Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Wait wait wait wait WAIT.
Game of Thrones AND Adventure Time start new seasons in April?
Ok, I'm going out to buy months worth of food and enough bricks to seal off my room. I don't want to be disturbed.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Legend of Korra is coming soon too.
I wholeheartedly support a catfight turning suparsexay. Because lesbihonest, Bubblegum never seems interested in any guys anymore, and Marceline has had her share of heartbreak with guys. It's only natural"The point of war is not to die for your country, but to make the other [guy] die for his."

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Honestly, now that Finn has a new crush, he should end up with her. Then PB and Marceline can finally admit their lesbian love.
Leave a small hole for me to crawl in through. I'll call into work and grab some more food on the way there.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I dunno you guys... The whole point of sealing myself off was to AVOID human contact while I watch he new episodes. Having 2+ other people might fly in the face of that...
I'll make you a deal, agree to a few conditions and you're in.
1) The sealed off area is a dictatorship. I am the dictator. My word is law.
2) Bring extra snacks. Drinks too. I prefer Dr. Pepper and Mountain Dew.
3) In the event that we run out of snacks, the order for cannibalism starts with the most recent person to agree to come and continues as such until only I am left.
4) Once the area has been sealed, it will remain so until the season is over. No one enters or leaves during that time.

I'm fairly skinny myself, with only a little bit extra due to laziness. We COULD just order some pizza, you know.

No, once the room is sealed, nothing gets in or out. That includes pizza delivery.
If the two of you prefer, you could fight to the death for who gets eaten first I suppose.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Anyone do any class/level geekery for Finn at any point?
One of the thing's that got me so happy about this show in the first place was that it reminded me so strongly of being a little pre-teen, finding some 2nd Ed. DnD books and trying to teach myself how to play. Hanging around with older kids and absorbing the rules from them. Making stuff up as I go. The whole show feels to me like Jake and PB and even Marceline are being played by teenagers or 20-somethings and Finn is played by somebody's little brother or something.
Not to detract from the truly awesome, explicit setting of the show. But it's impossible for me to watch without remembering some really good times as a 12 year old.
Jake- a wizard who just uses polymorph so Finn's player can feel useful? What about Finn? A barbarian? Paladin of Freedom? He sure seems to flip out and smash stuff a lot (or go on crazy groin-punching sprees) but on the other hand, he gets called paladin a few times by other characters. What about PB?
Sorry to any non-DnD players in this thread. For what it's worth, in my opinion, you've totally absorbed a chunk of the DnD experience just from watching this show. :)

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Well, Fin has some issues about the chaotic end of the spectrum: See City of Thieves for your best example. However, while he might act all good and kind-ish, noting he realy does strikes as "lawful". Probably a NG with Chaotic tendencies that will fade with age as he gets more mature, where he would be unlikely to go smash some sparkles and such. Class is hard-ish. No real magical power, and even the varing magical items around the place tend to be self-aware or actively evil. I would go with a solid Fighter with some nifty feat tomfoolery.
Alternitivly. the world works on 1'st edition rules and he, as the only human, is the only one who can advance to certent levels of power.
PB is a Expert, any Rainicorn is a magical creature, and Jake is playing some weird templated (Strechy) humaniod dog.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I could see fighter, too; maybe he uses power attack a LOT. Maybe leap attack, too. Thing is, in my head, the little guy's got some serious levels. He's gone toe-to-toe with
Spoiler1000 year old vampires, said vampires Eldritch Abomination dad, the Lub-Glubs, the Lich King... even the Ice King is pretty powerful, despite his crippling handicaps.
Assuming, for a second, that that's true and the dude's got two-digit levels on him, does he really show off the range of feats a fighter of that level would have? I suggested Paladin of Freedom because he sometimes lays down some vicious smacks that could be Smite Evil, but he definitely isn't lawful enough to be a vanilla Paladin. Also,But alternately, I can't help but thinking off the look on his face sometimes. Guy's definitely got some valid anger issues- could it be barbarian rage? My initial thought was he's probably about level 17 for the barbarian Tireless Rage feature. The only time I remember him being seriously tired after flipping out and winning was versusSpoilerthe Fight King episode illustrated the little dude's got a pretty awesome will save!SpoilerMarceline's Dad.
Your 1st edition theory carries some water, too, for sure! Maybe 'the Human' isn't just a title. :P
I think there's a 3.5 template for gelatinous creatures; that could fit Jake, I guess, but I'm pretty attached to my idea that Jake is some dude's totally awesome wizard character, transplanted to play with Finn and trying not to wreck the fun for him.
EDIT: The Trap Sense ability fits Finn pretty well, too, actually; after all, HE'S IN HIS ELEMENT!!!!!!Last edited by Otomodachi; 2012-03-02 at 02:14 AM.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
First off, mearly becuase you get angry when you are fighting does not mean that you should get class abilties from it. Yeah, he gets angry, but that does not mean that he somehow enters a trance-like state when he does it. Also, still rooting with Fighter here, because notice that he rarly actualy fights any better when he gets mad: just the opposite.
AlsoSpoilerhe never realy fights most of the magic-users like a DnD player would.
Rare is the time where he actualy fights the more powerful creatures in single combat. The fight with MD was basicly him crit'ing him a leap attack and using the magical circle that he copied from the 1000+ year old Vampire Sorcerer he knows, the Lich failed a check to move out of the way of the leaping boy and failed when he got shafted by the grapple rules by a kid with a Postive-energy infused cloth object, and the Lub-Glubs where more than he could handle, due to them being pretty intagnable, and where only killed off when the light was made. The giant Lub-thingi from Dad's Dungen was slain by the now-traditinal Strike-at-the-weakpoint-vi-Leaping-the-giant-suckers.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I have a theory...
Finn and Jake grow up to become the Toguro Brothers.
-They're brothers (even if not by blood)
-One's a front line fighter who's strong
-The other can stretch, shapeshift, and can move and re-size their organs
It makes so much sense.
