That sounds wonderful, actually. I think I'll move to somewhere where it snows most of the year after I finish school, like Canada or Colorado. I've got nothing against warm weather, but snow is just too nice to miss out on every other year.

Re: Kneenibble's Knack for Knightly Knickers: a Knell for Random Banter #184
Hey, I know that feeling. Or at least I think I do. Hmm, I'm pretty sure it must be at least somewhere in my memory. Perhaps in the latest core dump...
Also, *bearhugs*
Because I know we all need hugs when feel down or out of the loop.
ION:
Speaking of loops, C is doing it's best to bring me down on my knees. Sort of like a swan song, seeing how we're done with it in less than a weeks time now, and by "song", I mean a bloody mess of stealthy bugs and data corruptions (hmm, I suppose calling it C's Ardennes Offensive serves to emphasise the bloodiness of it).
It's not like we're going to fail or anything, but it's tiresome to spend late evenings staring stupidly at the debugger trying to figure out how things manage to get so wrong. Especially since all the individual parts seem to be working correctly on their own, but I suppose that's just the appearance being deceptive.

Also, election day was surprisingly busy and hectic for work.

Re: Kneenibble's Knack for Knightly Knickers: a Knell for Random Banter #184
Dancing Lady Orchid. I see it -- upraised arms, and a wide spread-out gown; it reminds me of the animation for the Russian Dance from Disney's Fantasia.
Buttered Popcorn Orchid. There is a delicious poetic value in the phrase. I shall put this in my pocket of things to use in a poem one day.
Would sleet be an adequate term for these frozen smallnails? Just to help me imagine it. Last night we had sleet, which fluctuated between fat gobs of slush and tiny ice needles that stung my eyelids as I jogged. It left a fleece in the end, though, which alas has been washed away by softer rains today.
I'd say I channeled the spirit of an ancestor, but I'm not sure I even have any English blood in my veins. That said, I've been studying English since second grade, so I suppose my skill should be at least somewhat justified. That, and I feed on words like others feed on good food, nurturing my eloquence like others nurture their subcutaneous shieldings. Might explain why I get so cold at times...
Lucky you. I blame the Gulf Stream, you know, in general. That said, I love our climate in general as well, so I shouldn't be so hard on the former just because of a few weeks' downtime...
Lucky? More like lacky! I wish I had snow over my ankles. Many of my peers may not, but I do. I wish I had pavements to shovel, buried schoolways to trudge through, bitter cold burning my cheeks and having to pad myself to a level that makes soldiers envious. Screw the trains, when it's white, that's when I'm alive.
I complain a lot about my city, but it's the people not the environment. I love the winters.
Double-blind clinical studies have consistently shown budgie hugs to have tonic properties for a dissipated brain. Here you are.

Re: Kneenibble's Knack for Knightly Knickers: a Knell for Random Banter #184
Well, there's no rain or slush intermixed, so I don't know if sleet is a fitting term, but you nailed it with the tiny ice needles. The point is that they're tiny and stingy and usually come together with a strong headwind. Like being bombarded with small nails, essentially, or to use the Swedish word: "nubb".
Well, I think my peers considered me the best speaker in the class in grade 10-12. I think my fantastic English teacher during the same time considered me one of the best he'd ever heard, which still flatters me. All my Swedish teachers through the years have equally complimented and criticised me for my thorough attention to detail, which I admit sometimes can take over a bit.
In later years, I've learned to restrain myself, but every now and then, I let my words flow freely, shining as a bright burst of creativity as I distill my true mindset into a single, highly immersive environmental description. It's a joyful occupation, even when my words are those of bitterness and disappointment, and my knowledge of how much you love it just drives me even further.
Yes. Yes, I think I would. My eyes sparkle at your mere words, my emotions cast themselves into the situation and I can feel the winter's nightly chill bite my cheeks, making them blush like the most amorous of roses. Standing knee deep in the untarnished snow, I overlook the moonlit landscape, watch winter's white blanket gently caress the slumbering world. Muffled lights seep through snow-framed windows, dotting the landscape like a field of fallen stars. Time and space lose meaning, wrap themselves together like a love-struck couple on a windswept river bridge, and the whole universe is shrunk into a singular moment of absolute presence. Nothing exists but me, and so it lasts until the eternity once again turns to day.Last edited by Teddy; 2012-11-06 at 06:41 PM.

Do not hustle but for my sake, tranquility only comes to the patient soul and my warm bed beckons me home. Even though I desire little more than to hear your words, no doubt will they taste no less sweet with an awake and alacritous mind. And as such, I will leave you all to become one with the night.
