Re: New OOTS Book: "Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales"
But you assured yourself a copy, this way, right? :) I'm the same, I'm leaving the US on Monday and not coming back until 2012. When I ordered I knew it would probably be a year before I could get it, but considering it's pre-orders only apparently, I wasn't going to let it pass up.

Re: New OOTS Book: "Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales"
I missed War and XPs when it came out so that's the only hole in my collection (I should say our collection my brother paid for half of them).
The rules of the game are only what the current participants agree they should be, remember this. The rulebook for whatever you play are only suggestions.
Currently playing as the Maya in GMR game #6.

Re: New OOTS Book: "Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales"
Well, not only do I not have a fixed address yet, but I'm unlikely to before it starts shipping and stops being preorders, and I really wanted to make sure I'd get a copy.
That's not the only reason, though. I'm also going back to the US in 2012, so I'm leaving all my books there, and it seemed silly to have it shipped to Europe only to bring in back into the US. This way I'll have more room in my suitcase for other stuff.
And it's not like it will go to waste. My boyfriend will get to read it right away :p

Well, you could ask around on the forum if somebody living near where you'll be staying has pre-ordered 'Dragon' and would be willing to lend it to you.
If you happen to be in Berlin, Germany, I might offer my copy (once I read it myself and only unter supervision, of course *g*).

I don't wanna sound annoying, but early May strikes me as first to tenth of May.
An update from the Giant/Oookoodook would be really appreciated.Al'tair avatar by Nevitan

Re: New OOTS Book: "Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales"
Hi guys, just wanted to post my experience with this order.
According to what Amy Pike, Shipping and Customer Service Manager, told me; the order would not be charged until the book was ready to be sent.
However last Thursday my credit card bill came, and Ookoodook purchase was in it. Since I have not received a shipping confirmation yet, I sent an email to them to check if this was an expected delay, or if something else had happened to my order (a previous order had been sent back and forth to the Airport, apparently Argentina is an unknown country to the guys in the Airport :P)
Anyway, I sent the email on May 6th, and still no response from them. I resent the email today, just a few minutes ago, to see if they send some sort of response, will update on any info they give me.
Cheers.Last edited by Zigg'rrauglurr; 2011-05-11 at 11:13 AM.

Dunno why Amy told you that--the Giant clearly said earlier in the thread that credit cards were charged at the time the order was made.

Credit cards are usually not charged until the book is ready to be sent from ookoodook. This book is a special case.

Re: New OOTS Book: "Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales"
If there was a delay, it would have been nice if GitP told the public about it on there news page and in there own fourms. Espesially since they took peoples money when they placed the order. Even if they just said "we are having a delay, we will let you know more asap." That would be telling us something. But not saying anything when people are asking about it is normal for most companies these days. This is my first order from GitP, why should I expect them to be any different?

Re: New OOTS Book: "Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales"
They said early May, it is still technically early May. If there is a delay that would make it late May-early June, then Rich would tell us.

Re: New OOTS Book: "Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales"
1. It was never said May second, ever. It said early May, of which it still is.
2. There has been no delay, there is no need to even consider posting an explanation until it does have a delay, and even then it's not necessary.

Re: New OOTS Book: "Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales"
Read my post again, and the news page. THERE WAS NEVER A MAY 2nd RELEASE DATE. YOU ARE WRONG. THERE HAS BEEN NO DELAY, AND WON'T BE A DELAY, FOR FOUR MORE DAYS.
They don't need to make a special point of mentioning a delay every time somebody makes up a release date.Last edited by SMEE; 2011-05-13 at 08:59 PM.

Re: New OOTS Book: "Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales"
That depends. Some people consider 1st-10th early, 11th-20th "mid," and 21st-31st late.

Re: New OOTS Book: "Snips, Snails, and Dragon Tales"
While I agree a "quick update" would be a pretty nice thing I'm also aware, as everyone who reads the comic, that giantitp.com simply isn't the place for "quick updates".
That said: I expect there will be an announcement should there be problems or delays. Until that happens, I assume there's no such thing and stuff moves as it should.
To ease things, and as I'm not the only one, I'm making up a release date: 20th July 3024. Should it ship earlier, be happy you get your book a millenium earlier than expected.

This was a pre-order. It's obviously different since the item hasn't been released yet. I've ordered stuff a year before they were released before. (And I prefer paying at the time. Otherwise the money just get charged without warning and I might not even have it into my account. I'd much rather pay at the time I make a purchase).Last edited by SMEE; 2011-05-13 at 09:03 PM.
