected quite obviously, a night kill would have been lost, and your role as "good" would have been confirmed.
So I went through killing and scrying everybody else trying to find the baner.
Maybe it was the wrong call.
Nehh would have been in a bit of a conundrum. Protect the seer, or protect himself?
Should the agree/disagree segment be silent? As in, no discussion, everyone just votes. This is important, if there is ever a second iteration of the game.
Or maybe we nominate one person to agree/disagree?Last edited by evnafets; 2010-04-25 at 04:24 AM.

Re: Playground Squares: WW Edition (Game Start on Page 2)
PMing the agreeing/disagreeing could be a good idea - then not only can someone who knows the answer not state that confidently and get the lynch to go through, people can't even intentionally follow someone who they think knows the answer. It becomes purely down to how well the person to be lynched fooled the other players.
"'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Re: Playground Squares: WW Edition (Game Start on Page 2)
Seems Lex jumped the gun a bit on me. Silly Lex.
Possible changes for future iterations:
- Remove Twilight and just make the person answer at Night along with all agree/disagree. Make Night 48 hours long. - Twilight was unnecessary and confusing and resulted in a narration that was generally bland and uninteresting due to the lack of things that happened in it.
. - Silent agree/disagree. Probably through PMs. - It was too easy for the entire audience to figure it out. Though trickery like what Bill pulled can't happen (which failed due to the unlucky 1/4 chance ), it still allows the person answering to be tricky. Interestingly enough in the trial version Lex ran, every person chosen for lynch survived with the questioning whereas in this game every person died.
. - Remove the once per game protection rule. - If you're clever enough to outwit the audience every time, then you deserve to live. I'm wary of this though, especially if going to the silent agree/disagree. However, it does give the Saboteur a bit more of an oomph as he can target people he thinks will survive the first questioning.

Word.
Everyone give Reinholdt another big hand for his work on this. As a narrator, I may have contributed a little bit*, but Reinholdt ran the show. He was AWESOME as a narrator and someone I'd happily run another game with again.
(*LLD taking up a good percentage of my time, if we do add the silent vote, let's not run these two at the same time. Should be easy, LLD runs once a year and always kicks off on April fools day.)
