Whipped up some followers for one of my deities from the previous page, Nedan.

Simple, English is your native language. I've noticed that people sometimes make more mistakes on their native tongue rather than learned languages.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
@AddZable: Oh my, I'm sorry. I was meaning to give you a sentence or two of your own about the creepy orc. Allow me to remedy my error.
Firstly, given creepy as your criteria it fits well. The mouth, especially, is what gives it the unsettling nature. I liked it a lot better before the ears, actually. The far ear is good but the forward one on the head is too thick and curved oddly.
The Jedi Gnoll is quite well-done. The feet look a bit weird but everything else is flawless.
I suppose in both images the clothing is plain, but given the more OotS-roots style that isn't a problem.
@Kurien: I don't believe I mentioned, but the 'realistic' OotS bodies are very intriguing and well-crafted. In fact I stole a bit of inspiration from you for my latest work seen at the end of this post. The trio of avatars you did for thattaman, thattaman, and Dusk Eclipse was amazing. You are so good at arts
@asdlove: Simplifying the skull on the cat's head was a good idea and cures the line weight problem. Cute cat! I do not know how you keep so prolific. The Nedan followers are very good also. Are they related? The very similar way their hair grows makes me think they're related. Anyway orange is a great color I don't see used enough. The poses are a little stiff, however, and I really don't like the 1-pixel belly button on the third. Otherwise its good stuff.
@Derjuin: I like your champions quartet. They are very varied, though I cannot tell the difference between lawful and chaotic good in the picture linked. I still can rarely get that level of detail on my armor, mainly due to an envisioning problem. Good work. The catfolk's dress seems a little loose, but otherwise she is excellent, I love her face (and by extension hair and ears).
@Cuthalion: Like I mentioned in a SMBG, I very much appreciate the idea that that avatar was based on the stylistic choices I tend to make in OotS avatars, it's quite flattering. The cloak in that one seems to be turned at an odd angle. Still, I like it. ^.^
@Spruce56: Ooo, nice scene. I like them all, very nice. Like Cuthalion implied, I find your personal style preferable to the simplified one below. The only thing is their 'more little' eye seems a little too small, which may be your problem regarding how you feel about eye placement. The spotted cloak is one of the most well-done examples of textured color I've seen used in OotS work.
@Darklord Bright: Nice and dynamic, good work on those guys. Your hair shading is very good and I especially like the first guy's jacket. The only things that bug me is that the clothes on the women look 'shaky' somehow, perhaps too realistic for the style, while the shoes on all of them are oversized. Otherwise it is nice stuff.
Now to show off my avatar for feedback that I plan on wearing on March 6th (1 year anniversary of the release of ME3):

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
Yup, I thought Shadow was so adorable, I added her to my sig.
...The belly button looked better in Inkscape.
The poses are my basic character template I have for... um everyone I draw.
I just didn't alter it at all this time.
No they're not related, the spiky hair similarity thing is purely coincidental.
Right? No one ever uses orange.Last edited by asdflove; 2013-02-27 at 09:44 PM.

Gnomish and asdflove, I am liking those avatars. Everybody just keeps getting better and better!
As for spruce56 and Darklord, welcome to the thread!
Now, here is a Rune Giant, straight from the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path I am running with my friends!
~The meteorite is the source of the light, and the meteor's just what we see,
and the meteoroid is a stone that's devoid of the fire that propelled it to thee.
And the meteorite's just what causes the light, and the meteor's how it's perceived,
and the meteoroid's a bone thrown from the void that lies quiet in offering to thee.~

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
Wow, thank you, I'm so glad you like the cloak! It was my favourite part of the original picture I did, trying to figure out how to make the alchemist match the more detailed elves I did first. Although, I just noticed I forgot the fighter's shield again.
Using an original OotS comic as a reference, the eyes are pretty much the same size as they should be, just moved more towards the middle - would have to adjust the centreline for hairdos on all of them to fix that X_x. Will try to, on my next picture of them.
Nice work on the Mass Effect armour.Last edited by spruce56; 2013-02-27 at 11:51 PM.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
Appreciate the feedback!
However, barring the things I occasionally do to the shoes to make them look like specific kinds of shoes and boots, they're almost the exact same size as the actual OotS feet! (Not counting the chunkier, stubbier boots you see on the fighters like Roy, which seem like they'd probably have to roll up their incredibly long toes to fill)
In regards to the 'shakiness', both of the women are wearing baggier clothes than the men, because they actually do in the game. The wiggles are all the creases and folds I add to indicate such, and I've always liked making them look that way to differentiate them from the blander, straighter clothing. It's probably a personal preference, but these templates are actually a lot simpler than my normal ones are. I don't tend to use the OotS style, but when I do I like the small details.
Thanks for the input, though!Last edited by Darklord Bright; 2013-02-28 at 04:51 PM.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
Here's another of my Pathfinder group - drawn the day before a game, when I was feeling impatient, so here's the characters getting ready as well.
Spoiler
Vyndir/Elf Sorcerer, Kharad/Human Fighter, Nuth/Drow Alchemist (mine), and Rylonna/Elf Ranger.
*This was drawn before the picture I posted earlier, so that feedback hasn't been applied yet, like the shorter body length on Kharad.
@Cuthalion: why not try finding a favourite armour set on Skyrim, or any similar game, and try and render it down to the key details in OotS style.Last edited by spruce56; 2013-02-28 at 06:38 PM.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
I decided to make something random, 'cause it's what everyone else is doing. I like how it turned out, though I might edit it to make it less obviously duplicated shoewise.
I like it, though Kailey is very, very, distractingly spiky. I like her opponent's shoes, though. Good lacing.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
How does my gnewest Gnome look? She's a bard this time.
@Kymme, That Runegiant's sword is awesome o.o
@asdlove, I like the dueling. Are they up to their own witty banter?
@Cuthalion, Are you just making avatars you feel embody the alignments then? I like them.Last edited by Gnomish Wanderer; 2013-03-02 at 02:40 AM. Reason: Tried to unclutter it a bit and add more detail, Gnome Bard Part 2

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
I like her. Your violin is certainly better the the one I did a while ago.
I also like the color scheme. The blue of the outfit sets off well with the green hair.
Yes, yes they are bantering, being that, though one is evil and the other is good, they get along really well.Last edited by asdflove; 2013-03-15 at 12:57 PM.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase V
AddZable: The ears are necessary to make the goblin recognizable, but its right ear is too thick in outlines.
Also, I'm flattered to think that I'm at least one person's favourite stickatarist on these boards. I actually have very limited artistic skills.
Kymme: The two female warriors are looking good. I noticed the fleshier legs on the second one. Could it have been inspired by my avatar body types profile? The rune giant looks quite fearsome, and the blade is excellent.
One thing I'll note, however, is that the blonde female warrior's head is slightly skewed off-centre from her body. It needs to be shifted to the left.
Gnomish: I am liking this Gnomish character class series, a lot of creative costume ideas are taking shape. It took a second look at the bard to realize that her violin's bow is also her sword. Though, I imagine a -1 penalty to perform checks seems sensible, on account of the extra weight and sharpness.
spruce56: I third or fourth the preference for your particular variation on OotS style. I actually thought that Nuth was a male at first glance in your first set of images, which must be intentional.
Darklord Bright: also, I think the sword and the sawn-off look good.
asdflove: I like how the church of Neden reminds me of the Sapphire Guard, with the complementary color scheme to match. I have only read a few strips of Alignment Shift, but I suspect it's Tiff whose ideology will be turned on its head.
Cuthalion: I like your new avatar, has a very everyman feel to it. Is he an adventuring commoner? If he was about half as tall he wouldn't look that out of place in a hobbit hole.
The abdomen armour of Chaotic Evil is a bit busy. I would try to correct that by lightening the colour of those lines.

I posted a sketch of this character before, but this is the first fully usable avatar of her. If it isn't obvious, she has a sort of bee theme going on.
Spoiler
She also uses a trusty Calabrona hoverbike to get around, like so:
