I'm listening to a song the title of which is a pun on the name of a form of LSD. It's not about drugs. But I still can't help but be disturbed by how much I like the song.

That picture does not make children cry. It's just a a good costume. So, I'm very suspicious of my seeing the future of getting the chair that I just got. It seems very unlikely, but it happened anyway, and I had remembered it being going to happen earlier. But, things have gone slightly different before.

Re: The Throne of Thufir's Thoroughly Theoretical and Therapeutic Random Banter #116
I must express my extreme happiness outloud right now.
Walking home from work, I was stopped by this older gentleman in a rather nice car. He offers me a ride home, I accept. Asks me a couple questions on the way (what do I do for work, name, so on - basic conversation I thought). When he drops me off, he then offers one of his cards and asks if I would be interested in a modeling career.
I said I would think over it, of course.
Aside... *glee* amazing compliment of the day. I don't know if I can take such a job or not though...Avatar by Alarra

Re: The Throne of Thufir's Thoroughly Theoretical and Therapeutic Random Banter #116
I wouldn't do it without knowing exactly what it would entail, of course.
Yes, I got in some random guy's car. A guy who looked to be in his 70s, was not wearing a shady coat, while I was walking down the main road of this city... that, and one of the few major things I actually enjoy about this place (Salt Lake City) is that most people are legitimately nice when they are appearing to be so.Avatar by Alarra

I was going to tell you all about the song, but then it occurred to me that my assertion that the name is slang for a drug comes from a YouTube comment, which I probably shouldn't trust. So you'll have to suffer in ignorance.

Officially speaking, it doesn't stand for LSD, the title came from the subject of some drawing.

Re: The Throne of Thufir's Thoroughly Theoretical and Therapeutic Random Banter #116
Methinks Fred was referring to.... A. Silence by ???? or B. The Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel.
In other news... What's all y'all's favorite weather?
'round these parts I like a little liquid sunshine myself, sommat refreshing about seeing the sun all smiling and laughing so hard he's crying on ya.
I say this because I'm always disappointed when it gets all grey and looks like it will storm and then doesn't really rain at all... maybe a little bit of drizzling but nothing compared to what it makes you think is gonna happen. Argh and such.
This has happened the last two days. So I'm a tad annoyed by it. Hence my questioning to take my mind off of my current weather to fantasize about other weather types.

I too like it overcast, no rain. Maybe a light drizzle on the leaves of the trees, giving the world a hue of pale green.

Re: The Throne of Thufir's Thoroughly Theoretical and Therapeutic Random Banter #116
Are you suggesting Byron didn't really like the sound of his own voice?
As boy, I thought myself a clever fellow,
And wished that others held the same opinion.
They took it up when my years grew more mellow,
And other minds acknowledged my dominion.
Now my sere fancy falls into the yellow
Leaf, and imagination droops her pinion.
And the sad truth which hovers o'er my desk
Turns what was once romantic to burlesque."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Re: The Throne of Thufir's Thoroughly Theoretical and Therapeutic Random Banter #116
Hey, does anyone have claim - at all - on the new thread? As a more-often-than-not lurker round these parts I'm not really fussed, but I did think of a cool title the other day.
On Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - much like Puff the Magic Dragon, the idea that this song is about drugs is a common misconception. Pretty much any piece of creative work can be interpreted to be about some unethical if you try, but the fact is that you can have things of fantasy and beauty without narcotic substances.
