MLP: Friendship Is Magic is a reboot of the MLP franchise by Powerpuff Girls artist Lauren Faust, currently viewed by (almost) the entire Internet, not only the intended audience. Here is a place where we discuss the joy of friendship.

It's a clever show. It has excellent writing, character dynamics, humor, animation, and generally treats kids seriously rather than condescending to them. It has every right to be a 20 minute corporate committee designed infomercial, but it's not.

Pixar technically makes shows for little boys, and produce some of the best animation in the world.

> Okay, fine. I'll give it a try. Where do I start?

No Brony could ask for more. I recommend watching the episodes in order. They're all up on Youtube. Unusually, Hasbro seems fine with having the entire series up in public because they've made no move to bring down any of the episodes. Search for "Friendship is Magic Episode 1" and you should find the series pretty easily... Or search for "Sharing is Magic" Google Doc. That is all.

Whoa, calm down there. The show is light hearted, optimistic fun but it's not for everyone. It's good fun, the community is good fun, and everyone can do with a reminder that friendship is magic but if it doesn't gel for you we'll love and tolerate you anyway. Plus, you might hit the wrong episode. Ask first?

All in good fun! If it's not your cup of tea, skim it, but this show has triggered a great creative outpouring from the Internet. Pony themed fan-art is abundant and often excellent. See below for some examples.

> Derpy Hooves/Doctor Whoof

Two minor background characters who were adopted as emblems of 4chan. Derpy Hooves is so named due to an animation error in the first episode that had her eyes facing in different directions; 4chan has assigned her the role of Ponyville's mailpony, and her only line so far has been "Muffins". The show's animators are aware of Derpy's popularity and she's shown up a few times recently with her eyes obviously derped. Currently made canon in Feeling Pinkie Keen and in Faust's picture showcased below, Derpy was deemed important enough to appear in storyboards for Season II.

Dr. Whoof is a pony with an hourglass cutie mark; he and his kin save time and space very quietly off camera.

You've described the part of the campaign story that you've already written quite well (lair of gremlins under a lake, in danger of flooding, non-gremlin leader trying to attack hamlet to get a new lair). You've also described what kind of game you want to run and to what audience. You also described the specific problem you have (how you'd enable the players to flood the lair). So what you asked has all the marks of a Good Question to me, and I'm glad you posted it. I'm not good in writing these kinds of stories, so I can't give an answer. I hope someone else in the Ponythread will chime in with a good answer for you. However,

I would humbly suggest that you cross-post your question to another forum: Role-playing Games Stack Exchange. This question is on-topic there, and I believe the visitors of the site are well-equipped to give good answers. You would have to organize the question a bit, by taking some of the text of your few posts here to collect all the details, and add some headings to make it more readable. I suggest that you fix the typos in the test before posting: although if you don't, someone else will edit your question to fix them, but until that time, some people might be turned away from the question if they see the typos before they see the content. Also sorry to Starfire and Nightwing shippers and pretty late, but it's officially canon in pre-New 52 now. Don't worry there's still Kingdom Come universe where Nightwing and Starfire had a daughter.

Not really, I'm just busy. There's still lots of pony stuff, like old episodes, and Discord, and the Crusaders, and re-interpreting all the old episodes after what we've learnt from S5, and more Discord. I should certainly think about some of these and discuss them, later, when I get a bit less busy. Then there's lots of speculation about the future, which includes a new season (apparently starting in 2016-05), a fourth Equestria Games movie called Legends of the Everfree, a feature movie (which means they play it in cinemas first rather than immediately in the TV), and possibly something called Guardians of Harmony. Plus there's some toys we can bring up, like the Kinder Surprise egg minis, or that series of plushies sold in the shops that are available in two different sizes, one of them about a foot high, and that contains five of the Mane Six, but the missing one is not Applejack this time, but Rarity.

Well, at least we have Inhumans in Space for once...in a MCU ripoff show. At least have a scene of bashing Gladiator teeth in after him murdering tons of species for lulz. I am starting to agree with Aorts for once on Shi'ar being the most vile species in Marvel Universe after they murder PoWs (major warcrime) with Gladiator deliberately neglecting their welfare. Not to mention exterminating Jean Gray's family and serving a crazy emperor without question. So I have not known Lilandra since X-Men cartoon who is pretty much the "good" guy, but has she done stupid/evil yet before Vulcan polished her off?.
Need fix on Marvel Cosmos in both comics and series, not Bendis' one.

Today was a bit busier than usual. Had to run out and grab a lunch order for some managers because their meetings went a bit long. Earned a brownie point for it. Then I filled three Banker's Boxes full of old records for storage. Made Accounting happy with that. Now just winding down with sorting the outgoing mail and closing some issue tickets that I completed.

Discounting all non-bolded votes:

Votes for XCOM would be Topaz and SlyGuyMcFly.

Votes for Pancake would be Rater and One Tin Soldier.

If you include bolded votes towards a theme if they were an alternate title, Balmas would be added for pancake. If you included non-bolded votes advocating a general theme, you'd add zimmerwald's vote for pancake, and you and I for XCOM. Which would bring it back up to a tie, though I strongly dislike the resistance is magic title and had voted against it for a reason.

XCOM votes were better formatted, but did not hold the majority.

I have a feeling that I'm going to be restarting my game fairly often in this playthrough. Lowered the difficulty, but went on ironman mode to prevent me from save scumming if a pony I like dies.

Two missions in, and I've already lost one. It was on a "protect the transmitter" mission, in an urban zone.

Rookie Zecora was in high cover when an advent officer took a shot at her. It missed, but set the building around her on fire, such that she couldn't move without catching alight. She hunkered down, hoping it would pass, but the flames closed in and got her. Unfortunately, we had no more medpacks at that point and she didn't make it out.

Squaddie Applejack (ranger) and Braeburn (Grenadier) avenged her by blasting the heck out of the remaining troops. But AJ got hit and will be out of action for a while.

Oof, this is gonna be tough on the old heart.

People were confused when the anime was called "XYZ", but there was never a Z. I may play the new one if it's for 3DS (and not NEW 3DS, since I don't plan on getting one), but the only "new" game I've played is Omega Ruby.

Ben has watch that lets him turn into fully sentient/sapient life forms. Most life forms have some kind of power. Gwen is Ben's first cousin. She has energy controll powers and magic, which is from a combination of their Grandmother, Verdona, being an energy being that's literally made of magic and from Qwen steeling a spellbook from a witch.

Kevin... Kevin is a bit dificult to explain.

He's what's called an Osmosian. It'd take too long to explain exactly what that means, but basically his power is he can absorb almost anything-energy, but also physical proepties. Osmosian DNA is also unstable, so absorbing energy from a living thing or from certain types of device results in them mutating, which will eventually wear off. Kevin in particular also has shapeshifting abilities, though he doesn't use them much until like, season three of Alien Force.

However, for most of the franchise, if Kevin absorbs energy, he goes insane. When we first see him, he's basically a sociopath becuase he's been absorbing a lot of electricity, and absorbing alien super powers has on two occasions caused him to be utterly unable to think straight due to fluctuating emotions.

Absorbing inert matter is fine.

Also he went from Ben's Arch Nemesis to Ben's best friend and Gwen's boyfriend. Make of that what you will.
