Band name
Hey! my friends and i have made a band, and we need a name. my idea is Tgd+I (tener ganas de + infinitive). any thoughts?
by the way, we play metal (system of a down, slipknot, etc.)
EDIT: tener ganas de infinitive, for those of you who do not speak spanish, means to feel like doing *blank*.Last edited by zoobob9; 2010-01-17 at 12:57 AM. Reason: no hablan espanol

Re: Band name
The famous humorist Dave Barry was fond of pointing out that the various situations and concepts he encountered in his columns would be good names for rock bands. There's a list of them here.
Personally, I don't think anything could possibly be more metal than Crab Shrapnel. How to Play Rogues Properly:

Re: Band name
I'd go for something that comes from my origins:
Tecuhtli Huehueteotl
Each yllable, it's like this:
Te-cuh-tli Hue-hue-te-o-tl
And phonetical so you know how to say each syllable.
(Te, as in tear [tear as in ripping], Cuh as in curse, Tli as in Tlingit, Hue as in were, Hue as in were, te as in tear [as in ripping], O as in oak, and tl as in Tlingit)
Means "Knight of Sacred Fire", in the original Nahuatl.Last edited by Crimmy : Tomorrow at 26:72 DM.

Re: Band name
Well, depends on what you're going for.
Reasonably Metal might work for some.
The (Adjective) (Noun)s is a nicely meta name.
And, for the major total dorks, Brek Bannin and The Substitutes.Remember how I was wishing for the peace of oblivion a minute ago?

Re: Band name
For metal? Hell's <plural noun>, Loud Obnoxious Noise, Extraplanar Bone Fist. Or some combination of the three.
I take this game with the seriousness it deserves.
Not all that much. It's a game.

Re: Band name
Did you know that we have our own forum metal thread? Its in its third iteration, and maybye they can hook you up with a name.
Personally, I'd take a look at the bands that influenced you, and name yourself after one of their album titles/song titles/lyrics. A great example of this is the band Mayhem, who named themselves after the song "Mayhem with mercy" by the band Celtic Frost, who were big influences on them.
Until people can link your sound with your name, the choice of name is going to be a big deal. After that, its much less important. I mean, by all rights "Metallica" is a really dumb name, but once you get into the music, it doesn't matter, right?Decoy Lockbox, you win the internet metal award. You are a metal god.

Re: Band name
I like Menagerie. I had a first album to go with it (something to do with animals), but in the meantime I'll just go with "Menagerie a' Trois".

Spastic Insemination was an old favorite of my high school epic poetry class. Anything with Spastic in it, really.
I no longer actively read the forums, and probably won't respond to any PMs. I'm fine with people using my homebrew in anything, including fan-compilations and wikis, as long as you credit me.
