Re: Things you never noticed
When I first read this, and again when I read your post, I thought they meant the Craft DC of a bad, repeating joke (like a running gag), since the 2e joke was intentionally overplayed. I didn't even think that she was talking about gagging the old man.
Man, I remember when I first noticed those. They clearly reveal that the MitD is really Girard, the child of Haley's celestial mother and the original GWaH, who raised O'Chul."My doctor says that I have a malformed public-duty gland and a natural deficiency in moral fibre, and that I am therefore excused from saving Universes."

The sending spell sent by the elves is exactly twenty-five words, which is the limit.

I never noticed because I hadn't read SoD:

A handful of true friends, an infinite supply of sodas, a collection of bad movies, and a full supply of webcomics are all one really needs to be happy.

I'm not sure if anyone's brought this up or not but in strip #300 look at the hobgoblin in the background when Xykon and Redcloak are talking.

Yeah, it brings life to the scene having goblins pass by in the background.

Re: Things you never noticed
I just realised the double joke in the last panel of the latest (#718) strip; Death nows he will lose in the wet T-shirt contest but does not concede right away. Why? Obviously because he is a guy

Re: Things you never noticed
Heh, you are right! It can be read as either he is a guy and want to the see the female warriors soul in wet t-shirt, OR he is ALSO a woman and want to compete! Three jokes in one frame, thanks to Ambiguity. Good job, Rich!

Re: Things you never noticed
PanzerFox meant that the hobgoblin doesn't go from left to center to right, but from left to right to center, as if Rich had first assembled frames in one order, then decided to reorder them and didn't see that the position of the goblin got jumbled. It happens, especially if you end up trying to assemble things like that with a deadline and in the middle of the night.

I just noticed that Comic 401 and 720 have the same name, but the context is different. Clever.
A webcomic by Sahaar and I, Shadow of Fire. Read it!

Re: Things you never noticed
Just a small thing that's obvious but I didn't really think of it until now:
In #50 Nale hits Elan in the head both as toddlers and as adults.
I mean, I've obviously seen both the frames when I read the comic, but I never until now made the connection that Nale has never changed his way of dealing with his brother. Even though he never knew he had a brother until then.

Re: Things you never noticed
OoPCs Spoiler:
SpoilerIt took me at least 4 read-through to realize that when the Iron Mage guy is reviewing V's past (in a way that would make proud), The panel for the 43-year old V, covering his "apprenticeship" shows an animated broom carrying buckets, like in the sketch in Fantasia entitled "The Apprentice"

Re: Things you never noticed
No it doesn't. All we're seeing in the background is the last few hobgoblins wandering into place. I can't fathom why anyone thinks they're some sort of mistake.
