I don't remember about the Cliffport cop, but I remember there were definitely a bunch of people complaining that it "cheapened" the character, and why did the Giant have to sexualise her like this or something. Which is ridiculous because Haley has always been (among other things) a sexual character anyways. A few people said they would stop reading and I remember the Giant making a comment along the lines of "Good, I don't want people like you reading my comic".

When I checked, it seemed like the complaint was that the Giant was getting into feminist territory, revealing a character to be gay, and revealing a character to be biracial, all in one page. Apparently this is Social Justice Warrior stuff and a sign that the comic could go to the territory of "Kill all cishet males! Whites are evil!" stuff. Also, apparently Tumblr is evil.

Of course, it's totally mistaken. We're dirty lazy hippies trying to get to kill all men in a ritual to gain access to the Snarl. Hel's bottocks, these heroes are terrible at figuring out villainous plans.

You know, I've seen that sentiment so much that I'm beginning to suspect that hell must be have a very large LGBTAI+ community. Probably a lot easier to date there too, considering it's apparently filled with everybody who aren't straight, cis and vanilla. XD

I have to say it's pretty ridiculous that a half-orc or half-elf character is perfectly fine and nothing worth commenting on, but if a character's parents were both human with different skin tones, OMG, the Giant must be shoving his social justice agenda in our faces!
