Re: League of Legends LX: A Song of Loss and Ire - Dance at Dragon
So it turns out the easiest way to win Doom Bots is with 4 waveclear champions and a strong splitpusher, surprising no one.

Re: League of Legends LX: A Song of Loss and Ire - Dance at Dragon
Honestly, if you actually try in a premade with strong players, it takes no effort. A good player can 1v1 and 2v2 the bots fairly effortlessly and you can snowball the lanes as hard as ever, and bots still can't deal with split focus and they're very inefficient about breaching the base after the first inhib goes down (and even that can be held back by a single champion). Without premade though life can get a lot harder.

New Lucian thoughts:
Laning is a bitch, if Thresh hadn't walked into my auto range every five seconds I would have lost that lane.
Starting with 72 AD instead of 70 helps a ton with last hitting.
Late game is hilarious. E-auto-Q-auto-E-auto-W-auto-E-auto-Q-auto, dancing just outside of range... Tango Lucian, anyone?ze/zir | she/her

Re: League of Legends LX: A Song of Loss and Ire - Dance at Dragon
I should draw that. Not quite sure what the guns would be.
Speaking of drawing things, I've been toying with the idea of drawing Pool Party Lissandra for a while now. Basically she's going to be a sand-gliding sand-woman with a sand castle on her head. Little flags on the castle will be raised whenever her passive is up, and in place of those ice shards that flow around her, it'll be little sand towers with flags.
What should her background have in it though?I've started streaming again.

Re: League of Legends LX: A Song of Loss and Ire - Dance at Dragon
2 new Debonair skins! Vi and Ezreal join Jayce in the 007 look.
Also some (32 looks like) of the skins are going to be getting splash updates.
I don't care for the Vi skin. Ez isn't bad though.Last edited by Antonok; 2014-07-17 at 05:58 PM.

Amumu with Shyvana's flame trail and Swain ult just kind of takes a dump on any melee champion.

Zyra's SEEDS cry. Not just the plants, THE SEEDS. That she throws two of next to your champ once every 10 seconds. For free.

Re: League of Legends LX: A Song of Loss and Ire - Dance at Dragon
Given how much PBAoE DOOM there is, I feel like any melee champion in general is a mistake (unless it's backdoor Yisus). My most success so far is with Kennen (I tried out all of the ninja champions - to bring balance to the DOOM, of course. Ionians only DOOM week incoming.).

A few Elegy games, whenever they finish. We really should work on coordination, especially with our team-centric picks that second game.

Re: League of Legends LX: A Song of Loss and Ire - Dance at Dragon
Rengar does fine as long as he can score a kill or two by level 4. KhaZix I expect would do similarly fine as long as he can get the jump on a bot.

She is the worst. Unless you're on Shyvana with all MR including a Bveil. Then, not so much.
I had very good success vs. Ezreal. I also suspect that Ziggs destroys the doombots completely. Really anything where you can do stuff to them outside their wombo combo range.

Re: League of Legends LX: A Song of Loss and Ire - Dance at Dragon
They hit the base damage, but they also upped the AP ratio on his ult. Support Professor Lasersquid gets an extra CC to play with, Mid Vel'Koz gets more damage. I'd say it's a buff to both play styles, though the fact that he's actually more threatening with items now will increase the incentive to dive him - which may make his lack of escapes all the more awkward to deal with as midlaner.

I'm confused as to why Doom Zyra doesn't have Cataclysm of Plants. Her ult should create angry murder plants in a ring around it.

Re: League of Legends LX: A Song of Loss and Ire - Dance at Dragon
There's some melee that works. I've had good experiences with Olaf & Alistar. Mundo I couldn't make work; the game wouldn't last long enough for me to build the items I need to survive the Bot Burst. J4 is also fine from what I see though, and I can only imagine Jaximus Maximus and Irelia should also be pretty well off. And the other hypertank supports, Leona and Braum, are probably also okay.
I mean, his AP scaling is so ridiculously bad he's kinda already locked. Just comparing Fiddlesticks ult to his eyelaser, they have similar base damage, but Fiddle has like thrice the AP ratio. Actually, Fiddle ult also scales many times better by ranks (Vel: 200/s -> 280/s -> 360/s; Fid: 125/s -> 225/s -> 325/s). So Vel'Koz just falls off damage-wise; there's absolutely nothing he can do to scale his damage in a reasonable manner. Magic penetration is the best and it only does so much since the AP on magic penetration items is only marginally useful and his true damage remains unaffected. Even his CDR scaling is poor since his ult is his primary source of damage and it has a prohibitive cooldown so CDR does nothing for it.Last edited by Eldariel; 2014-07-18 at 05:11 AM.

Mechanics help - AD characters...
Greetings experienced LOL players... Relative newby here... and i need some teachings / advice, please.
Since Kha'zix is free at the moment, i figured i would try to learn how to play him. His Xenomorph-come-Tyranid aesthetic appeals to me greatly :)
I gotta admit, though, i am kinda confused... I always check a few guides before picking up a champ, just to get a feel for how they work... And i have come to realise... my limited champion selection so far may have blinded me to some of the more important mechanics of LOL. You see... I have been mainly playing on Fiora during my journey to 30, so i was surprised when pretty much none of the guides on Kha'zix recommended buying attack speed items along side the Hydra they all recommend...
I would have thought that all melee based characters benefitted greatly from stacking lifesteal + attack speed.
Why would this not be the case?
What is it about Kha'zix's mechanics that do not require +attack speed? Especially since most guides reccomend a black cleaver, which has to hit 5 times before its full debuff is in effect.
And, more importantly... is this a concept that relates to other champions based on AD that I need to understand?
What is it about melee mechanics that determine the best items for a given champ?
cheers for any insight you can offer.Last edited by SanguisAevum; 2014-07-18 at 09:05 AM.

Re: Mechanics help - AD characters...
Okay. Quite literally, Fiora is a duelist/fighter, and Khazix is an assassin.
Imagine how a duelist hasc to do many lightning swift strong attacks, while an assassin only needs a single bullet to the brain or knife to the back.
Metaphor aside - Khazix's abilities are cooldown gated and they scale really well with Attack Damage. He does not autoattack as much, so he does not need the attack speed. He doesn't really have mighty autoattacks steroids or incentive to bolster his autoattacking power. He wants his single punch to deliver Exterminatus and then wait to recharge it again.
Fiora, meanwhile, wants to stay in the fight for long and keep on delivering blows as much as possible.
Champs more like Khazix: Rengar, Talon, Zed.
Champs more like Fiora: Sion, Master Yaoi.
Get it?
