Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
An elf with a view through his chest! Go team dwagon.
hehe stack one... this is good stuff. All dead, no damage done. I guess these three dwagons will waste stack upon stack of these guys.
We know one thing now, Vinny and Ansom (? riding gear?) are there for the battle, though not charging the enemy.
EDIT: is that poop on top of one of the elves?Last edited by teratorn; 2007-06-23 at 09:06 PM.

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
Is it possible that there is some special magic or defensive bonus that Parson knows about that caused all those Woodsy Elves to miss? It doesn't even look like they did any damage at all.

Yay, first page!
I love Ansom as a danger-biker. Reminds me of a Simpsons chapter. And I seriously hope he ends up as badly as his television counterpart.

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
It's Evil Knievel on a Star Wars Speeder Bike-style magic transportation vehicle... Still cool.
And is it tasteless to say: "This elf lost his chest-ity...?" SCNR...
Go, dwagons! They will do indeed the full circle, before the other side even knows what the heck is going on. And his Toolship will get his wins and slaughter...

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
can you say first round ... Repulsed!... a win for Parson even when he didnt do anything but sound tactics. It shows that even the 3 dwags by themselves are more than a match to the wood elves. Nice bit of stat busting by Parson. Nice pile of poo there from one of them presumably the yellow and the bubble gum for the clean up on the last two remain elves.
That could be why with the special attacks this is the weaker set of 3 remaining drags that they dont appear to have a mass kill attack like the red and green.Last edited by kreszantas; 2007-06-23 at 09:17 PM.

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
Pink dragon makes bubbles... eventually, asphixiation will do that elf in. Pink dragon also makes pink rope, it seems.
But I am curious as to if ANY damage was done to the dwagons... Given that the makers know our level of obsession, I'm gonna say... no. They would have shown an arrow in a dwagon a la the red dwagon "archers get their hitsies".

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
Three warlords on three dragons is enough to kill 5 or 6 stacks, according to Vinnie. Dunno how three dragons without three warlords will do, but still gotta feel sorry for the sacrificial units Ansom will be throwing at those drags.
This was a great merge of real life and a strategy video game. In a strategy video game, you don't give a crap that ALL of the first units you're sending in will generally die. But the real life ramifications of a complete wipe out are gruesome. And this strip here has both!
Also, similar to a strategy video game, the units don't seem to mind that you're sending them to their deaths (note that the remaining wood elves charge into battle even after seeing the hole through their comrades' chest)Last edited by TiamatRoar; 2007-06-23 at 09:19 PM.

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
LOL!
It's only one stack, folks. :D
Ansom has brough a BUNCH more to the party.
Although, I have to wonder at the ease of this fight, the Elves didn't seem to do...ANYTHING. Could Lord Hamster have some bonuses on that stack somehow?
Maybe there's three warlords in that stack?
Hmmmmm.......
Oh, and MAN, the dwagons are so CUTE, and yet so MEAN. Squeee! :DRoy Greenhilt: All leaders should aspire to his greatness!

The trees have eyes.
I am not at all disturbed by this turn of events.Alignments are objective. Right and wrong are not.

Evil: Will seek personal benefit even if it causes harm to others.

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
Clearly the archers are not hitting their mark in all that cover. The dwagons might even survive the attack if Prince Ansom and Vinny Doombats ride on through to the center of dwagenburg, though the rules are not clear on whether or not you can withdraw from one hex while attacking into another.
Oh, and while we are correcting speling, it's Evel Knievel.Illimir orc monk avatar by yours, truly. He seems to be looking for his cigarettes.

Just noticed that Ansom has living trees on his side. Those are probably Forest Gumps, if I had to guess.
And Dwagons sure know brutal ways of killing their enemies. O_oLast edited by TiamatRoar; 2007-06-23 at 09:24 PM.

The wood force isn't a big deal (they're assaulting a mountain city, not a forest city) but the siege sure is.

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
Is Ansom just plain stupid(unlikely), or did he send in the first stack to get wiped out while doing no damage for a reason that we don't have enough information to understand? Maybe Parson/Hamster took Sizemore's words to heart and asked Wanda to whip up some luckamancy to go with his Stupid Meal toy?

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
Could it be Parson is using some Mathomancy/Luckomancy to help his dragons?
Hole-in-chest elf is because of yellow dragon's tail.
I'm guessing Ansom is on his magic carpet? It looks pretty flat.
It does look like an elf got buried under a pile of crap... Too bad he can't make crap golems... ;)
The trees look like they're alive in frame 2, but I'm not so sure they're Ansom's...Last edited by Astyanax; 2007-06-23 at 09:39 PM.

Huh. Well so much for that.
Ansom dressed in biker gear riding a magic carpet is hilarious though.

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
Maybe Ansom's just unlucky. I know of several strategy games where I've had to sacrifice several units just to do one hit point of damage to a more powerful unit, and sometimes I considered myself LUCKY when that happened. It's sorta like sending lots of hobgoblins after the Order of the Stick knowing most of them will die but eventually you'll have rolled enough natural twenties to kill the Order.
...then again, Parson's Klog never mentioned an AR stat.Last edited by TiamatRoar; 2007-06-23 at 09:32 PM.

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
Doh! Sorry, psychic powers must be on the fritz again... *looks* Two half-sphere things just to the left of the pile? Hmm. Erf equivalent of the X ton weight, mebbe? Dunno. But I blame the purple dwagon. It has a mean streak (see also wishbone assault).
EDIT
...See Burrito's post, 3 below this one. It, I am certain, explains the coils. Hint: yellow, not purple.

While I'm mangling this post... anybody else see sinister overtones to the orange chirps and blue tweets? Or they just NEVER seen before birdies hanging time around dwagons near a recent (pro'bly noisy) battle?Last edited by DCR; 2007-06-23 at 09:56 PM.

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
Perhaps archery is just less effective in heavy trees than on the terrain (road, plain, or whetever the boop the tan hexes are) where the column is. Even "forest-capable" units don't shoot all that well -- they're just the only ones that can shoot at flyers at all.

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
Actually, it is a magic Carpet, just rolled up so he can ride it like a mororcycle instead of sitting on it like Alladin.
Evel Knievel was a nice look for Ansom, kinda fits his persona. Although the panel with Anson and Vinny reminded me more of Easy Rider. Ansom could have been dressed as Captain America and Vinny could have been Billy.
I've decided all Fantasy based Dragons need a "Crap of Opportunity" Attack like the yellow Dwagons. Maybe it's a spell like ability....?

Re: Erfworld 63, Page 57
Wow, just Wow. Dwagons are major baddass.
SpoilerEveryone on the forums has been assuming that Parson has put his weakest dwagons on the back square, what if instead he put his 3 best dwagons there. Even with fewer resources it is still possible to win a war of attrition, so long as you inflict enough casualties. If he put his 3 strongest B dwagons, they could conceivably be a powerful enough force to kill all of Ansom's woods units, for little, or no damage. Based on the total annihilation of the first stack, for no losses and possibly no hits, I think this is possible. If it is, Ansom might want to send in larger stacks, even though stack bonuses stop at 8, just so some forces will last long enough to do some damage. Also, It may mean more attacks as well.
