Out of interest, does anyone know of/host a good Tekkit server?

I've been watching the Yogscast Lalna Tekkit videos, and I kinda want to do some multiplayer Tekkit.

So, I spent a few hours today modding out my Minecraft. I got GLSL Shaders working on Ultra at a reasonable framerate, and then made some modifications to my texture pack. Still working on the water at the moment.

Oh, I'm still waiting to know where I should put the collection box for the geode-monster-egg-thing that I'm going to make for RP.

Or should the stuff just be spawned? It is quite a lot of stuff to donate...

open the minecraft.jar with winrar or similar program.
Open the mod zip file with the same program.
Copy the mod files into the minecraft.jar
DELETE META INFO folder in minecraft.jar
Close and play

Most mods are the same unless they have an auto installer. But still read the directions provided with the mod. Also note that some mods will prevent you from playing multiplayer unless the server has been modded as well. I know Texture packs and HD texture support mods work fine in SMP

Ok, so let me ask people who can set up portals: Does RPworld have a functioning portal? Because I'm also willing to work out some item-transfer system involving me spawning stuff on the other side... Though I could spawn some things to make the work go faster.

Also, with the new system, I suppose people can't bring in their own items, which means I'll think of a new system for some character-defining starter equipment...Or we could just let new players buy and scrounge.

Yeah, iron or gold is likely going to be the new currency...I have utterly ridiculous amounts of wool atm(def a good thing, since I use it as a building material). That said, if you want to dump wool now, the prices that are up are all still wool, so that's still legit.

I was the one who started the initial store, using wool as a currency, TMK used iron...and there was another, smaller iron-based shop elsewhere in Obsidian Junction.

Found out that XP wasn't working in WorldGroups because in addition to using setTotalExp, you also have to setLevel and setExp. After a bit of calculus, I got a proper equation working for it.

Anyhoo, after spending an hour fixing rounding errors (It was rounding, I didn't want it to, nor did I realize at first), I've rolled out the fixed version of WorldGroups.

Because RPworld SHOULD be a separate group. Terra and Release are basically the same as the old world, just not in the same world file.

Since I switched to 64 bit Java, my Minecraft won't connect.

Repeated reinstalling and switching back to 32 bit didn't help. I have yet to reinstall Mincecraft.
Anyone got an idea what might have gone wrong?
