Re: KuReshtin's Vociferously Ruminating Harbinger of Random Banter - #147
Philosophy be damned, he is the same man. It is canonically the case within the Doctor Who universe that a Time Lord's regenerations are all still the same person.
If (Hypothetically) a poor actor got cast as the Doctor, it might make it a bad show, or at least not as good, but it would still be the same show."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Re: KuReshtin's Vociferously Ruminating Harbinger of Random Banter - #147
Can he remember his past lives? Theirs an argument that you aren't even the same person if you can't remember back to a time when you remembered a forgotten memory. I'm not making sense anymore.
I think we changed arguments on you when you werent looking.
EDIT: I got attacked by a Ninja. And OK I suppose.

Re: KuReshtin's Vociferously Ruminating Harbinger of Random Banter - #147
Except the Doctor is the Doctor. He is the last of the Time Lords. Whilst philosophically he could be considered to have different mannerisms and viewpoints he is still the same person as much as the Master is the same person.
The different incarnations of the Doctor make references to their own incarnations and have referred to their past incarnations as 'Me' or 'I'.
Same person. Different face. Different quirks.
Not ginger.
EDIT: Yup, he remembers all of his past lives, something which he would rather not do where it concerns the Time War in some cases.Last edited by Malfunctioned; 2010-09-15 at 06:12 PM.

Who said not being ginger like it was a bad thing?
A ginger doctor would be mocked. Even the Daleks and the Cybermen who look RIDICULOUS would totally make fun of him, and he'd be so sad the world would wind up dying to a stupid plot about bees or something.Everything I say is 100% TRUTH*

Tennant and Smith.
"Oh, I wanted to be ginger, I've never been ginger..."
"And still not ginger!"
Hey, bees are aliens. It could happen. Except for the part about him letting it. Any daleks or cybermen mocking the Doctor for anything tend to have a drastically reduced lifespan."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

I'm skeptical, but I feel this hypothesis deserves research. FOR SCIENCE!
Fred, get in here so we can mock you. FOR SCIENCE!
@^: Based on what? We've made a few observations on singular points of it. Nowhere near enough for to develop an informed opinion. As this is the case I will allow you the chance to recant your heresy.Last edited by Thufir; 2010-09-15 at 08:26 PM.

Re: KuReshtin's Vociferously Ruminating Harbinger of Random Banter - #147
I fear I shall defy your science, for being born with physical disadvantages gives one an early playground exposure to adversity, and as a consequence one of a temperament such as mine grows long used to rising above it, and indeed to wholly ignoring insults and disparaging remarks. If I were not ginger, I should have a weaker character, not a stronger one. As things stand, I have emerged into adulthood with a more dominant and resilient personality than many... so mock; mock away.
Lest the dreaded BEE ALIENS appear, I would be doing my very utmost to slaughter them all - being ginger has given me a hatred of all buzzing insects (I can't deny that; I think it was only two days ago that I posted that a hornet was attacking me), to the point where most insects raise my urge to kill. Pass the guns!

Re: KuReshtin's Vociferously Ruminating Harbinger of Random Banter - #147
How should one correctly pronounce the word chassis?
I have heard it both rhyme with statis, and lassie, with a velar, with a postalveolar...
I have this problem where I read more than I talk, and I have all these words in my head that I've never heard aloud. Like I'd read the name Thames a million times, and then the first time a few years ago it came up that I needed to say it, I go and pronounce it to rhyme with James and an unvoiced dental fricative and embarass myself.
Surely I'm not the only one with this problem.

Stupid work computer!
I did a reboot earlier today, and when the laptop tried to boot up, it failed on the Windows system file. Like the entire folder of system files. All at once.
It's currently away to get reinstated, and luckily the 20 gig or so of files I needed to be saved were recoverable. It's a bloody nuisence to not be able to work, though.
Good thing I have web access on my phone.

Re: KuReshtin's Vociferously Ruminating Harbinger of Random Banter - #147
*drags in a sofa and lies down on it* Ahhh, it feels so good to be ahead on homework for about 1-2 weeks depending on the subject. I'm taking a 15 minute break here before I start working on my homework for a subject that's due next week Friday.
Sorry for disturbing you people but I felt the urge to share this for some reason. I like free days where I can work on my school stuff so I won't have to worry during school days.
