Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
They are looking for the Jade Key, which is probably in the hands of a Dragon-Blood, somewhere on the Blessed Isle.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
More or less my assumption. It's been a while, have we actually been told that that's their current objective, or are we just guessing based on the evidence?
Edit - ah, FaFL gives us a rundown of what they're probably looking for in comic 280 (Jade Key), but it also is where we get our clue about the Blade of Vitality.Last edited by WalkingTarget; 2010-09-04 at 02:03 AM.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Also, the Blessed Isle is where the Realm is based, which means it has the highest concentration of Dragon-Blooded in Creation, as well as the base of the Dragon-Blooded Immaculate Faith -- which is in charge of killing Anathema (that is, Lunars and Solars and, if they find out about them, Abyssals and Infernals, too). So it's a dangerous place for them to travel to, and a hard one for them to reach without a passage like this.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Yeah, but I didn't want to get into that one, since it's complicated (and some people argue about it.) The 1e castebook fiction and some things in 2e are pretty clear on the fact that a Sidereal who is actually careless enough to be seen with his anima and caste mark up will generally be taken for some weird sort of Anathema (pretty much 'caste mark & light-based anima = Anathema'), and many things imply that the typical DB response to discovering them will often be "the Immaculate Order is controlled by Anathema!"

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Oh. Several pages ago people were talking about Marena and Karen, and about identical twins, and about how if that's what they are Karen's top must be uncomfortable. But genetics are not all that's involved in such aspects, and I vaguely remembered Marena talking about that to Secret, but couldn't find the page back. Here it is.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
That's like arguing that you should shoot Mother Theresa the second she goes for her fork at dinner because Charles Manson *might* have disguised himself as her and be preparing to stab your baby with it.
It's technically true, but that kind of crazy logic can be applied to absolutely anything.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Well, that was a more amusing response than I expected.
I kinda meant Fiends as literally as possible: Chosen of the Ebon Dragon probably aren't such a good thing for Yu-Shan.
Is that out of the context of the good point you were making? Oh my, yes. Just struck me as amusing enough at about 4 in the morning, so here we are.

I can see where the incarnation of valor (among other virtues) might miss how such things could be less than comforting to human beings, but still...

I'm impressed! I can make out Malfeas, Oramus and The Lidless Eye That Sees (now Sacheverell). Thanks to Andraste for the Void avatar.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
Malfeas is the city with a sun over it, the Lidless Eye that Sees is the sphere over the mountain, and Oramus is the dragon.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
I have rarely felt as much sympathetic pain for anyone, real or not, as this one makes me feel for Misho. Empathy yes, sympathy no.

Re: Keychain of Creation IV: The Lore Thing
I know. Poor Misho. But I feel like the next page is going to make it worse.
Also, I was rereading the comic when I noticed what Secret's doing in the seventh panel of this comic.
