The Order of the Avatar Slayer [#7 up]
This is an OotS style comic series that I came up with a while back, but only recently finally have produced enough to publicize. (and it took forever! )
That said, it's based off of a fanfiction, which is based off of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
the prologue is a little lengthy, but the rest is all simple stuff that is easy to read.
the rant complete, here it is.
DISCLAIMER: they're a bit on the wide side. (1120x452), so be warned those with low screen rez, or better yet, make it bigger. bigger is always better.
that aside... ye.

002. Prologue 2
003. Chapter 1-01

Re: The Order of the Avatar Slayer [#4 up]
Didn't you have more finished than that? For instance, those I just saw earlier tonight?
Actually, you're probably either updating right now as I type this, or don't know that it's been cleared yet...
Oh well, carry on.
There we go.Last edited by V'icternus; 2009-09-21 at 11:52 AM.

Re: The Order of the Avatar Slayer [#5 up]
Is it smart to make your pages that wide? I'm sure there's a more effecient way to space your panels.
The comic's wider than my screen as it is now.

Re: The Order of the Avatar Slayer [#5 up]
I suppose I could reformat it.
it depends on your screen resolution. all of the computers I've been on recently have handled them well.
I guess I'll put a disclaimer for now though, that they are wide and those with low screen resolution shouldchange their freaking resolutionbe warned."The Mormons were right."

Re: The Order of the Avatar Slayer [#6 up]
That's the TV Shows fault. I always got that vibe from the first few seconds, too...
And then, at the endSpoilerAang performs what can be best related to as "Spiritbending", which is close enough to "Heart" to cinch it for me. Aang, of course, being Captain Planet doesn't help...

Well, I already know what happens next, so I don't get the suspense, but I know it will be awesome.

Re: The Order of the Avatar Slayer [#7 up]
bingo.
for the record though, Feng (that dude she's fighting) actually mentions Zuko when he burns her...
however, seeing as this is set almost 1300 years after the series, it's not like a scar-faced firebender is going to meet a scar-faced firebender. Zuko's long since 6 feet under.
and don't worry. even if you DO think Kimiko is a Mary Sue for whatever reason , (your opinions might change later in the series, they might not) she's not the main character.
in fact, she's only one of about 44.
oh, and question...
for those of you having trouble seeing the letters... how hard is it to read? is it almost illegible? I mean, I can see them perfectly clearly, and so I'm unable to relate here.Last edited by KataraAltinaII; 2009-10-02 at 01:03 AM.

Re: The Order of the Avatar Slayer [#7 up]
We can read it, but it doesn't flow together as easily as, say, the writing on this forum. Sometimes the words run together a little too closely, (Perhaps double spacing could help?) and with the font this is not easy to recognise unless you actually pay attention to what you're reading instead of just naturally absorbing it (as most people here can do by now, having read 680+ of The Giant's Comics). It can just sometimes feel a bit unnatural.
So we can see the letters and read the words, but it sometimes takes thought, which isn't normally the case for reading unless something really dramatic or unexpected happened and you want to make sure you read it right... (Which was, for instance, why I had to re-read three paragraphs of the Half-Blood Prince over and over again, because it was pulled off so well.)
So, yeah, I think double spacing might help. I hope that cleared up the text issue.

Re: The Order of the Avatar Slayer [#7 up]
alright, so after messing with a few things, and realizing that I'm freakishly more busy than I used to be, I came to a stunning (not really) conclusion.
Comic #8 is going to have the same font as the first 7, but #9 will have something different and hopefully more readable. The reasoning for this is because I had already gotten parts of it done, and going back to try and eit an already done panel is like trying to cancel a credit card order at Sonic--it's possible, but it's a fire-breathing pain in the crack.
I can't give a due date for when it will be up, but thanks everyone who has read it so far. sorry about the wait, and I'll update this when necessary."The Mormons were right."

Re: The Order of the Avatar Slayer [#7 up]
Flash, then I save it to paint.
and the way my setup was, I never saved a panel of my comics in Flash, as it took up way too much space. so instead I just copied it to paint, saved it there, deleted it from Flash, and made the next panel."The Mormons were right."
