Agreed- microwaves are for cooking jobs that require them (or for leftovers), anything else can be done more simply using other equipment...

I don't think anyone argued it wasn't valid or wouldn't work, merely that there are easier methods. (In the same way that emptying your bathtub with a teaspoon is a perfectly *valid* way to do it, it's just much easier to pull the plug out ).

I broke 150 pounds! This has been something I've wanted for the last couple years!
I still feel scrawny, but I know there's some weight to me now!

    Yes, I'm celebrating gaining weight.

Well, see, microwaveing after the toaster, to me atleast, is much easier then using a griddle to grill my grilled cheese, is what I mean.

Well, the idea is that the toaster oven toasts the toast, and then the microwave softens it up (while melting the cheese) and, due to SCIENCE, the bread is now in the state it would be if you grilled it. At least in my experience.

But, you wouldn't get that wonderful golden-brown colour/flavor or the crispy outside... And where does the butter come in, here?

I may have to try this at some time, to see exactly how big of a difference there is.

What, by pushing the lever down and waiting for the toast to come out? You can't get golden-brown using a toaster... you can get brown, but if you don't cook it with butter, it won't be golden-brown. The taste would be significantly different, I think, because you won't have fried the butter.

Well, of course! Forgive me; I try not to assume everyone understands the culinary importance of butter.

I use braces (also known as "curly brackets") to indicate sarcasm. If there are none present, I probably believe what I am saying; should it turn out to be inaccurate trivia, please tell me rather than trying to play along with an apparent joke I don't know I'm making.

Hey, give me a hand here; I'm pretty sure he's got all of Amidus's cash.
Damn, son! Stand up, you sissy!
I think you're using two different definitions of the word "toaster". I think Drexel is talking about one of these:

Naw, I mean the former. The latter is really good too though! We used to have one, forget where it went.

Although I such clarify, MY toaster doesn't look like that brave little appliance. It looks much more high tech. Has all these knobs and stuff on it, to ensure for perfect toasting.

That's no toaster, that's a sandwich press! Speaking of which, I need to dust mine off and start making pizza paninis again.

There's conveyor toasters though, but it's senselessly messy to put butter on the bread before toasting it with most of the models I'm familiar with.

Anyway, while we're on the subject of toast, the best toast is skillet toast with a mixture of butter and olive oil and creole seasoning.
