Blowing up Erfworld
This is an idea I talked about with Jamie. I hate how much we have to shrink and artifact Jamie's art to make it into a webcomic, and also how much of it I have to block out with text when I am lettering.
So every week or so, we'll put up the art from a single recent panel, blown up to a larger size and without speech balloons. This way, the artists among you can get a closer look at Jamie's technique, and everyone can get a better feel for the world and what it will look like when it's eventually in printed form.
Our first pretty picture is from Page 5, the interior of Stanley's office. Note the tiny pigeons.

Re: Blowing up Erfworld
Hmm... aye, it definately would be nice to see it in full size form.
If they're natively in that format, would it be possible for you to provide links to the whole comic pages (as they come out) in full size? Even if you just link it on the Forum, I'd rather see it in its intended size than in a shrunken format.
So I guess that's one vote for full size =)-Edgar Verona

Re: Blowing up Erfworld
Nice! :) And I agree with Edgar, I'd like to see the whole comic if possible.
Google query for the Giant's posts, for those of us who think they're way more interesting than yet another speculation thread but don't have time to read every thread on the forum to find one he's posting in.

Re: Blowing up Erfworld
Maybe you could fool around with the speech bubbles' transparencies, that way more Jamie's lovely art would be visible. If not, then I'll still enjoy it.

Re: Blowing up Erfworld
I didn't really like the examples you showed up above, I don't think they gave the artwork the justice that it deserves.
However I think it would be cool if each page of the comic was also a clickable link to a larger version of the artwork. That would be cool.

Re: Blowing up Erfworld
That blown up picture would look nice, except that the lines are too thick. Stop drawing with such thick lines, and the whole comic would look nicer.

Thank you. It's quite beautiful, even when shrunk.

Re: Blowing up Erfworld
Thank you! Perhaps that's what's driving me nuts about the artwork. It's not designed around the speaking balloons. Or the text size to panel size ratio is completely off. Either could make it better. Although it might have to be one panel per page to keep the text readable.
Perhaps finding a more space-efficient font could help. I'd rather look at more of Jamie's artwork than a pretty font.

That looks pretty good.
I think most of that comic would be good blowups.I WILL round this Cape, even if I have to keep sailing until doomsday!

Re: Blowing up Erfworld
I'll admit, I started out feeling iffy about the artwork, but after just a day or two of looking at it I'm madly in love with the style. It's such a unique take on... well... reality! I'd love full-comic blow ups. Might even be able to make a couple of awesome wallpapers out of it.

Re: Blowing up Erfworld
The lighting in that dragon-flying-over-camera-angly-thingy is so very well-made.
EDIT: I can see one of the photoshop brushes used on the sky, as well. That isn't a bad thing, though.

Hey Jami, can I request a blowup of the last panel in page 10? With Ansom addressing the Heavies?
Thanks in advance.--
